Two Hearts as One
Blake was on a ladder helping decorate her home with decorations for the festival. It's been forever since she's had one with her family. 6 years.
Blake knows that she's missed a lot of things. The times with her parents. She can remember how shy she was with the other faunus. Crying to her mother when she didn't want to dance.
"Sun! Hand me that stream please." Blake called out. She went down a few steps to reach for the steam Sun was holding out for. She thanked him and kept decorating.
"So uhh... wheres Yang?" Sun questioned. Blake smiles.
"She's being dragged around by my mother. They're shopping for a kimono."
"Your mother really likes her huh?" Sun has an amused look on his face.
"Yeah. She already liked her before even meeting Yang." Blake said as she climbs down the ladder to move it. There was a comforting silence. Minutes goes by and Blake starts to think about Yang. She looks to her left, seeing Ilia help decorate.
Blake is scared. She's not sure if she can do this at all. Ilia deserves to know. But... Blake is just so scared to lose more people.
"Mwah~"
Blake nearly jumps when Ilia gives Blake a surprise kiss on the cheek. How did she not notice her?
"I-Ilia." Blake rubs her cheek with her arm. She's unable to make eye contact with Ilia.
"Blake...?" Ilia held Blake's hands. "You know that I'll always love you. I'll always be here for you. I'll make sure no one ever hurts you again." Ilia smiles.
What...?
"Ilia... Thank you but, I'm okay. Plus it's my own burden."
"But there's nothing wrong with asking for help! You were a mess when I saw you again! And look at you. You're all better." The grip tightens. Blake's shoulders tenses up. "Hey. Why don't we take a break and go get something to eat?" Ilia suggested.
"I- well." Blake's stomach growls. It was enough to convince Blake to agree. She nods and immediately she's being dragged by Ilia.
"H-Hey! Am I not invited!? Don't leave me with your father Blake! HE MIGHT KILL ME IN MY SLEEP!" Sun runs after Blake and Ilia, who was giggling as she ran. It made Blake laugh. Especially after what Sun said.
"Mgh tus so gud." Ilia was eating. They had gotten street food. Blake got herself some curry fish balls. They were chatting while walking back to the Mansion.
"WOO!!! ANOTHER SCORE!"
Blake's ears perk up at that familiar voice. She looks around, eventually seeing a playful field. She saw Yang, and she stops in her track.
Yang was playing soccer with the faunus kids. That big ol smile on Yang's face. It always brought Blake's spirits up.
"Passing it to you!"
Yang kicks the ball to the bird girl. The faunus kicks the ball into goal. Yang cheered with the faunus.
"No fair! Humans don't count!" A kid complained.
Yang stuck her tongue at the kid."mmgh" before laughing. "One more match! I bet you can't beat me!" Yang challenged. The dog faunus accepted the challenge and the kids + Yang played another soccer match.
During that process, it reminded Blake of Ruby and Yang roughhousing. She smiles a bit. Blake looks at her phone. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to call Weiss. After all Yang did say Weiss and Ruby went to Atlas.
So she calls Weiss... after a few ringing, Weiss never picked up. That made Blake a bit confused. Weiss always picks up. She would've thought Weiss pick up with no hesitation. She looks up to watch Yang.
Though unfortunately the faunus used their traits and won a match.
"Noooooo...." Yang frowns. She sighs before smiling again and she crouched down. Holding a fist.
"Good game." She gave the kids a fist bump before Yang started to head out. Till she noticed Blake near the entrance of the playground.
Blake then notices a faunus nearby with a newspaper. She looks at the cover. A picture of a car crash and there was a text on the paper that said... "Daughter of Sch-
"Blaaakkkee!!!" Yang exclaimed and ran up to her. She then pulled a fish ball from the skewer and ate one.
"H-Hey!" Blake complained. Yang looks a bit confused when she was chewing. "Yang?"
"Mgh- is- its good." Yang swallows it and has a nervous smile. Blake noticed the small tears forming. Ah.
"Oh Yang... if you can't handle this, you're not gonna survive this week. We often eat spicy food."
"Whaaa? Nooo I'm gooooddd." Yang had a thumbs up. "I'm too hot to be affected by it!"
"Uh huh." Blake was amused. She then points her skewer at Yang. "Then why don't you finish this? I'm full. I'm sure you've not eaten lunch yet after being dragged by my mother."
