Don't touch him

Everything was dark, and the alarms were going off in the Hydra base. Hydra soldiers were filling out shooting guns at them as Steve Rogers/Captain America led the attack.

This was one of the main bases that they had uncovered and they were going full in to try to dismantle Hydra.

But it seemed like they had been expecting them as piles upon piles of Hydra soldiers came pouring out.

“Widow and Hulk take care of them” Captain America ordered, causing them to nod. “Iron man with me, and everyone else clear a pathway and make sure that no one interrupts us” They all nodded as they got to fighting the soldiers.

It wasn’t easy to get past the horde of soldiers, but they were able to as they ran towards the control center where they knew that they could shut it all down.

And it would have been fine had Captain America not been completely thrown back by a small figure.

It was a small figure dressed in all black as they crawled across the ceiling.

“That has got to be the creepiest shit I’ve seen” Tony said as he lifted a hand and pulsar as he shot it at the being? Person? They weren’t so sure when it came to Hydra’s experiments.

But the figure was quick to move as they shot something at him and he was surprised as he was suddenly glued to the wall.

Everything was going so quick as he tried to get out of the trap and Captain America and the figure came to blows, if they were able to keep up with the Captain then that meant that they were strong.

“Give up, we’re not here to hurt you-- we can help--” And he was punched in the face hard.

“They’re not going to listen to you Cap, better to take them out than to try to reason with them. Tony said as he continued to struggle to get out of what he started to decipher were spider webs.

The figure was quiet as he stared at the two and continued to have blows with Steve, not deteriorating.

“We do not have time for this!” Tony shouted as he managed to free one of his hands and he aimed it at the figure that was preoccupied with the Captain and he fired.

Hitting the figure on the back causing them to drop to their knees, and as Steve was about to restrain them, he was struck by a fist that sent him flying and a lance launched itself towards Tony, completely crushing his armor.

They both let out a breath, shocked as the breath was taken out of them and they were barely able to look up to see what was going on.

Another figure had stood in front of the black covered figure, this time it was a young teenage girl. She was wearing a hospital gown, and the IV and other things were still plugged in to her. But it seemed like she escaped.

She was a little taller than the other figure, their brown hair was matted with blood, their brown eyes were red, and they weren’t wearing any shoes.

The one thing that gave away that she was the one that had attacked them was the fact that she was glowing. And the spear that had launched itself on Tony disappeared as soon as it approached her.

She was glaring at them as she turned to the other figure and began to communicate via sign language, something Tony was a little rusty on.

‘Are you okay?’

‘Fine, why are you here? You’ll get hurt’

It seemed like the smaller figure was scolding the young girl who gave them a blank look as she continued asking if they were sure that they were okay.

Steve didn’t take long to recover as he stood up and began to approach them, his hands up.

“Look we don’t want to hurt you all, we just need to take down this base, let us through and we won’t--” He didn’t get to finish as the young girl shouted in a gutteral way, like she hadn’t used her vocals in years.

“Leave. Us. Alone!” She shouted as she lifted her arms and they were both lifted and she put her hands together and they slammed to each other.

It was a bit embarrassing to be getting their ass handed to them by a young girl. As they gathered their senses, they could see her stand protectively over the smaller figure.

But then they noticed how she trembled, even though she tried to make herself bold and angry, in the end she was scared. She was still a young and scared girl who probably just wanted to protect herself and her friend.

And while Tony wanted nothing but to give her a piece of his mind, she was still a child, and he could see that Steve had noticed that too as his voice became softer, one he used when it came to victims of severe violence.

“We’re not the bad guys, we’re the Avengers, and we help people,” He said as she glared at him with her hands turned into fists. She glanced around like she was afraid of being scolded or told that what she was doing was wrong, like when a young kid was sent to the principal's office, only dialed up to the extreme.

“We aren’t here to hurt you--- we can help you get out of here, just let us pass, so that we can shut this down and our friends outside don’t get overridden by Hydra soldiers” he said, causing her to glare at him.

“He. hurt. Him” She emphasized as she turned to Tony who tried to look a bit sheepish.

“Hey, in my defense he attacked us first--” A glare from Steve shut him up.

“Bad people. Hurt people” She said like she was reciting a broken record.

“I’m sorry he hurt your friend, it was a big misunderstanding” Steve said, causing her to stare at him. The alarms were getting louder and they could hear footsteps of soldiers coming.

“We don’t have much time Cap” Tony said, causing Steve to stare at the young girl who turned to the smaller figure.

“Safe?” She asked them like they could differentiate if they were good people or not by just looking at them, but given she was able to move things with her mind, that wasn’t the weirdest thing that could have happened.

The figure stared at them for about fifteen seconds as the soldiers came closer and Captain America and Tony had to get ready to try to fight a horde of them.

After fifteen seconds he gave a brief nod and it was like a go switch was activated as she released them motioning them with her head.

“Go. We. stop. Soldiers” She said and before Steve could protest, Tony pulled him forward, it seemed like they would serve as a distraction.

“We have to hurry, and get them out” Steve shouted causing Tony to grumble in agreement, he was a bit peeved that he was tossed like a tin can, but nodded. But first they had to shut down the command center, they didn’t look back but could hear the sound of vicious fighting and Hydra soldiers being thrown around like rag dolls.

It didn’t take long to destroy as Tony was really good at destroying just as much as he was good at creating.

So in a couple minutes the whole room was ready to detonate in seconds.

“Let’s go!” Tony shouted as he motioned at Steve who shook his head.

“We can’t leave them here. They’re clearly just kids” He said as he stubbornly went towards where they were but Tony pulled him away.

“This will blow in seconds, come on!” It took a lot to drag the super soldier away. And even then they barely made it out as the base exploded.

Thankfully they were rescued by the other Avengers.

“We have to scout the debris, there are still two people---” Steve went on a rant and they stared at him as he gave them orders to look through the debris, most of them confused but still doing what they were told.

“Cap!” It was Hawkeye who called them all over as he observed there being movement below the rubble.

Hulk was about to help when the rubble erupted, and two figures emerged, the young girl had her hands up but she looked to be even more banged up than when they had last seen her.

And the smaller figure, they could see them more, as their mask was torn, it was a young teen boy, with curly brown hair and brown eyes, he looked concerned as the young girl slumped forward, seemed like she had taken in more of the blast and protected him.

He stared at them, his eyes wide, and the only thing that came out of his mouth was one word.

“Help” before he too slumped forward.
