The Girl Of My Dreams
"My god... well I'm happy you were able to bring yourself back on your feet." Kali smiles. Pouring some tea for Yang.
Yang wasn't a tea person. In fact she didn't like tea, but she didn't want to seem like disrespectful type. She drinks the tea, and tried to pretend to act like she's cool with it.
She's not subtle about it. It made Blake giggle. "Yang I know you don't like tea. We do have other drinks you know?"
"Sorry. I didn't want to be disrespectful about it." Yang laughs nervously.
"We have juice and soda. Though, if I may ask, have you ever tried any Menagerie food?" Kali tilts her head a bit in curiosity.
"No, no I haven't. I've not tried anything out of Vale or Atlas." The blonde answers, and she notices the faunus tensing up.
"Atlas huh... I heard that's where you two met." Kali frowns a bit. It's clear that most faunus aren't all that fond of Atlas.
"Yep! I met her at the Cafe. I think she was a little wary of me but eventually we both got along... and uh. I still hope we still do." Yang glances at Blake who wasn't smiling. She's lost in thought, thinking about what to even say to Yang. This was too soon, Blake wasn't ready and didn't want this to happen, but at the same time, she's glad it did. It's hard to take the first step. But now that's been dealt with, Blake doesn't have to worry about being away for too long.
"Yo! Yang. Catch." Sun throws a water bottle towards Yang. To who she catches.
"Thanks!" Yang called out. Opening it and drinking from it. Sighing in pleased tone. "But wow, Who would've thought Blake would be the princess of Menagerie?"
Blake rolled her eyes and took Yang's smirk off her face by gently elbowing her. Making Yang giggle. "It's nothing like that."
"Mhhh I might have to start calling you Princess~" Yang grins.
"Please don't call me that. That's Weiss's name anyways."
"True." Yang sips from her water. She then noticed Ilia up against the wall staring at her. Yang waves with a smile, but then was disappointed when Ilia walked away.
Yang leans to the side towards Blake. "Hey uh, Does Ilia have something against me? Did I do something wrong?" Yang whispered. Blake leans in.
"I have no idea uh... I- I think it's because you're a human." Blake whispered back with a lie. She knows why Ilia is all pissy.
"Oh. Make sense. Hopefully she'll warm up to me. I mean, who doesn't like me!" Yang puts her hand on her hips while smirking, feeling all proud. Making Blake giggle.
"Yeah... I hope so too." Blake drinks her tea.
"Oh shoot! I didn't even think to bring any sleeping gear. Er... do you guys have a hotel nearby?" Yang nervously smiles.
"Ah no need. You are always welcome here. You saved my daughter-"
"Technically it's Weiss who did so..." Yang interrupts Kali.
"But you welcomed her into your home. You've given her happiness. I see you as an important friend of Blake's. You can stay here." Kali smiles.
"Really? Thank you so much Kali." Yang smiles.
"You can stay in Blake's room if that's okay with Blake and Ilia?" Kali tilts her head a bit.
"I- I'm okay with it. I-Im sure Ilia is okay with it." Blake nervously smiles. She knows Ilia would be upset, but Blake doesn't have any choice. She can't cause suspicion.
"Wonderful! And you're just in time too Yang. We are having a festival this week! It'll be starting the day after tomorrow! We'll have to teach you kids the traditions." Kali let out a squeal of excitement.
"Ooo, what's the festival for?"
"Here, I'll show you." Kali gets up and went to the cardboard box that was full of festival stuff. Kaki pulls out a scroll and she opens it, laying it on the table. Yang got up to get a look at the scroll, showing an art of two dragons
"It's to show our thanks to the two gods. Dragon Gods of Darkness and Light. The balance between good and evil. The two faunus created humans and faunus." Kali explains.
"Whoa..." Yang was fascinated. "What do you guys do for the festival? I'd love to be a part of it. That way I can understand it." Yang looks at Blake with a smile.
Blake blushes a bit. Yang wanted to learn more about her culture and it made Blake happy.
"Well, each day, we have a main activity. But before that, tomorrow we will have a day where we work together as a family to decorate the town, then later before the sun lowers, we go to the gods, giving them our thanks and once we do that, the festival then officially begins." Kali then pulls out kimonos from the box.
"Then! The day after that is where it gets fun. We'll have the main road cleared, where there'll be stalls for shopping, food, and many more. We have mini games as well, buts that's usually for later after the sun goes down. Do you have a kimono Yang?"
"No... I do not."
"Then we'll definitely go shopping! Oh hoho! I'm so excited!" Kali did a little excited dance.