"Thank you! Uh-" Yang took the skewer. She ate another fish ball. Blake decided to go to a vending machine to get a drink. Getting a soda before returning to Yang. Just as Blake expected, the poor farm girl was suffering. It did make Blake laugh a bit.
"Here you go you goof." Blake hands Yang a drank, to which she immediately drinks. "Regret being brave?"
"N-Nope." Yang strains. She finishes the bottle. Letting out a sigh of relaxation. "I gotta build up the spice toleration somehow."
"Don't try to kill yourself in the process." Blake pokes at Yang and they both giggle. "Where is my mom?"
"She told me she's shopping. For where she is now, I don't know." Yang shrugs. There was an awkward silence, so Blake decided to break that. She held Yang's prosthetic hand and kissed it, winking at Yang.
"I'll be going Yang. See you later sunshine." Blake said before she walks away, waving.
"Sunshine? Wh- hu- s- SUNSHINE?!" Yang loudly whispered to herself. Her face was pink. She held her cheek in embarrassment. God damnit why was she so soft about this kind of stuff?
"So... now my girlfriend is cheating on me for a human?"
Yang turns around to see Ilia with her arms crossed. Yang sighed. "She's not cheating on you. We aren't intimate nor are we dating."
"Ah, don't play dumb with me. I saw everything. Just what do you think you're doing?!" Ilia shouted. Yang quietly groans at herself. She doesn't want to deal with this.
"Ilia why are you so pissy about this?!"
"You are taking the only person I have in my life away. I'm not going to let that happen. Listen here. I will make sure whatever this, relationship you two have, doesn't ever happen again."
"Oh? Are you trying to threaten me?" Yang looms over Ilia.
"If it's to keep Blake safe, then yeah. I am."
"How is this keeping her safe!?" Yang shouted.
"I won't let any humans hurt her. She's gone through so much. She doesn't deserve you. I'll make sure you get nothing from her. That way she won't be manipulated into your... fake bullshit." Yang's eyes widened. Ilia scoffed. "Consider that as a warning. I will take everything you love away, starting with Blake. You won't see her again. I'll make sure of that." Ilia then walks away. Yang just stood there. She took in a deep breath.
"She's just trying to scare me... what could she possibly do?" Yang talked to herself as she heads back to the Mansion.
"Yo! Blake!" Sun entered the living room, he was trying out his Yukata that Kali got for him. He did a little spin.
"Don't I look great in this?" Sun smirks. Making Blake giggle.
"It suits you! A-aack. Mom that's too tight..." Blake complains. Kali was helping Blake get the Yukata on, tightening the ribbon around her waist.
"Sorry Honey, I have to make sure it's all nice and tight. There, is that okay?"
Blake does a little movement before nodding. "Yeah, thank you mom." She grins, before spotting Ilia with the Yukata.
"So... how do I look?" Ilia questioned.
"Beautiful."
"Aww Blake thank you! You look more beautiful then I am though." Ilia grins. Blake was about to say something till she saw Yang enter as well.
"I struggled with this, but I think I got it on right?" Yang had a nervous smile. Blake giggles.
"Ah, let me help you Yang." Kali helps fix Yang's yukata and make it look all neat. "You have a lot of hair! How do you keep it in such good condition? Oh, I just had an idea. Yang, may I do your hair?"
Yang blinks. She wasn't exactly willing to let anyone mess with her hair. But she couldn't say no to Kali. How could she? Kali is literally the closest mother Yang could ever get.
"S-Sure. Just don't, mess it up too much."
"Of course, why don't you sit down, you're quite too tall for me." Kali chucked. Yang grabbed a stool and sat down. She felt Kali running her fingers through Yang's hair, pulling them back.
Kali was pulling Yang's hair back and making it into a ponytail. She used a purple ribbon as a hair band. Once that was done, she added some fake flowers around the band and then backs away.
"Perfect. You're all good to go." Kali smiled.
"Thank you, Soooo Blake?" Yang did a little spin when she got up. Having a smirk on her face.
Blake's ears twitched a bit as she stares at Yang wide eye. "Yang you look... stunning...!"
"Stunning?" Yang whispered.
"Yang. You look very, beautiful." Blake blushes a bit. Yang does the same.
