Halo's power
A few days had passed since the training incident, in those days, Camila had been only training with Beatrice, she trained with Lilith once and she swears it was one of the scariest things she has ever done. One of those days, Beatrice had mentioned a special training day with Shannon, but Camila didn't think much of it. Until that day came.
It was a slightly cold morning, there was a strong wind and it looked like it was about to rain, but Beatrice didn't pay much attention to this; the three women were a few feet away from everyone else, Shannon was taking off her hoodie, with the Halo's power, she would be able to stay warm, the younger woman looked at her then back at Beatrice, who was fixing the mat on the floor, "Bea, what are we going to do?", the younger girl asked, Beatrice was caught off guard by the nickname, she looked up to Camila and smiled, "We're going to train", she answered, walking towards Shannon, "Shannon wanted to show you the Halo and its powers, in a fight, it's important for you to know how to fight with Shannon on your team", the older woman explained as she adjusted her hair in a bun. Shannon nodded as she tied her shoelaces, "So, basically, we'll fight Beatrice", the Halo bearer said as she rested her hands on Camila's shoulder.
The three women stepped on the mat, Beatrice looked back at them and her smile disappeared, a serious look appearing on her face, "Don't hold back, Camila, I won't go so easy on you", Shannon looked at Beatrice, who nodded her head at her, the Halo bearer relaxed her shoulder before running to Beatrice, phasing through her and grabbing her arms, Camila just looked at her amazed, surprised by the Halo's power, "Camila what are you-", Shannon was cut off by Beatrice, who managed to free her arms, she grabbed one of Shannon's and did a shoulder throw, causing Shannon to fall on the mat with her back, she didn't move for a few seconds, she just stayed there looking at the sky, "You alright?", Beatrice asked, offering a hand, which Shannon took, standing up and looking at Camila a little pissed, "Why didn't you move?", she asked, Camila just looked at her, a little fear showing in her eyes, Shannon took a step closer, Camila took a step back. The Halo bearer took a deep breath and walked away, looking back at Beatrice, "I got surprised by the, you know, phasing thing", the younger girl admitted in a shy tone, Shannon looked at her once more, her expression changing into a soft smile, "Right, I forgot, I'm sorry", she answered, Camila nodded before looking at Beatrice, this time she relaxed her shoulder and moved her feet a little, "I'm ready", she said, Shannon nodded and looked back at Beatrice.
Shannon tried to replicate the movement she did before, but this time Beatrice was ready, before the Halo bearer could phase, Beatrice grabbed her by the shoulder and hit her in the stomach with her knee, Camia wasted no time, she noticed how Beatrice was mainly focused on Shannon, so she took that chance and punched her as hard as she could on the stomach, Beatrice kneeled and Shannon took advantage of this, grabbing Beatrice by the neck of her shirt, pulling her towards her, the Halo bearer moved to the side and pushed Beatrice, making her fall on the mat on her back. Shannon got on top of Beatrice and smiled, but Beatrice wouldn't give up that easily, she moved her hips up, which caught Shannon off guard, Beatrice quickly switched their positions, ending on top of Shannon, she was struggling to grab Shannon's hands when Camila tried to kick her, she grabbed the younger girl's leg and pulled it, causing Camila to fall on top of Shannon. Beatrice got up and cleaned the sweat off her face, Camila got up and tired to punch Beatrice, but the older woman dodged or blocked all of her punches, Shannon got up and this time she was able to phase through Beatrice, once again grabbing her from behind, Camila didn't miss this chance to hit her in the stomach a few times before Beatrice stepped on Shannon's right foot, causing the Halo bearer to free her, Beatrice kicked Camila on her right knee, making her kneel for just a moment, she did a spin and Shannon knew what she was about to do, Beatrice was about to kick Camila right on the face when Shannon did a Halo pulse, causing Beatrice to fall out of the mat. Mary looked their way when she heard someone fell, she looked at Camila and then at Shannon, and her jaw dropped, Shannon was sweating and panting, Mary couldn't help but stare at her for a few long moments before she focused once more on her activities
"Bea! You okay? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to", she quickly apologized, she kneeled in front of Beatrice and looked at her worried, Beatrice sat up slowly, dizzy from hitting her head on the floor, she shook her head and smiled, "I'm alright, don't worry, let's take five minutes", Beatrice suggested, standing up slowly and sitting on the nearest bench, she took her bottle of water and drank, slowly starting to feel better. Camila approached Shannon and looked at her with wide eyes and a big smile, "That was amazing! What else can you do?", she asked, excitement in her voice, Shannon chuckled and took, out of her hoodie pocket, a broken Divinium blade, she held it in her hand and showed it to Camila, the younger woman looked at her hand, waiting, Shannon chuckled a bit as the Halo started to shine and she slowly started to melt the Divinium, drops of the blue meta fell to the floor. Camila gasped and got closer to the Halo bearer's hand to see it better, "That is so cool! The Halo shines every time you use it? What else can you do?", she asks, even more excited than before, Shannon drops the blade and looks around, thinking of something else to do.