"The list goes on. We take this festival seriously. There'll be traditional food and activities... speaking if which, Blake have you been practicing?" Ghira questions.
"Sorta. I'm still not the greatest. Do I really have to dance?" Blake was a bit embarrassed.
Dance?
Dance?! Blake dancing?
"Ooo, I'd love to see that." Yang smiles. She saw a faint smile on Blake's face.
"Dude this sounds fun as hell!" Sun exclaimed. Ghira glares.
"We do have rules though, and one being is, no using foul language." Ghira states. Making Sun laugh nervously.
"This will be fun, now that I'm here too, I bet it'll be even better." Yang said. Looking at Blake specifically.
"If that's the case, then you can dance with me."
"Wha-"
Blake got up and grabbed Yang by the hands. Yang blushes a bit and she's being led by Blake. "So basically... we dance like..."
Blake spent an hour explaining and practicing with Yang, and it was the best time Yang has had. Lots of laughter. It did certainly break the tension between them. Blake feels like she can relax now.
An hour, and Yang feels that she's getting more and more embarrassed. Now that she finally noticed the familiar feeling of love towards Blake. Blake feels the same way... but... there was two things holding her back.
Trauma. Blake is too afraid to get in a relationship again. Worry she'll get hurt again. Blake knows that Yang would do no such things but... accidents can happen.
Another is Ilia. Blake is too afraid to say she has feelings for Yang, and break her dear friend's heart. Blake doesn't want to lose anyone.
So in conclusion, Blake is scared.
And she's not sure when she'll be brave about it again.
Blake was in her bedroom reading a book while Ilia plays game on her phone. Yang just left the shower and went to the bedroom.
"Yo." Yang smiles.
"Hey. Enjoy your shower?" Blake closes her book, setting it aside.
"Indeed I did. You guys have a lot of natural stuff. Natural shampoo and conditioner, and my hair feels amazing! Feel it! It's so soft!" Yang leaned her head down a bit. Letting the faunus run her fingers through Yang's Beautiful curly hair.
"Yeah. It is." Blake smiles. "It's the best kind out there. Though it's expensive to buy if you're in another country. I was so sad I couldn't buy some when I was staying in Atlas."
"Yeah, I might have to buy some here to bring home. I love it." Yang sat on the bed, stretching.
"Your room looks really comfortable. Cleaner then mine still."
"Oh my mother would be on my ass if this room wasn't clean. She may look sweet, but don't ever get on her bad side." Blake grins.
"Note taken."
"Do you have better things to do?"
Yang and Blake looks over at the bed that was on the floor, where Ilia was. Yang scowls a bit before sighing a bit.
"I think we got off the wrong foot." Yang got off to stand by Ilia. "My name is Yang." Yang held her hand out, but to her dismay, Ilia smacks it away.
"Okay, what is your deal?" She's frustrated now. Blake could only sit at her bed, scared to jump in.
"You. You're the main deal. I absolutely hate you."
"I haven't even been around for a day with you! How could you possibly be so pissy with me already! I've been nice to you guys!" Yang looks down at Ilia, who stood up. Her scales were red.
"Guys... please-"
"I don't know why you're here! You hurt Blake! You're a human! I don't get what Blake sees in you! I bet you're just like Adam! Being a-"
"DONT COMPARE ME TO THAT ASSHOLE!!!" Yang shouted, if the world had magic, there would've been fire coming out her mouth. Like she's on fire.
Yang was furious.
"Well my fucking apologies! No humans has done anything good to us! I don't want you near BLAKE!"
"You're being ridiculous! I get the part about humans but you are completely shutting me out! You're not even giving me a chance!"
"I don't have to give you a chance! I know you will hurt her again! You made her depressed! You gave her panic attacks! You made her suffer because she was so damn guilty over you! You're the reason she suffered!"
"No..." Yang stood up straight. Having a clear on serious expression. "I thought it was my fault at first, but now that I fully understand, it's nobody but Adam's fault. He ruined everything. He's the reason behind everything. The start of Blake's pain."
"But you're a part of it!"
"So? Life is still going. We can't just let the past hold us back. Bad things happened, but you know what? We will get back on our feet. And keep going. Adam is dead. This is all over. Blake is finally free and she can actually live her life however she wants."
Ilia scoffed. "I bet you'll be the next Adam." Ilia walked in Yang, bumping her arm as she left Blake's room.
"I swear to God that gi- Blake...?"
Yang's eyes widened. Blake was crying. Knee up to her chest. She's staring at her feet. Her eyes are wide, and her hands are shaking.
Shit...
"Blake." Yang immediately got on bed. She held Blake's shoulder. Barely any reaction. Yang called out to Blake's name again. Nothing. What's happening? This isn't a panic attack or... anything.
