Ron Weasley
1. Ron has been married three times.
Ron’s first marriage was to Padma Patil. The Yule ball date that he treated like crap. After the Battle of Hogwarts, Ron dated Hermione for a little less than a year before they broke up because they felt like they never saw each other. Ron was in Auror training and Hermione had gone back to Hogwarts. Ron ran into Padma a few months after she graduated and they started dating a few weeks after that. Their relationship moved rather quickly and they married after a year of dating. They had one son shortly after they married. They divorced almost as quickly as they got married. A few months after Panju turned one. Ron’s second marriage was to Hermione. Ron and Hermione were considered by many people to be inevitable and they proved them correct when they got together a year after Ron’s divorce. It was two years of dating before they married. Their eldest, Rose, was born a year and half after their marriage. Hugo was born two years after Rose was born. It was when Hugo was two that Hermione caught Ron having an affair with his ex-girlfriend Lavender. Hermione filed for divorce two months later. Ron married Lavender six months after his divorce to Hermione. Ron had three sons with Lavender named: Lewis, Daniel, and Cory.
2. Auror, Proprietor, and after.
After the war, Ron chose to forgo his last year of Hogwarts and take the offer to join the Auror program. Normally everyone that joins the Auror program is required to have a N.E.W.T.S. in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Potions, Charms, and Transfiguration. Ron had none of these but was offered a position due to his part in the war. Ron accepted this offer and spent the year that would have been his last year at Hogwarts in Auror Training. Ron finished his Auror training just as Hogwarts school year ended. Ron was an Auror for a little less than a year before he was fired for excessive force and targeting. It was after this that Ron started working for his brothers at Weasley Wizard Wheezes. After a few years, he became an owner of the joke shop. It was during and after his divorce with Hermione, he started drinking quite a bit as well as gambling. The drinking caused problems at the joke shop as started showing up late to work and he stopped doing half of the work that he was supposed to do. The gambling led to him taking money from the shop to pay his debts. After George sued him, Ron's public image was greatly damaged and people started to wonder why he stopped being an Auror. It was the public’s reaction that made him sober up. After being an Auror and working/owning part of Weasley Wizard Wheezes, Ron decided to use his experience in management to get a job working with his favorite quidditch team the Chudley Cannons.
3. The Affair and the divorces.
Ron dated Hermione for ten and half months after the Battle of Hogwarts. It was Hermione who broke up with Ron, though he will claim otherwise. Hermione thought that they were better off as friends. They were constantly fighting and the feelings that Hermione had for Ron didn’t quite feel strong enough to try work through all of their issues. When they got together for the second time, Ron took a page out of his mom’s book and used a love potion. Hermione was the one person who Ron had always wanted, from third year on, so when they tried to have a relationship and it failed Ron was pissed off. He felt that Hermione was his and she would be his again. But it took him a while to figure out how he would win back Hermione and in the meantime he threw himself into a relationship with Padma, which ended rather quickly. This was mostly because Ron pretended to be invested and in love with Padma but as soon as Padma was pregnant and stopped being intimate with Ron, he got bored and just stopped being there for her and started sleeping around. Padma put up with Ron and his behavior for a little over a year but ultimately filed for divorce a month after Panju’s first birthday. It was during this year that Ron got the idea from his mom to use a love potion to get Hermione to fall in love with him. It took him a while to get a love potion that Hermione would be able to detect. It took him a year and half to get a hold of and he managed to get enough for about five and half years worth of stock. He waited a little longer after he got them before he started using them. A year after his divorce to Padma, at Panju’s second birthday party, Ron slipped it in Hermione’s drink. The potion had to be administered once a week. So every week after that Ron would bring Hermione a coffee at work and that would chat. The love potion was a strong one and he could have suggested marriage a week after he started giving it to her and she would have said yes. But Molly told him that it would be suspicious if they got married as quickly. He waited two years to propose because that would fit with what Hermione would actually want. He would continue to give Hermione the potion until after Hugo was born,he still had a couple months worth of potion left but didn’t continue because he didn’t think Hermione would break up their family, and she probably wouldn’t have if she hadn’t caught him in bed with Lavender. You see after his marriage with Padma and his numerous affairs, Ron became accustomed with a certain level of activity in the bedroom. Even with the love potions Hermione never quite reached the level that he wanted and that became even less after he stopped giving her the potions. Lavender was more than happy to do what Hermione would not.
4. The fallout
After his divorce to Hermione, they remained friends and co-parents. Ron was greatly unhappy about Hermione leaving him but he wasn’t broken-hearted about it. You see, soon after he married her Ron found that being married to Hermione wasn’t everything he thought it would be. Ron very much takes after his mom and is pretty old-fashioned, and believed that the woman’s place was in the home as a mother and caregiver. As such Ron didn’t really fight Hermione on the divorce and while Hermione was hurt over the affair, the divorce went smoothly and everyone was still really good friends. However, about six months after divorce Harry was hanging out with Ron at his house and found an old bottle of love potion. When Harry confronted Ron about it Ron said that he was just working on the formula for the shop, but as he said this the tips of his ears flushed red and it was obvious that he was lying. Harry and Ron then got into a screaming match, in which Harry asked repeatedly if he drugged Hermione and Ron would deflect and accuse Harry of not trusting him. In the midst of this argument Hermione flooed over, because Hugo forgot his stuffed dragon, a gift from Uncle Charlie that he could sleep without. Hermione heard a small portion of the argument before realizing what it was about. She was momentarily stunned and at that moment Harry had noticed her and immediately went over to check on her. Hermione asked to see the bottle and after examining it for five minutes realized that Harry was right, there was no way that Ron hadn’t used it on her. But Hermione didn’t yell at Ron, she calmly said that she no longer wanted anything to do with Ron, and that if he tried to talk to her about anything but their kids, she would go to the Ministry of Magic. After that Ron was cut out, not just by Herimone but by Harry and Ginny too.
