Chapter 1
Okay so I’m finally starting to write this new fanfic bc my last one was SO cringe and I’m obsessed with mermaids
So for now I’m going to start by explaining what this will be like and I might release a chapter later on tonight if I can be bothered to write
I’ve created (from my knowledge of ocean animals) different species of mermaids and designs.
this is going to be soukoku centric but there will be some side ships too
This is also a gender swap au bc I’m a sucker for female skk
AND also this is inspired from h2o but it will only have a few similar traits to it (like highschool plot n everything)
Enough talking lemme explain mermaids
1. lykólux’s — first is reef centric mermaids, these mostly consist of the port mafia, they have spines through their tails and singular/double set of fins (females have one set males have two), they thrive in the Epipelagic zone (the sunlight zone), but can live in the mesopelagic zone (twilight zone) but will live in poor condition.
2. Mesáscule’s — second is twilight/midnight centric mermaids, these consist of part of the doa (Sigma and Bram). They usually survive in between the bathypelagic and mesopelagic zone, aka a goldilocks zone for them, yet they can survive in the epipelagic zone if necessary, and can adapt to the different conditions of it.
3. Àvytrum’s — third is the abyss mermaids, these mermaids live in the abyssopelagic zone, these mermaids consist of the rest of the doa (Nikolai, Fyodor, and Fukuchi), these mermaids live underneath the blanket of the midnight zone, they take the form of creatures (coffin fish, octopus, anglerfish etc…) they can live in the midnight zone but cannot live above that, they however can survive, meaning they can come to the surface if they are fast enough to do so.
4. Charávallum’s — fouth is the hadal zone mermaids, these do not have specific characters in them so far, but they cannot come to the surface as the lack of pressure against them would make their bodies fall apart.
(The origin of the mermaid subspecies names were given to me by my lovely wife fenny wenny boo boo bear originally in latin (the first in lykolux where originally in romanian as Lux, and avytrums were originally Ancient Greek atrums)and I added modern greek onto them.)