Yang was worried. "I'll be right back... I'm going to figure out how I can help you." Yang said before she left the room.
"Kali? Something is wrong with Blake!" Yang exclaimed. Kali's ears perk up.
"She's frozen and isn't responding to me at all. She's just, staring at her feet all wide eye." Yang explains and Kali's ears went down.
"Ah." Kali took a deep breath. "PTSD can do a lot of things to a person. Mentally and Physically. Have you ever heard of dissociation?" Kali questioned. Yang shakes her head.
"It's basically where you feel like you've lost connection with yourself. Where nothing feels real and you just feel numb. It can be triggered by things. She had one last week. I'm still unsure what triggered it but Sun thinks it's because Blake saw the gun that her father owns."
Yang was stunned. Dissociation? Oh Blake... "How can I help her?"
"I'm not sure. It was our first time seeing Blake experience it. From what she told me, she's had for... years. Probably 4. I'm sorry Yang." Kali frowns.
"No... its okay. I'll try stuff. I'm not going to let her suffer." Yang said before she heads back to Blake's room, gently getting on the bed. She took Blake's hands, holding them tightly.
"Blake. Hey. I'm here for you. I've always been. I'll be right here. You're okay." Yang spoke with a comforting tone to it. She moved her fake hand to Blake's chin, making her head lift up, having Blake look at Yang.
"Hey there gorgeous." Yang smiles. Blake takes in a shaky breath. "I... really don't know how I'm supposed to help you but I'm willing to try so... uh..." Yang thinks about it, before getting an idea.
"Hey Blake. Can you hear me? If you can uh... think about the day where I was teaching you how to ride Gambol? How fun that was?" She noticed Blake's pupil dilate a bit.
"Oooh... what about how Ruby and us had an eating contest and I ended up choking?" Yang then laughs a bit. "Poor dad was freaking out." Blake's ear twitched a bit.
"Hm... oh yeah. I'm looking forward to the dance and festival. I think it'll be a lot of fun. Just something good for us. All of us. I'm more excited to see you dance though. I bet you'll look absolutely great and do amazing."
Blake took in a deep breath. She finally actually looks at Yang. "Ah, welcome back miss gorgeous. How are you doing?" Yang grins.
"Y-Yang..."
"Hey. I'm here." Yang scoots up close to pull Blake into a hug. "I wish you told me about this sooner, otherwise I'd been researching and finding ways to how I can help you. You deserve so much better things. You really do."
"Yang..."
Blake started to cry again. Shit did Yang do something wrong? She then felt Blake's arms wrap around Yang.
"You back?" Yang questioned. Blake doesn't say anything. Yang continues to tell Blake good memories and funny stories while keeping a tight embrace.
"Yang.. I- I'm sorry. I wish you didn't have to see me like this." Blake pulls away.
"Hey, it's okay. It's like what your mother said. Trauma can cause a lot of things. Uh, if you don't mind me asking, did you ever have one over at my house?"
Blake nods. "Yeah... people often. Mistake dissociation as zoning out. Sorry for worrying you Yang." Blake felt guilty, till Yang caressed her cheek, her ears perking up.
"No need to be sorry. Not your fault. I'm sorry I was being loud..."
Blake frowns a bit. She puts her hand on Yang's hand. "C-Can we take a stroll around? I... I would like to talk to you privately."
"Of course. Let me go get my shoes. I'll be outside." Yang smiles, moving away to head out. Blake sat there. Taking in a deep breath.
No one has ever been able to snap her out of her dissociation, till today. Yang. Blake got off and left her room.
"Oh Blake...! How are you feeling?" Kali saw Blake and gave her a smile.
"I'm doing okay, I'm going for a walk with Yang. I'll be back soon." Blake said, Kali nods before putting back her reading glasses and going back to reading her book.
"Man, I know the sun isn't all the way down but does it really have to be this hot?" Yang fans herself with her hand. Making Blake giggle.
"Welcome to Menagerie."
"Yeah... no shit." Yang chuckles. "But this is certainly nice. Though would be nice if people could stop eyeing at me. Look at me. I'm a human but we're practically the same!... well. If you exclude the animal parts." Yang stood in front of Blake to do a little spin.
"We're all the same. But I'm not going to push people to trust me. They have their reasons. And I respect them." Yang smiles. Walking backwards. Blake smiles a bit before she looks out at the view of the orange/blue ocean, sparkling as the water moves.
"Yang. I want to ask you some questions."
"Hit me." Yang then slowed down to walk along side by Blake. Noticing Blake's folded ears.
