Haven't You People Ever Heard Of Closing the Goddamn Door?

"Midoriya...are you okay?" Todoroki asks him after Izuku waves away the hundredth guest that recognized him as the number one hero and wanted to "talk". The good news: the rings are still lost. The bad news: Izuku hasn't been able to be alone with Todoroki since they started looking.

"Peachy." Izuku answers, scanning the floral patterned carpet for that godforsaken box.

Todoroki glances at the clock on the wall. "Most of the guests should be seated now. The wedding would start in five minutes, but we don't have the rings. We need to hurry."

Oh no we don't. Izuku thinks. He certainly hasn't been. He should just crush the box with One For All next time and be done with it. Screw whatever Kacchan said about not being "obvious".

Glancing around, Izuku realizes that they are now alone. He grabs Todoroki's hand and pulls him into a side room. He closes the door behind him and realizes that they are in the men's bathroom. Oh whatever, it works for now.

"Midoriya...what is going on? Why did you drag me into the bathroom? Do you have to go?"

Izuku flushes red at the comment. "No!" He lowers his voice, careful of anyone hearing them. "I needed to talk with you, in private."

Sensing the serious atmosphere, Todoroki's face hardens. "What is it?"

Izuku takes a breath. "I-"

The door slams open making both of them jump.

"Apologies for startling you! Midoriya, I've saved you a seat and you never turned up, prompting me to look for you! Is everything okay?"

Izuku slaps his hand to his face. He feels a little like crying, or maybe screaming would be more appropriate?

"Not now, Iida." Izuku says, trying to keep the irritation out of his voice. "I'm trying to have a talk." He gestures to Todoroki.

Iida looks around. "In the bathroom?"

Izuku blushes again. "Yes in the bathroom! You know what, stay. I'll tell you too."

He doesn't know how low-key they can be about sabotaging a wedding with three people, but more people means more help, right?

"Listen, Iida, Todoroki, I-"

The door swings open again, this time with less force. Two people walk in and freeze. Izuku might actually cry.

"Okay, the three of you together is never good. What's going on?" A familiar voice drawls.

Aizawa-sensei has aged since they've graduated and said their goodbyes, but it doesn't show. Not when he has his hair pulled back into a stylish ponytail and his face is clean shaven for once. Likely for the wedding.

"Aizawa-sensei…" Izuku greets, stunned from seeing his teacher. It makes sense that he was invited, Izuku can't believe he hadn't thought of it before.

His old teacher holds up a hand. "Nevermind, I don't want to know. Just let me use the bathroom in peace."

The man standing beside Aizawa-sensei peeks around.

"Hey kiddos! It's been a while, hasn't it?" Present Mic-sensei says with a smile. He also has his hair pulled into a ponytail, but his mustache remains intact.

"Indeed it has!" Iida enthusiastically returns his greeting while Izuku laments his choice of rooms.

"I was just telling Shouta that the bride and groom are some match, yeah? I wouldn't have expected it, but I guess love really is a hurricane!"

Aizawa-sensei sighs. "It's honestly none of our business."

"Awww, c'mon they're your kids Shouta! You're allowed to place bets." He then slings an arm around his husband. "Besides, being invited to a wedding is fun! It reminds me of our own!"

Aizawa-sensei gazes at them all tiredly. "Kids. Never get married."

While Present Mic-sensei protests his words, Izuku is left to think. He can include them as well, right? They're retired pro heroes, but they'd still be invaluable help. It really couldn't hurt to have more people know.

He looks up and catches Todoroki staring at him. Under the scrutiny, he shifts uncomfortably.

Iida cuts across the couple's quarrel with a cough. "Midoriya! You had something to tell us?"

All eyes shift to Izuku.

"That can wait." Aizawa-sensei says. "I thought you were supposed to be looking for the rings? The wedding should've started by now. I don't want to be here all day."

Iida frowns and taps his chin. "Of course. Perhaps we can elicit the help of the other guests?"

Izuku forces a smile, already hating the idea. "Sounds like a good idea." Todoroki eyes him strangely.

