If you asked Marlene she would say life is just that nothing more nothing less just a time that is basically meaningless unless you change that most don't seem bothered by that. Marlene would say she's one of those people though she’d never admit that out loud because that just leads to unnecessary problems. The only person she knows who would probably understand what she ment is James Potter, someone who she’d consider her best friend, maybe even her brother from another family due to how much they would hang out with one another growing up. Though she does deny it at times but James knows she's only joking when she does.Maybe that's why her, James and Peter always got along.