"Why did you look for me? Didn't I ruin your life? I'm the reason you're traumatized and you have an amputated arm. I brought Adam into your life and... how could you ever forgive me...? I don't get it... I'm just confused." Blake questioned.
"Blake. Look at me."
Blake turns her head to look at Yang, seeing that same smile that alway seems to shine brighter then the sun. Beaming with happiness in them, but almost having comfort in them.
"You're important to me. Before I met you, I only had Weiss as my friend. I constantly pushed people away, because I'm afraid of being hurt again, but as soon as I met you, there was this... spark. Like, I knew we would get along. If that makes sense."
Blake nods, her ears slowly perking up as she listens to Yang explain.
"The only time you hurt me is when you ran away. I was here for you, and I was never angry at you. I'm just, scared of being abandoned. But I'm glad you ran away."
"Wh-Wha?" Blake blinks in confusion.
"I was not in a good mental state. It would be painful to have you here. For both of us. I would absolutely hate seeing you see me be so... broken. I'm glad you didn't have to see that." Yang looks at the dirt path they were taking.
"What I'm saying is, you mean so much to me, and it's not fair for me to just leave you alone. I made a promise that I'd never let anyone experience the pain I experienced. And I'm still holding onto that. I also wanted to be here for you, because I know you suffered. You suffered more then I did."
"Yang..." Blake breathed out. She then felt Yang hold her hand. Her cheeks warming up a bit when she looked. But...
The moment she looked back at Yang, her entire world felt slow. Holding her breathe.
Yang was looking at Blake with a smile, her hair flowing along with the gentle wind, the sun shining on her, like as if she's the sun.
"I really enjoy having you around Blake. And I'd do anything to make sure we stayed connected. So that we can be here for each other." Yang's hand tightens. "Because thats..." She pauses "-what I want with you. I want to support you... and I hope you'll do the same. After all, it's all about giving and taking. Being fair to each other. Right?"
Blake gulps. She nods.
Fuck she's falling in love. Oh how she hates how love feels sometimes. Blake doesn't even remember her other questions. Damn that blonde.
"Blake?"
"Y-Yeah. Sorry. I'm just. Still processing on what you just said. You really... nevermind. Thanks you. U-Uh..next question." Blake nervously laughs, brushing her bangs out of her face.
"I know, you said you're not mad at me... so, are we okay?"
"It's gonna take a while for things to feel like it's back to normal but I'm just glad you're doing okay. I missed you so much." Yang answers.
"I missed you too."
Then there was a comfortable silence. They've not let go of each other, in fact their grip tightened. Not wanting to ever let go.
And they both were content with that.
"So, uh. Damn, I hate to bring this up now but, what's with Ilia? I feel like it's so much more that I don't know about. I get she's worried about you but she seems... really overprotective of you." Yang brought up, and Blake immediately stops in track, causing Yang to stop.
"Blake?"
"Yang... I..." Blake tears up. "I'm not single... Ilia is my... girlfriend. But now, I- I don't feel the same way to her anymore and I don't have the confidence to tell her I want to break up... she loves me so much... and I don't want to hurt anyone anymore..." Blake rubbed her eyes, trying to get rid of the tears.
"I... I see. Well... it'll just be more painful if you wait, I think you should just tell her and not pretend anymore." Yang suggested.
"I- I can't. She'll break. I know she will. I'm all she has." Blake sobs. Yang frowns and pulls Blake into a hug.
"I can't force you to do anything, so it's up to you of how you want to do this. I really think you should just do it now and get it over with... but that's your choice." Yang kissed Blake's head. Comforting her. Oh how she wished she could say I love you.
"Thank you..." Blake smiles as she hugs.
"Not a problem. But damn I guess you beat me to it. I would've have not thought you'd be dating someone. You're 1# lesbian now."
"Y-Yang I'm bi-"
"Bi. Sorry. My bad."
"What do you even mean by that?" Blake laughed. Yang chuckles a bit.
The tension between them was gone. They both felt so much better now.
Blake finds herself falling more in love with Yang.
Yang is the girl of her dreams.
and Blake is the girl of Yang's dreams.
Only if they both were brave enough to confess. But the past was holding them back.
"How... could you Blake...?" Ilia sobbed, but there was anger. So much anger. She had been watching Blake from afar to get the answers. And she got them.
Blake has been cheating on her, and Ilia was going to make sure that the blonde pays for it. That stupid blonde took Blake away from Ilia!
"Yang deserves nothing... why would any faunus date her? This... this so stupid...! I'm going to ruin her life... no humans deserve anything! Especially Blake...!" Ilia then ran off.