"Y-You too! Your uh... I think your uh... eyes goes great with your outfit!" Yang nervously smiles.
"This is painful to listen." Sun mumbled in the backgroun.
"Oh...?" Kali then giggled. She understood what was happening. Ilia however, she was upset. "You 4 can go ahead. Ghira and I still have some stuff to do before we go. Blake, you know where to go right?"
"Mmhm. The two statues." Blake nods.
"Very good. Have fun!" Kali waves them off. The 4 went outside. The sun was slowly setting.
"So remind me again, what are we exactly doing?" Yang questioned while walking with Blake.
"We are heading to our two dragon statues and giving our respects and grace to them." Blake reminds.
"Ahh that's right."
"Oh, crap I forgot to teach you this Yang, but uh. We have a second language. It's mostly a traditional language that we faunus use. We'll mostly be using it for stuff like this." Blake brought up, and Yang blinks.
"I only know the language that Weiss taught me in high-school. It's an Atlas language. I know some of that... uh... like... oh! This one is my favorite!"
"Iss eine Tüte Schwänze!" Yang shouted. Blake blinks in confusion.
"What does that mean?"
"Eat a bag of dicks." Yang smirks. Blake burst out into laughter.
"Of course you would use that!" Blake laughed.
"Hey! Listen, it's nice to curse at someone and they wouldn't know! Though living in Atlas didn't really grant me that." Yang chuckles.
"Dangsin-eun maeu jaemiissda!" Blake said.
"Uh."
Blake giggles. "It means you are very funny." She grins.
"Ahhh, well thank you! Hey, how do I say, You are beautiful?" Yang questioned. Blake blushes a bit.
"Aleumdauseyo"
"Uh... Al...eum...a" Yang struggled. Blake helped Yang pronounce.
"Aleumdauseyo."
"There you go! You got it." Blake smiles. "gamsahabnida by the way."
"Er..."
"Honestly I should just get you a book for our language." Blake smiles. "What other Atlas language do you know?" She questions.
"Oh there's many. I had to be taught by Weiss. I still don't know what Weiss said in high-school. But I'm sure it's nice things!" Yang smiles.
Few Years Ago...
"dumm aussehender blonder Arsch..." Weiss muttered as she walked away from Yang. ("Stupid looking blonde ass")
"Ich liebe dich..." Weiss whispered. Yang tilted her head. ("I love you.")
"Hm?"
"N-Nothing! Just- Go away you stupid blonde!" Weiss exclaimed. Yang chuckles and kissed Weiss's head before walking away.
"As you wish princess."
"Wh- wh-" Weiss felt her face turn red.
"Yang, bitte verpiss dich..." Weiss was trying to do homework.
"Aww love you too!" Yang grins.
What Weiss said was 'Yang, please fuck off.'
Present
"Yeah, I'm sure Weiss said very kind things to you." Blake giggles, shaking her head. She then felt Yang hold Blake's hand.
"Yang...?"
"So-Sorry I- I shouldn't have done that." Yang tried to pull away, but to her surprise, Blake held a strong grip.
"It's okay. I'm cool with this." There was a comforting expression on Blake's face. And it brought relief into Yang's feelings.
They didn't want to let go. And it pissed off Ilia. So she jumps in and got in between of Yang and Blake, and Yang was annoyed.
"Blaaaakkeee... when will we get there? These shoes are uncomfortable?" Ilia complained. Blake's lips tightens.
"Soon." It was quiet, people would've mistaken it as a whisper. Ilia held Blake's hands.
"Hey, is everything okay?" Ilia was concerned. Blake nods and let a reassuring smile fill her face.
"Yeah. Sorry."
Ilia let out a hum before looking around, surprised by how many faunus there was. But then Blake pulls her hand away. "Blake?"
"I'm sorry Ilia." Blake says before picking up the pace. Ilia's fist clenched. She ran up to Blake again, trying to talk to her again. Yang watches from behind.
"I wished Blake would tell Ilia." Yang mumbled.
"I know. So do I." Sun adds. Yang turned her head to look at Sun. "But you have to look at it from Blake's eyes. She's been through so much. Blake is frightened to hurt someone again."
"I know that I just-" sighed Yang. "I'm just worried. This will all backfire and it'll just be worse. She has to do it now."