Beatrice laughs a bit and gets up, she puts a hand on Camila's shoulder and looks at Shannon, "Should we go back to training?", she asks, Camila shook her head and looked back at Beatrice, "I wanna see what else she can do, this is the first time I see this stuff, I want to see more", Camila explained, giving Beatrice puppy eyes, Beatrice was about to answer when she felt drops of water starting to fall, she looked up and noticed it started to rain, Camila was about to put the hood of her hoodie when suddenly, she didn't feel the rain anymore, she saw some golden light and looked at Shannon, seeing that the woman had made some kind of shield to cover them from the rain, she smiled , completely amazed by the shield, suddenly, the shield disappeared, Shannon lowered her arm and took a deep breathe, "Sorry, ran out of energy", Shannon explained as she grabbed her hoodie, Camila looked up to the sky and some drops fell on her face, she just chuckled before starting to spin, Beatrice looked at her with a smile and walked towards her, "You are going to fall Camila, come on, let's go inside", she said, grabbing Camila by the shoulders and leading her inside Cat's Cradle, Shannon stayed behind, enjoying the feeling of the water, Mary also stayed behind, once everyone else was inside, she took Shannon's hand and kissed her palm, "You look beautiful", she said with a soft smile, Shannon hugged her and kissed her on the lips, Mary smiled at this and kissed her once more, a few more times, before they heard some footsteps, they pulled away and saw Camila staring at them, "Are you two coming in? We already served the food", she says in a shy tone, knowing she interrupted something, Shannon nodded her head, "We'll be there in a sec, you go ahead", she said, Camila smiled and nodded before going to the dining hall to eat.
She saw between Beatrice and Lilith and started to eat, "What's going on between Shannon and Mary?", she asked, Beatrice and Shannon exchanged looks before Beatrice coughed a bit, "I'm not sure I understand what you mean by that", she answered, Lilith just stayed silent, "Are, are they, you know, a thing?", she whispered to Beatrice, but Lilith was able to hear it too, she stared at Beatrice, looks were exchanged once more, Beatrice went back to eating, and so did Lilith, the younger girl was confused, but she understood why they did it, "They look happy together", Camila whispered once more, Lilith chuckled a little and looked at her, "They do", that's all she answered, the three women kept eating in silence.
When it was night, Camila was in her room, reading a book, when she heard a knock on her door, she got up and opened, seeing Shannon standing in front of her with a worried look, Camila let her in and sat on the bed, allowing Shannon to sit on a chair next to her bed, "So, Beatrice told me that, you thought Mary and I were a thing", she said, Camila nodded shyly, "Truth is, we are, but please don't tell anyone, we don't know how everyone else would react", she continued, Camila shook her head and smiled, "I won't, don't worry, just so I know, who else knows you're a couple?", she asked, noticing how Shannon relaxed, "Just Lilith, Beatrice and Mother Superion, and obviously, now you", the younger girl nodded before giving Shannon a soft smile, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone", she reassured, Shannon didn't waste a second to hug her, the Halo shining and warming both of them, "This is really cozy", said Shannon, making Camila smile. "Tomorrow you will show me more of the Halo, right?", Camila asked as they pulled away, Shannon chuckled and nodded before standing up to leave the room, "Sleep well, Camila, goodnight", she said before leaving the room, Camila got ready on the bed and fell asleep, a little bit of the Halo's warmth on the room and in her body, she slept really well that night, excited for the next day.
