Harry had kept his secret fanfiction, well, a secret. It had been about two-ish years since he had acquired the book, as well as his very own beta reader.
Each year since then, the fanfic acquired a new side pairing, in third year it was Sirius Black. Now he didn’t do anything wrong to Harry at the time, however he was a wanted criminal, who wanted to kill him.
So Harry made Snape and Sirius, star crossed lovers, Sirius breaking into the castle, to murder Harry, when suddenly Snape finds him, and for some reason, hides him.
Their relationship blossoms, as Snape realises that Sirius is a bad boy with a golden heart. For the finale Harry was going to make Snape choose between Dumbledore and his job security, and Sirius and his true love.
This arc in the fic was one of his best! However he erased the entire third year arc from the mortal plains, when he actually met Sirius. And found out that he was his Godfather.
He’d replaced all mentions of his godfather’s name with Peter Pettigrew. However the original still haunted him.
Tom didn’t help as he still quotes the arc, whenever he feels like annoying Harry.
“Before him was a man he truly loved, and a man he relied upon for his income, his entire reason for being at the school. He remembered the steamy-”
“TOM, you better shut your mouth before I draw even more fic art in you!” Harry shouted at the book. “That’s my godfather you’re talking about!”
“Yes, the same one you wrote about having steamy inter-“ Tom was unable to finish writing the sentence, as Harry interrupted him.
“That’s it! I’m drawing the fic art!” Harry got a pencil ready. “Oh god, why are the proportions so off!” Tom's writing was scratchy and rushed.
Harry felt a little hurt by that comment. He’d been practicing drawing for a while now.
Well that was ages ago. Fourth year seemed to be the worst time for writing his fic.
First of all, there were no new teachers he really hated.
Secondly, he was in a death tournament.
So there was little time or inspiration for writing his fic. That was until the end of the year.
Now, Cedric’s death was a tragedy. But…
With Snape being a death eater and Voldemort being back… well there has never been such a perfect ship dynamic. Who would Snape choose? Well Voldemort would obviously have to be Snape’s ex-lover.
Harry had just gotten his inspiration back!
“Oh, you’re writing again? Well that’s…” the writing stopped, as if it was analysing the words written on its pages.
“Oh? oh. OH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!” Tom wrote rather quickly, in all capitalised letters.
“Hmm?” Harry hummed. “Well currently Snape is getting held against the wall by Voldemort, the sexual tension is so thick that you could cut it with a knife.”
“WHAT!?’ If Tom had hair, he’d most definitely would be pulling out.
“I thought we’d agreed that Voldemort wouldn’t be in the fanfiction.” Tom wrote. “Well he should have thought about that before he got himself revived and killed Cedric.” Harry huffed, he didn’t need to explain himself to a literal book!
“I command you to stop writing this… well write filth at once!” Tom scribbled angrily.
“Aww, well written? Thanks, I’ve really improved since I first started writing in you. Wait, wait, wait why do you want me to stop writing? You liked all my other works.” Harry asked.
Tom however did not respond.
This was bad for him however, as it let Harry’s deeply twisted mind fill in the blanks. “Wait… do you have a crush on Voldemort?!” Harry screeched.
“What? No!” Tom quickly replied. “I hate to break it to you Tom, but that guy looks like a human snake, no nose, grey skin, red eyes, a real creep. I don’t know what you see in him.” Harry tutted.
“I do not have a crush… wait you said he looked like what!? Harry could tell Tom was confused, as his handwriting turned splotchy.
“Yeah, he’s like, really ugly.” Harry put an emphasis on the word ugly.
“Oh that bastard! What has he done to my body!” Seeing Tom swear was a first for Harry, however he couldn’t process that, since Tom said HIS body.
“I didn’t know you were so possessive, Tom.” Harry teased. “No it's not like that!”
“Sure~” Harry teased further.
Harry swore he heard the book sigh. “So he really turned himself into a snake-like monstrosity?” Tom questioned, knowing the answer.
“Yep.” Harry said, popping the ’P’. He could hear the book sighing again.
“Harry, how about you have a coauthor for this arc.”
“You’re not saying…” Harry went wide eyed.
“I cant believe I’m doing this, but, yes I want to coauthor with you.” Tom wrote slowly.
“YES! I knew you’d see the absolute art, within fic writing!” Harry twirled the book around the room.
“I’m not doing any of this for your benefit! I’m just making sure that you depict Voldemort in a dignified way, that Voldemort out there has sullied your view on what a true dark lord should look like.” Tom huffed.
“I’m just correcting it.” He continued.
“Sure, whatever you say Tom.” Harry smiled sweetly. “Now let’s begin writing.”
‘Voldemort pulled out his five inch-‘ “Stop!” Tom interrupted his writing.
“What?” Harry asked, annoyed. “Five inches, really?” Oh hear Tom goes again- “It should at least be seven, eight if you want to be more accurate.” Tom complained.
“I like the way you think!” Harry laughed, as he went to eagerly write it down. However the words appeared on the paper, before he could even write them down.
“Huh? You could do that the whole time!?”
“Well, yes.” Tom answered calmly.
“Then why didn’t you fix my spelling mistakes for me?!” Harry questioned.
“I couldn't be bothered before.” Harry groaned in frustration.
“Let’s just continue.” Tom moved along.
“Fine.” Harry huffed.
‘Snape stared at the dark lord, he looked deeply into his red eyes, his pale skin, and his lack of a nose.’ Before Harry could continue writing more, he was once again stopped by Tom.
“The Voldemort I invison does NOT look like THAT.” Tom wrote.
“Well if you don’t like it, why don’t you just change it then?” Harry questioned.
Harry watched as the letters slowly disappeared off the page, and got replaced by new ones.
‘Snape stared at the dark lord, he looked deeply into his red eyes, his pale skin, his dark hair. He’d missed the sight of this man so dearly. That’s why he bared his mark, after all.’
“Oh… that’s good. That’s very good.” Harry remarked. “So is this a yes to you having a crush on Voldemort?”
“For the last time, NO!”
“That’s odd, I’ve never seen someone who doesn’t have a crush on the ‘dark lord’ talk about how well endowed he is.”
“Well, I could say the same thing about you, with Sirius Black!”
“EW! You take that back!”
“Not until you take back your unfounded claims!”
“Never!”
That day Harry had to draw a lot of art for his fic that day, and he means A LOT.