"Good." Aizawa-sensei responds. "Now get out."

Iida, Todoroki, and Izuku leave the bathroom. Guests have milled back out of their chairs and everyone appears to be searching for something. Izuku sighs. At this rate, he'll lose all progress and it's barely been twenty minutes.

They get back to searching, and surprisingly, for which Izuku is incredibly grateful, they don't find anything. Fifteen minutes pass and even Izuku is starting to think the rings must've vanished into thin air.

But then someone announces that the rings have been found and he deflates. Izuku overhears them continue to say that the rings weren't actually found, but the bride had impromptu ones they could use so that the wedding could commence.

His plan failed. In hindsight, it wasn't a very good plan. Time for the next thing.

But before he can, his phone rings. Izuku answers it immediately.

"Izuku? Has the wedding already started?!"

"No mom, it got delayed. It should start pretty soon though. Are you not here?" He's a little surprised. His mother wouldn't miss this for the world.

"Oh thank goodness." His mother breathes into the receiver. "There was a villain fight downtown and we had to take a detour, but of course Toshi wanted to stop to make sure everyone was okay…"

Izuku hears a distant. "Sweetie I said I was sorry." He chuckles. Same old All Might, even without his powers.

"Anyways," His mother continues. "Could you talk to Katsuki or Ochako-kun and tell them to postpone for just a little bit longer? We should be there in twenty minutes and I really don't want to miss it."

Izuku fights the grin threatening to spread over his face. "Mom. Take all the time that you need. I'll make sure to let them know."

"Thanks so much sweetie. I'll see you soon. By the way, when are you going to get marr-"

Izuku hangs up. Nope. Not enough brain capacity to deal with that right now. He can almost hear his mom and All Might laughing from here, the traitors.

He pockets his phone and dashes down the hallway he first saw Kacchan. He passes the door of the room Kacchan pulled him in and finds a group of people standing around talking heatedly.

Izuku recognizes them. It's Kacchan, Aunt Mitsuki, Uncle Masaru and Uraraka's parents.

"She isn't even the mother of the groom! She should've been here earlier!" Uraraka's dad shouts.

Kacchan growls. "She's like a mother to me, you fucking bastard, she has to be here or I'm not getting hitched!"

"Katsuki, calm down."

Izuku approaches and slides into the conversation. "Is this about my mother? She just called, she said she'd only be another twenty minutes."

Aunt Mitsuki smiles at him. "Twenty minutes isn't that long, everyone can wait," She glares at the Urarakas, "can't they?"

Uraraka's dad frowns, but sighs in defeat. "If you insist. But! We're only waiting twenty minutes! No more!" With that, he storms away, followed by his wife.

Everyone left behind sighs in unison. Aunt Mitsuki addresses him once again.

"Izuku! I'm so glad you could make it! Look how much you've grown!" She ruffles his hair- which is a lost cause at this point- and grabs him in a bone breaking hug.

"Good to see you too, Auntie." Izuku speaks into her shoulder.

"Okay, okay, lay off hag. Let me talk to Deku."

The Bakugou couple walk away and Izuku faces Kacchan. He's about to speak when Kacchan holds a finger to his lips. Izuku stares at him quizzically.

"How's your mom?" He asks. His hand moves in the air, making weird movements that Izuku recognizes as sign language.

"She's good." Izuku responds slowly, unsure, "Like I said, she'll be here soon. It was All Might that held them up." He focuses on what Kacchan signs.

"I am bugged. There are microphones in the flowers. Villains are among the guests."

"Sounds just like him."

Izuku signs back. "Do you know how many?"

"That's what I said. Are you feeling nervous?"

Kacchan shakes his head. "Not sure. Anyway, forget about telling anyone about this, or at least not anyone with a flower pinned to their shirt."

"Nervous? It's like you don't know me."

Izuku frowns. Todoroki had a flower on his shirt. Izuku doesn't know about Iida, but he thinks he did too. "Got it. I'll be careful. This wedding won't happen."

"Well, I'll go now. Stay out of trouble."

Kacchan nods. "You too."