5. The Alcoholism and recovery
After Ron had a massive falling out with Harry and Hermione, and Ginny refused to speak to him, Ron fell into a depression. Harry and Hermione were his oldest friends and his only true friends that were not just acquaintances; Ginny had always been the sibling that he was the closest to. Having all three of them leave him at once played on abandonment issues that he had as a result of the neglect he suffered as a child. As a result of the old issues and the falling out Ron started drinking and going out to muggle clubs. It got to the point where he was always a little bit tipsy. Ron was now dating Lavender who just ignored the drinking and the cheating. It was not even five months after the falling out and divorce that Lavender became pregnant. Ron, being old-fashioned, insisted that they would be married before the baby was born. He and Molly also rushed the wedding so that Lavender wouldn’t be showing on the wedding day. It was actually the wedding and the prophet’s report on the wedding that caused Ron to stop drinking and act better. The prophet’s headline was: War Hero Divorces Wife and Marries Another. In the article it talked about how he and Hermione had only been divorced for six months and brought up the fact that he was most likely cheating. It also discussed how much alcohol Ron drank, with a quote from on for the attendee of the wedding that said, “ You could smell the firewhiskey on him as he walked down the aisle". There was also a second article in the prophet that same day titled: Golden Trio Splits. That talked about the relationship between Harry, Ron and Hermione and how no one has seen them together in months. It was this bad press that caused him to straighten out his life.
6. Children and Relationships
Ron has six kids: Panju, Rose, Hugo, Lewis, Daniel, and Cory. Panju is his oldest and he is the one that he sees the least. His marriage to Padma was never about love and he checked out of that relationship as soon as he found out Padma was pregnant. Panju was essentially raised by a single mother with no dad, at least until Padma remarried when he was 12. The only times Ron saw or talked to his eldest was on Panju’s birthday and christmas. Rose was his second born and his only girl. Prior to his divorce with Hermione, Rose was his world. If he wasn’t having his affairs or trying to get Hermione into bed, he was doting on Rose. Even after the divorce this continued to a little less extent, but still a good bit. It is obvious to anyone looking at his relationships with his kids that Rose is by far his favorite. Hugo was not quite as lucky and doesn't have a great relationship with Ron. Hugo is not the type of son that he wanted. He was quiet and didn’t show any interest in sports or flying. That being said his relationship was not as bad as his relationship with Panju, and this is mostly due to the fact that he is Hermione’s son too. He wants Hermione to talk to him and be friends again, but because she won't, Ron gets Rose and Hugo as often as he can and tries to turn them against Hermione. Rose actually listens to Ron and it has caused a strain on her relationship with her mom, but Hugo who is not treated to the same level of doting and has seen how his dad can be doesn’t believe him. Lewis, while not ignored, is not doted on. He gets presents on his birthday and christmas, and goes to quidditch games with his dad every once in a while. But the presents aren’t quite what he asked for, they were similar but different, and the quidditch games are only if Daniel or Cory can’t or don’t want to go. He is largely an afterthought. Rose may be the overall favorite but Daniel comes in a close second and is definitely his favorite son. Daniel is the one that gets the most expensive presents and random presents every once in a while, because Ron saw it and thought he would like it. He’s the one Ron takes to the quidditch trails and camps. The first one offered tickets to quidditch games and the one whom he spends the most time with. Cory is the baby and Lavender’s favorite, as such Lavender makes sure that Cory is treated pretty equally to Daniel, but not quite. Cory gets the expensive presents but they are still slightly cheaper. He gets the random presents but not quite as often. He gets to go to about half of the events that Daniel goes to, but his relationship with Ron is still pretty good.
7. The Chudley Cannons
After George’s lawsuit, Ron was out of a job; his new wife was pregnant and he had debts to pay. So, when he read in the prophet that the Chudley Cannons needed a new manager, he decided to try his luck. Ron was widely regarded as a War hero and was a former Auror, and as such it was expected that he could shape the team into what it needed to be. At least that was the public reason given when the owner of the team was asked why he hired Ron. The truth is the owner of the Cannons used them as a smuggling ring; which is how the cannons, who in the last 60+ years have never won a match, managed to keep making money and stay in the league. The actual reason that Ron was hired had more to do with the fact that he had a history of embezzling funds and would be more likely to turn a blind eye to the smuggling. Ron was hesitant to begin with mostly due to the fact that no one was supposed to be aware of the embezzling, as the lawsuit was private and the records sealed. However, Ron decided that he didn’t care about the smuggling and decided that it only made the job more enticing, as it would bring in more money than anticipated. In addition to actually making the cannons into a pretty good team, bringing their first victory in many, many years, Ron helped improve their smuggling operation. As a former Auror he was able to give pointers on what to do and what not to do and how they could get bigger items in and out the country.
