Bill Weasley
1. It's only for his siblings that he puts up with his parents.
Bill was ten when Ginny was born, and at ten he was already helping his mom out more than his dad was. Charlie was nine and wild; Percy six and pretty much refused to talk. Fred and George were four and realized the more chaos they caused the more attention they got: whereas Ron was one and a very fussy toddler. And his mom paid very little attention to them for the six months or so after Ginny was born. It was during this point Bill started to dislike his parents, but none of his siblings seemed to realize how bad their parents had been, until much later. So, he put up with his parents so he could be there when they needed him.
2. Bill knew what job he wanted in his third year, but didn’t tell his parents until after he got it.
In third year he started taking ancient runes and loved them. He loved them so much he spent the first three weeks of that school year reading all of the different career paths that involved ancients runes. It was then he discovered what curse-breaking was and decided that is what he wanted to do with his life. But he knew if he told his mom, she would do everything she could to talk him out of it. So, he waited until he had already accepted a job at Gringotts to tell them. Prior to this only two people knew, Professor McGonagall and Professor Babbling.
3. When he started dating Fleur he knew she was the one.
He asked Fleur out about three months after they met. He didn’t know too much about her then, only that she was French and took the job at Gringotts to improve her english. But she was pretty and polite, so he took a chance and asked her to dinner. Over the course of dinner he learned they had a lot in common including a fierce love for their siblings and a love of astronomy. By the end of the night he was smitten.
4. The summer his family came to Egypt was both the best and worst summer.
He loved having his siblings around and showing all of the cool tombs that his crew had found. What he loved significantly less was finding out Ginny had been taken into the Chamber of Secrets or that Ron had a broken wand for the entire school. He was so scared when he heard that from Ginny, that he didn’t let her out of his sight for the next four hours. In that time, he got the full story out of her and made sure she knew that if she needed anything he would always be there. He was beyond mad when he found out about Ron’s wand, because he knew there was no way that his parents didn’t know. Ron may have never written a letter to tell them but as his head of house and deputy headmistress of Hogwarts, Professor McGonagall would never allow her students to continually use a dangerous and broken wand. Meaning that his parents just didn’t care. At the same time he had also found out that Ron had never actually had gotten his own wand, and that the wand that the used for first and second year was Charlie’s old wand that he was told to replace because it wasn’t safe to keep using when the unicorn hair poking out.
5. When Victoire was born he almost quit his job.
He knew his job was dangerous and he didn’t want anything to happen to him and cause Victoire to grow up without her father. He grew up with an absent father and he wanted better for her. That in of itself is the second reason that he almost quit. As a Curse-Breaker he worked weird and long hours and he didn’t want to miss his daughter's childhood. But he loved his job, so rather than quitting he took a more stable in house job. Instead of going and breaking the curses and or wards on tombs and old castles, he would break the curse on the objects that were brought back from said tombs and castles.
6. His first love had been a boy.
Bill met Ben in his second year, he had just been sorted into Gryffindor. He spent the next few years looking after him and his friends. It wasn’t until Ben’s Fourth year that he asked him out. They dated until Bill graduated. Ben had taught him quite a bit about love and what he should expect out of a relationship. Neither of them had wanted to break up but Bill was of age now and though he was only a year older than him they still felt weird about it. There was also the fact that Bill was moving to Egypt soon, and long distance is hard. It hurt to break up with him but he knew they would be able to keep seeing each other.
7. Bill loves his in-laws.
The first time Bill met Fleur’s Parents he had been very nervous. But the Delacour family were the kindest and most loving people he had ever met. They didn’t care that he had long hair or wore earrings. They also didn’t care that he was bisexual. They were the most open and accepting people he knew and he loves them that much more for it.