"And I agree with that." Sun leans over a bit to look at Yang. "But that's not up to us. It's all up to Blake. She will make her own choices, and we'll be there to support her. Remember, she's used to people telling her what to do or controlling her life. I've seen so much growth this month. She's been happier... and I'm not going to be the one making her choices."
Yang let out a hum. Not sounding satisfied. "True... but what if it's one of those moments where you need a little push?"
Sun was quiet. He thinks about it. "Well- wait how did you know about this?"
"She told me yesterday. I told her what I thought would be a good idea." Yang brings up. Sun had a worried expression.
"You seem a little heartbroken." Sun points out. Yang's cheeks turns a bit pink.
"I was a little. But if it was something that made her happy, then I'm all up for that. But she's, God." Yang inhales before exhaling. "That poor girl has been through so much. She really deserves... so much better things. A chance to live her life without pain and sorrow." Yang was looking ahead, watching Blake talk to Ilia.
"You love her don't you?"
Yang nearly trips. She turned her head quickly, her face turning pinker. She has a shy look on her face.
"I... I think so. I know it's not been a year since I've known Blake but..." She stares at her prosthetic arm. "Every moment I've spent with Blake feels like days and weeks. Like the longest day of my life. All I wanted to do was make her happy." Her fist clenched. "But it feels like I've made it worse somehow. I still have that guilt, like its all my fault too."
"Everyone make mistakes." Sun gives Yang a compassionate smile. "I'm sure Blake has already told you she believes it's her fault that all of this happened."
"She has. And it's not." Yang furrowed her eyebrows.
"Blake still feels that way. Guilt doesn't go away completely." Sun looks up at the faint stars in the sky. "It's going to take time before it all gets better. For now, support and comfort is the best thing you can do."
"Thank you Sun."
"Of course. Blake really admires you. I've never seen her look so happy with you. Of course there's uncertainty sometimes but I can tell you two have a bond. A special one if you know what I mean." Sun winks. Yang rolled her eyes, giving Sun a playful punch to the arm.
"Shut up." Yang laughs, to which Sun let out a playful laugh. He looks ahead and grins.
"Ah! We're here!"
Yang looks ahead and was stunned. There it was. Two large dragon statues. They were huge and detailed. Candles and flowers are all around the base.
"Whoa..." Yang was in awe. "They're cool looking." She then sees Blake turns around and saw Yang. She gestured Yang to come over.
"Go." Sun bumps Yang's shoulder. She let out an annoyed mumbled at Sun before walking up to Blake.
"Just copy and repeat after me." Blake reassured. Yang nods. They both stood in front of the statues.
Blake bows down, and Yang does the same.
"Bichgwa eodum-ui hananim, uliui gamsaleul deul-eusoseo." Blake said. Yang gulps a bit. Right, she should use something simpler.
"Gamsahabnida." Blake said.
"Gamsahabnida." Yang repeats.
"Bichgwa eodum" The faunus continues. So does Yang. Soon they both straightened their back. Blake gives Yang an approving smile. They both step away from the statues to let the other faunus do their thing. Yang got a lots of disapprove looks.
"They don't really like me all that much don't they?" Yang crossed her arms. "I wish I could do something to show that I'm cool with them."
"I know. We are all, not so trusting. Till something good happens, we're all just cautious about humans." Blake puts her hand in Yang's shoulder.
"Where's Ilia?" Yang looked around after realizing Ilia wasn't here. Blake shrugs.
"I don't know. She told me she had to do something real quick. I think we should head back home now." Blake started to walk back.
"Wait that's it?" Yang follows.
"Mmhm. Unless they added something new while... I was gone. It's like this. Tomorrow will be fun. We'll have games."
"Games huh? Wanna bet I'll win the most?" Yang had a competitive spirit. And sometimes it's a little worrying.
"I like to see you try to beat me." Blake grins back. They both giggle.
Meanwhile,"Yo. Neptune." Sun was talking on his phone. "I understand what's it like to be a third wheel now."
"FINALLY!" Neptune shouted from the other side. Making Sun chuckle.
"Ugh... where am I...?" Weiss groans a bit while waking up, realizing all she sees is darkness. She felt her arms were restrained and she immediately panicked. "What the- where am I?! Ruby!" Weiss shouted. Had she been kidnapped?
"Well, the Schnee girl finally woke up. You'll earn us quite the fortune."
