I am so relieved that I finally got a letter from Sirius, it’s unfortunate that we have to talk to each other through Narcissa. I don’t know how long she’ll put up with it. At least we were able to figure it out before mother’s plan began to work and we began to drift apart. I think that she underestimates how close we are, rather than be upset with one another due to the lack of response. We both became concerned as to why the other wasn’t responding. She never really respected any sort of genuine relationship.
I don’t know what other plans Mother has to attempt to separate Sirius and I. I honestly believe that when I eventually and inevitably get sorted into Slytherin I know that Sirius will be disappointed in me, in the way that I can’t be as brave and bold as he always has been. I’m worried about him feeling betrayed by me when I can’t imagine allowing myself to put myself through whatever will happen when he comes home. I know that there will be no way that Sirius will go unpunished for not being sorted into Slytherin, especially since he was sorted into Gryfindor, Ravenclaw is really the only somewhat acceptable house outside of Slytherin. It would still be upsetting to the family of course, but it’s still a show of great intelligence which is something that is considered okay to the Noble House of Black.
I’m worried about Sirius, I can only imagine that his time away from all of the rules and disciplines will only make him bolder when he returns home. Mother will certainly become much more strict with him in hopes that the discipline received at home will be able to tame any wildness that the house of Gryffindor has allowed for him to gain, especially with the number of muggle born and half bloods in that house. I believe that the Potters are considered blood traitors, due to their history of consorting with muggles and beliefs although they are still technically pure bloods due to their lack of muggle ancestors which is quite odd. That’s all besides the point, the point is that Sirius’ choice in friends is going to do nothing more than upset Mother that much more.
