Chapter 10

Remus POV:

love came to Remus as easily as anger did. The only difference is that it was so hard for Remus to display the better of those two emotions. Usually he would show his love for others with passive aggressive comments or bits of his favorite chocolate or by sharing snippets of the book he was reading.

he couldn’t do that now. Not with Sirius so fragile.

Remus felt helpless. Like he was trapped in a glass box. He could watch as James helped the boy he loved back on his feet, but he couldn’t seem to get free of the invisible walls that kept him in places, unable to go comfort the boy he loved - at least not in a healthy way.

if he was being honest it was complete shit and he hated every helpless second.

James walked into the room with a shaken looking Sirius, wrenching Remus from is thoughts. He stood, walking over to the two.

”what’s wrong did something hap-“ he was cut off by Sirius who stumbled forward into Remus, clinging to his like a koala would a tree.

koalas. Such strange muggle creatures. I wonder if James and Sirius even know what they ar- once again Remus’ thoughts were broken off as Sirius body was wracked with sobs. Remus instinctually wrapped his arms around Sirius, pulling the shaking boy closer to him.

None of the boys heard the floo flare up until none other than Peter pettigrew was coughing from the ashes that flew up around him.
