Chapter 9
Tony was down in the lab working on some repairs when he got an alert from Friday that Peter was sitting on the roof. He thought nothing of it for a second knowing the kid loved heights but he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to go check on him.
“Hey Fri, what's he doing up there?” He asked to calm his nerves.
“He appears to be writing though he does appear to be quite upset.” F.R.I.D.A.Y answered.
That didn’t help his nerves any he decided he was going to go check on him after he finished one last small detail on the newest upgrade he had been working on.
It hadn’t been five minutes when F.R.I.D.A.Y announced “Mr.Parker Is in severe distress including self-injury and it appears he's taken some pills.”
“Shit, he still on the roof? And alert Banner” He asked already heading there.
“Yes, he is, and okay Boss.” The AI said confirming his location.
A million thoughts were running through his head as he waited for the elevator to get to the roof, like ‘Is he trying to kill himself?’ ‘Why won't this thing go faster?’ He could have kept going as the thoughts kept coming but he was interrupted by the sound of the elevator arriving. He ran out bursting through the door to the roof. His stomach dropped at the sight before him, Peter was layed out on the ground bleeding out his skin was as white as paper and he wasn’t conscious.
He ran over to him trying to apply pressure to the gaping wound on Peter’s arm while trying his hardest to keep his cool or at least until Banner got there.
It had to have only been a minute when Banner arrived but to him, it felt like an eternity.
“Do you know what happened?!”Banner asked in a slightly panicked way.
“He uh he took some pills I think, I didn’t think he would do something like this I mean I knew he was–” He began to ramble before Banner interrupted.
“Okay Tony I know what he took and we need to get him down to medical, so all the what-ifs and whys don’t matter right now only helping Peter. I know this is scary but I need you to focus.”
With that Banner and he carried him into the elevator down to medical, Banner rushing him away as soon as they got there leaving Tony alone with nothing but his mind.

It had to have been half an hour before he moved from standing in front of the doors, only because a nurse offered him a rag to clean up with, and only then did he realize he was covered in blood still, Peter’s blood He thought to himself. He went to the bathroom and tried to scrub but the more he scrubbed without it working the more he started to panic.
“You can't do this right now. “He said to himself knowing it was about to be a full-blown panic attack.
“Friday, call Rhodey please.” He asked knowing Rhodey always can calm him down.
“Hey, Tones what's up?” Rhodey’s voice echoed from his phone in the small bathroom.
“Peter tried to kill himself, I found him. I don’t know what I’ll do if he's not okay and I'm panicking and I just really need to talk to you right now.” He said desperately.
“Shit I’m so sorry you might want to try taking some deep breaths, so you can calm down. You know that you can’t do anything right now to help if you’re panicking.” Rhodey said in a calm tone that seemed ill-fitting for the situation.
He took a few deep breaths before saying “ Deep breathing is a fucking joke. And I know I need to calm down it's just hard.”
Rhodey laughed a bit at his first statement adding,” Wait until I tell you about the power of positive thinking.”
“You are an ass” He said with a small laugh though it felt wrong to laugh when Peter could be dead in the next room.
“I might be an ass but I'm an ass that knows how to calm you down.” Rhodey said making him realize he was much calmer now actually.
“If you think so, thanks by the way and I'm going to see if there are any updates so ill let you know later.” He said
“Okay feel free to call me back whenever and let me know how he is.” Rhodey said before hanging up.
He walked out of the bathroom feeling much calmer than when he went in, he walked to the nearest nurse to ask if he could see Peter or if there were any updates at least. Her response was that Peter was alive but that's all she could give him at the time and it's best to just wait. So that's what he was going to do, he would wait all night if he had to but he would not leave that floor until he knew Peter was okay.
