Peculiar Creatures

The Marauders were somewhat notorious by 1975. They had a presence that rivalled that of Dumbledore's, in the eyes of any Hogwarts student that had heard of them. And of course, everybody had heard of them. And if they'd heard of them, they wanted to be them. Or, if they didn't want to be them, they wanted to be with them. To any self-respecting student in the 70s, they were celebrities.And then, there was Y/N. By her 5th year, her accomplishments lay heavily in the academic side of school and sparingly in the social side. She was quiet, and mostly unbothered - unless she was bothered, and then she became frighteningly feisty. By 5th year, it became apparent that the only individuals capable of bothering her were the Marauders. She was the only person who didn't care for them, and yet they seemed to care greatly about her. Not in the sentimental way, but in the annoyingly aggravating way.Until one day, in September of their 5th year at Hogwarts, she is partnered up with Remus Lupin. And from that day, the remainder of her time at Hogwarts seemed to revolve soley around what they had and what they didn't.And as for Remus, he was stuck between listening to his human instincts, or his darker ones.

Hi guys!I hope you enjoy my new fic - I've always been IN LOVE with Remus Lupin (who wouldn't be?) and everyday I'm disappointed by the lack of work I find about him.This fic is based loosely around the plot of Normal People by Salley Rooney, but set in the magical world of the Harry Potter universe. None of the characters belong to me, but this is my own writing so I hope you enjoy it!The fic does contain some characters that canonically wouldn't have been in Hogwarts when the Marauders were there, such as Bellatrix and Narcissa, so I've messed around with the timeline a little bit, but hopefully for a good reason, as they'll provide a lot of drama if all goes well.This fic will contain some graphic smut and violence, however it'll be more of a slow burn as the characters get older. The fic starts in the year 1975, when Y/N and the Marauders are all 16. I'm British, so the age of consent here is 16, but if this isn't your cup of tea, I'll put a warning before any chapters containing anything heated so you know it's coming!My plan is to make this a longer fic, so it'll stretch from 5th year to the final year at Hogwarts, and a little after that.Thank you for giving my fic a chance, I hope you all enjoy it!Lots of love,SE x
