Molly Weasley
1. Molly Tricked Arthur into going on a date with her.
Molly had liked Arthur for a long time before she got the courage to ask him on a date, and by then he was already dating the muggle girl. A month after they broke she decided to try again, but she knew he wasn’t over his ex. So she decided to use a mild love potion to get him to go on a date with her. She stopped using the love potion after a few months and Arthur never broke up with her. She never did tell him.
2. It wasn’t until Percy was born that she found out about the Weasley curse.
Growing up all Molly ever wanted to be was a mother. She had always dreamed of having a little girl, after Bill and Charlie she was very hopeful her third was going to be a girl. After he wasn’t she mentioned to Arthur how she really wanted a girl. It was then that he told her there hadn’t been a girl born into the Weasley family in almost 300 years.
3. She and Arthur were married for three years before she had Bill.
She and Arthur married a month after they graduated Hogwarts. They wanted kids right away, but decided to wait a year or two and let Arthur get settled into his job at the ministry. It wasn’t until their first anniversary that Molly noticed the gambling, but didn’t think too much of it. A little gambling never hurts. But about six months later she realized how bad it was, and threatened to leave him to stop gambling and focus on their family. It took him a year to get it together; she was pregnant a month later.
4. When Ron became friends with Harry she had hoped that he would fall in love with Ginny.
When Ron’s first letter showed up and said that he had made friends with Harry Potter, she started thinking. The Potters were an extremely wealthy family and Harry was a pretty handsome young boy, even if he was mixed. He would be the perfect husband for Ginny. So she started to find ways to push them together and if that didn’t work, well she could always fall back on the same love potion trick she used on Arthur.
5. She paid the least attrition to Ron when he was growing up but he ended up being her favorite child.
Bill was her golden child who grew up and left her. He rarely ever wrote letters and when he did they were always very short. Charlie was her wild child with dangerous hobbies and later an even more dangerous job. Percy was her new golden boy and she did everything she could to make sure he wouldn’t leave her. The twins were troublemakers whom she had to keep a constant eye on, and Ginny was her precious little girl. All of this meant she had very little time for Ron growing up. However, he was one of the golden trio and brought fame to the house of Weasley. He was also the second one of her children to get married, and he actually married someone she approved of.
6. She almost left Arthur several times.
The first time was before Bill was born, when Arthur’s gambling was really bad. The second and third time happened the year after Percy was born. They had three kids and Arthur was almost never home; she was losing her patients with him. The next five times happened shortly after the twins were born and was for much the same reason as the second and third with the additive of having five kids and still no girl. In the six months or so between when she had Ron and got pregnant with Ginny, there wasn’t really a single moment where she didn’t think of leaving him. But soon she fell pregnant with the little girl she always wanted and she was content with her marriage for the most part.
7. She had a lot of expectations for her kids and none of them were met.
Molly was an extremely traditionalist and expected all of her children to follow her beliefs. This meant that she expected each one of them to get married to the opposite gender and have kids. She expected each one of the kid’s spouses to meet her approval. In addition to this marriage was a one and done due; divorce was not an option. She also expected her sons to work a nice respectable job within the ministry and provide for their families. She also expected Ginny to be a stay at home mother like herself. Absolutely none of these were met.
