Chapter 4

Bucky smiled, a genuine smile, as he greeted Sam in the kitchen. He had glanced around before he approached the man, making sure he didnt see Sarah ir the boys before kissing Sam softly. "G'mornin Sammy" He whispered, smiling wider. The past three weeks had only made the older happier. He smiled more, his shoulders relaxed, he laughed more. Sam liked that last part the most. Buckys pearly whites shining as he laughed, head tilting back as his flesh hand held his chest.

Every day Sam fell in love with Bucky all over again. Those deep crystalline eyes aged with the man's years yet holding a certain young beauty to them. Those soft, naturally pink lips warm as they kissed. Sam felt trapped- the most comfortable connotation of the word possible- by Bucky's allure and nearly couldn't register what the man said. "-Hmm..? Oh- yeah, morning,"

"Gettin lost in all my beauty again?" He chuckled. He got a mug from the cabinet and poured himself a cup of coffee, adding the creamer to it till it was a caramel color. "How'd you sleep last night? I saw you in the kitchen around two." He asked, his voice gentler from before. Bucky hardly slept, something the other had brought up to him multiple times, but insomnia and the nightmares paid their toll. Luckily for him, being a super soldier and all, it hardly phased him.

'I mean you're not wrong-' Sam thought to say in retaliation, but decided against flirting back out of pure embarrassment. Hearing. Bucky's question Sam gulped near unnoticeably. "...Yeah I slept okay, I thought I heard something so I went to check."

Bucky nodded, getting the memo he didnt wanna talk about it. He took the new captains hand and pulled him to the couch. Behind doors, when he was with Sam, he became the biggest softy and cuddle bug. he pulled Sam down and cuddled into his side with a content sigh, holding his coffee mug in his one hand.

Sam rested his head in the crook of his boyfriend's neck, easily ignoring the juncture of muscle and metal. He didn't care about that- hell he couldn't care less. He would never understand how people would see Bucky as less of a man because of his metal arm. "Since when were you so good at hugs?" He asked softly, keeping his voice quiet as to not disturb the peaceful quiet of the morning hours.

"Since when was i not?" He snickered. "The only person ive hugged in the past 80 years besides you was Steve." He reminded. "My sister... Becka. She usesnto love my hugs. Shes younger than me, when i left for the army she was just 12. She used to curl up in my lap and fall asleep after dinner just cuz she liked my hugs." He smiled, nodding along to his words at the memory. He didnt talk about his famiky often, so Sam surely didnt know much. Becka had died before the Blip and he never got a chance to see her again. But he fekt like that was for the better. Tracking down his extended family, nieces and nephews and their kids, it felt like too much for what it was worth.

Sam nodded along to what Bucky said, feeling nothing but honored to say the least that Bucky revealed something so obviously personal. "Well now I can see why she liked them so much," Sam chuckled lightly.

Bucky huffed out a laugh and nodded, kidding Sams forehead. "I like em too... When its the right people."

"Oh my God yeah- You know how many fans have just randomly walked up to me and hugged me for a selfie or some shit? Way too many to count." Sam laughed.

Bucky scowled, but set his coffee down and wrapped his other arm around Sams middle. "Nah, this?-" He started, gesturing generally to Sam. "This is mine to cuddle." He mumbled, chuckling into Sams chest.

Sam could feel his face heat up from his cheeks up to the tips of his ears and suppressed the nervous laugh he felt coming on. "The feeling's mutual." He responded lovingly, leaning his head on Bucky's shoulder. Near the man, regardless of how dangerous he could be, Sam felt free to let his guard down.

Bucky flinched when he heard the door open, thinking about moving away but he stayed. Stayed safe in Sams arms, face smushed against his peck, metal arm tucked behind him and flesh one wrapped over the others waist. Sarah and the boys walked in, Bucky sighing softly.

Sam glanced at Bucky, as if silently asking if he knew what he was doing, but before he could pull away from the man he heard a snarky giggle from his sister. The kids didn't know what to think quite yet as they walked in.

Bucky looked to Sarah and blushed, turning his face to burrow into Sam further if possible. She was going to tease him non-stop, the woman having known about Buckys crush on Sam far before Sam did. "Heyy, how come Uncle Sam gets cuddles but you wont even hug me!" Cass whined, clueless.

"Is he your boyfriend? I don't think so." Sam decided to be snarky and straightforward instead of staying secretive. The kids were still young, their minds not yet marred by society, so he hoped this could help to teach them.

Bucky laughed at that, though a blush coated his cheeks. "Boyfriend?! Does that mean Mr. Buck id Uncle Bucky now?" AJ gasoed excitedly. "I- dont see why not-?" Bucky questioned.

