She looked close to a breakdown. Unshed tears clung to her lashes and her head was bowed as she stared unseeing into a void.
Jack pulled her aside. Past Rumlow, past STRIKE Alpha and Epsilon to a little out of the way office bunker. They'd all know better than to follow.
"Roxy?"
She pressed her eyes shut, her hand clutching the straps of his tactical suit. she didn't seem to notice she was doing it. he pulled her closer until he could wrap his arms around her and rested his chin on her head. "Your sister is going to be fine," he said. "She's a tough little thing. She'll be right."
Roxy sobbed.
"I was so scared," she said at last. "I thought everyone was done for, I had no control and I was so scared Jack."
