Summer of '78.A group of friends. They might seem unlikely friends but they are, as they themselves would say, a found family (and some are actually family, although Regulus doesn't seem to want to admit to this).A week away from home and school (after 7 years it feels weird) and with no magic to guide them through making campfires, pitching tents, cooking on their own and chopping firewood.A week for all kinds of feelings to surface and push through to make their inevitable appearance - isn't that what summers are for?

Hello again, cowards.I've entered the marauders twt (although it hasn't fully accepted me yet, STOP PLAYING HARD TO GET) and I keep coming back to this one story that I have been dying to write. I know that in atyd they had a similar outing - camping - but I promise my vision of this will be completely different (and probably a lot, lot worse) and maybe a bit less angsty.I am aware that in 1978 homophobia was at full swing (when is it ever not tbh). This particular fic basically ignores it because all of the people in this group of friends love each other and give their all to make each other feel safe. It might seem unlikely to you but then again, this is fiction.Also, I've completely ignored the war here. Whether or not it's going on, for this one week, they are not thinking about it. I'm giving them all some time off from angst and horror. I think they deserve it. That's the main thing that will be straying from the canon. And, since I wasn't born in the 70s or lived then, there might be some historical inaccuracies? I'll just say this right from the start in case some history nerds are gonna come for me.The POV's are going to change - the first one is from Sirius' POV, there'll also be Remus and possibly Regulus and James.Sorry for the long-ass note. I'm going to post songs used in each chapter at the end notes.