Relief flooded Sam's heart. He was so thankful for the open minded innocence of children, as well as the knowledge that Sarah raised them to understand others that weren't like them. "Yep, it's official- Mr. Buck is Uncle Buck."

Bucky rolled his eyes abut sat up more, staying close to Sam. "Ima have to get used to that." He sighed, grinning. "What were you guys doin' outside?" He asked, leaning his head on Sams shoulder. It was the most relaxed any if them has seen him, so comfortable and vulnerable while feeling safe and secure. Shoulders un-tensed, body relaxed against Sams, a loose tanktop on that highlighted the black and gold metals of his arm.

"Well you see-" Cass started, only to be interrupted by his mother. "They were supposed to help clean the porch, but got into a water fight instead." Sarah cut in with a chuckle. "Been drying in the sun before we came back in."

Bucky nodded with a hum. "Fun. Sarah, i coulda done that, help clean the porch" He reminded. He wante dto help, do chores, be a good "guest" if he could even call it that anymore. Sam and him were together, and now Sarah and the boys knew. He still had to go get his cat, but he was staying here. So was it home? He didnt know yet.

"Nah you're okay, go on and spend time with loverboy over here." She flicked Sam's forehead- not roughly to the point it hurt, but playful enough to thoroughly annoy him. Which it definitely did.

Bucky snickered and rolled his eyes. "At least let me help with dinner later?" He called as she walked away. He looked to Sams pouting face and smiled, leaning up to kiss his forehead, muttering 'there, boo boo all better' before laughing more.

"Alrighty, but be careful. We got ourselves a new uncle, not a new butler!" Sarah called from the kitchen as the boys ran off to do their own thing. Sam still pouted, wanting to see if he could lie his way into another kiss. "It still hurts," He whined- it obviously didn't, he just loved when Bucky was affectionate.

"Oh boo hoo" He chuckled. "Youre a bad liar. You coulda just asked" He mumbled, leaning up once again to attatch their lips in a sweet and soft kiss. It sent sparks through Buckys body in the best way possible, and he only pulled away when he heard gags from the boys. He blushed but huffed another laugh.

"Eh, I'll get smooches either way so.." Sam giggled to himself after their lips parted. He didn't want things to move too fast, he knew that was the worst thing for a relationship, but he wished he could be all over Bucky every minute of every day. -Of course in the most chaste way possible, he didn't want his mind in the gutter.

"Youre an idiot." He laughed. "C'mon, why dont we get dressed play with the boys?" He suggested.

"Alright, but make sure to wear someting you're fine with getting dirty- kids are messy as hell." Sam fell into a happy silence after that, snuggling into Bucky's chest for a few more moments before regretfully getting up.

Bucky smiled and scratched the short curls at the nape of Sams neck, pouting when he got up. He huffed and groaned as he stood up, laughing at his own 'old man'-ness.

"Pthft-" Sam pursed his lips shut to keep himself from giggling, although his cheeks turned red slightly from him holding his breath. "Come on- let's go-" He forced out, and now it was obvious he was trying not to laugh.

"Oh shut up" He grumbled. "Must i remind you im a-hundred and six?" He shook his head with a smirk and lightly punched Sams arm, just a touch and a gentle shove.

"Nah, it's obvious trust me. I mean-" Sam cleared his throat and tried to recover from his rather insulting joke. "Besides the face- You don't look a day over- 30-" Damn it! Be smooth! He inwardly cursed himself.

Bucky rolled his eyes and shoved him towards Sams room, where their clothes were. Bucky would get changed in the bathroom, at least for the time being as they were exactly at that point in their relationship. "What do you think we should do with the boys?" He asked, sounding like the coolest gay uncle.

Sam chuckled at Bucky's reaction, halfway relieved that he didn't get a negative or offended one. He'd definitely have to practice more often, the damn 106 year old was smoother than he was! "Maybe we could actually do that yard work Sarah wanted them to do earlier?"

"Sounds like a plan. You sure youre not gonna end up fucking around like AJ and Cass?" He joked, laughing at himself. He pulled off his shirt before he got into the bathroom, the toned muscles over his back and abdomen on full display as he grabbed a clean tanktop, black instead of white. He grabbed some black jeans, aka the only color jeans he owned, and walked to the bathroom.

"I mean, I'm not gonna make any promises-" Sam cut himself off as he practically gawked at Bucky's physique, his jaw practically dropping to the floor. He couldn't pry his eyes away from his boyfriend's body and found his gaze going places he knew it shouldn't have. With Bucky out of sight, Sam rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, thoroughly disappointed with himself. What the hell was wrong with him? They were together barely two weeks and already his mind had slipped into the gutter. He would definitely chastise himself for it for a long, long time.
