The Map Of Darkness

In June 1980, death eater Severus Snape starts getting weird dreams. They’re dark, outlandish and preposterous, but they are ominous enough to wake him every night.

At first he thinks nothing of them. He is used to having nightmares, has been since young; and these visions are hardly graphic enough to shake him.

Then the dreams start to come true.

It has to be a mere coincidence. Coincidences are everywhere, after all. But when a muggle couple gets tortured exactly like in his dream and the Dark Lord utters exactly the words he had foreseen – Severus cannot help but wonder.

Even so, a man in his position has no right to turn back now. He has made his choices, and he had made them willingly. He has stepped way too deep into the darkness to find a way out.

Then, just a few short months later, the fragile peace he has managed to build for himself shatters. He dreams of Lily and a bright green light, and suddenly he knows he cannot stay still. Like a fly caught in a spider’s web, he starts to struggle.

But can a fly caught in the web of darkness ever untangle itself?

And if it can, does it stand any chance at slaying the spider who spun the web in the first place?

Or:

A young Severus Snape receives the blessing of premonitions. In a desperate attempt to protect his ex-friend, he starts to fight against her apparent demise.

While doing so, he comes across another young man caught in the same trap as him. Reggie’s young, he’s naïve, and his lips taste like the sour cherries Severus's Mother used to preserve every autumn.

In the end, Severus isn’t so sure whether he wants to find a way out of the darkness or just slay its current lord.

Or:

Two lost boys who, even though already standing on the scaffold, decide to make a run for it.
