"Have a good day!" 

Weiss smiled. She was brewing someone's drink. Going through her day without any issues. Suddenly, Weiss's phone rings. She hands her customer the coffee before walking to the back, answering the call when she finds out it's Blake. 

"Hey Blake! How's it been? Hope Yang hasn't been-" 

Weiss's then stopped after hearing a different voice. 

"Is this a friend of Blake's?" 

"Y-Yes? Who is this?" Weiss questioned. The answer she got made her face go pale, despite already be so white. 

"The police. Your friend has been shot at and is currently being brought to the hospital. If you can, call your friend's parents. I'm sorry. Thank you." 

The call ends. Weiss stands there. Staring at her phone in disbelief. Shot at...? Why...? Why was this happening? Weiss immediately closes the shop and threw her apron away. Grabbing her purse and drove immediately. Weiss's heart was racing. Blake has to be alive. She's so far in making progress and she's living a better life with Yang. 

But that doesn't seem to be the case. When she arrived, and asked about Blake, her breath stopped after hearing the full story. It wasn't just Blake. 

Ruby was hurt too. 

Tai is hurt.

Blake is on death bed. 

And Yang is in jail. 

Weiss broke down into tears. She was taken to Ruby's room after asking if she could visit anyone. Ruby was super happy after seeing Weiss. 

Weiss pulled Ruby into a tight hug. Both of them sobbing. Weiss held Ruby's cheeks. 

"Are you okay...?" 

Ruby tears up even more. She shakes her head. "B-Bh- Blake..." Ruby cried. Weiss got on the bed and held Ruby up close. Comforting her as she let Ruby cry into her chest. Weiss was so scared for everyone.

"I'll get Yang out of Jail. I'll bail her out. Everyone will be okay. They better be." Weiss reassured. Ruby nods a bit and just kept hugging Weiss. Not wanting to let go. 

Yang isn't sure what to feel. She's been bailed out Weiss. Yang spots Weiss in the parking lot leaning against the car with Ruby inside. Ruby sees Yang and immediately rushed out of the car and limping to Yang. Yang tears up and pulled Ruby into a hug. 

"Yang! I'm so sorry...! I'm so sorry! I'm sorry!" Ruby cried. Yang shakes her head. 

"No... don't be sorry. It's not your fault. It's my fault that I wasn't able to protect you and I'm so guilty about that. I wish I was able to get there sooner and protect you from that asshole. Are you okay?" Yang held Ruby's cheek as she checks for any injuries and Ruby shakes her head. 

"I'm okay... b-but are you?" Ruby questioned. Weiss coming up next to Ruby. Yang didn't answer immediately and she just stood there. Not coming up with any answers. So she just looks at Weiss. 

"Any news on Blake. Is she alive?" Yang questioned. Weiss sighs. Tucking her lips. Unsure how to word this. 

"Well... Sorta. She's still alive. But she's struggling. There's too much damage. Especially in her organs. I'm not sure how she's even alive right now. It's miracle that she's even breathing. That poor girl looks so pale." Weiss explained. She looks at Yang's face and her eyes widened. 

"Yang...?" 

Yang was crying. She covers her face with her palm. Weiss frowns and pulls Yang and Ruby into a hug. "It's gonna be okay. We have to be strong for Blake. She needs us." 

"Yeah... yeah." Yang mumbled. Weiss then pulls away to look at Ruby. 

"Also..." Weiss then smacked the back of Ruby's head. "You're supposed to be in the car! You're injured you dolt!" Weiss huffed. Ruby letting out a nervous laugh. 

"Whoops." Ruby smiles a bit. Weiss sighs. 

"Your dad is okay too. He's awake and healing. I'm going to head back to the hospital to keep Blake company. Would you guys like me to drive you two home?" Weiss questioned. Yang thinks about it. 

Yang wants to lock herself in her room and just, not come out for a while. But... Blake needs her. Yang will make herself useful. She won't ever leave Blake alone. 

Yang furrowed her eyebrows. She broke that promise to Blake. By leaving her with her dying father. This was all her fault. Yang has to make it up to Blake somehow. 

"No... I uh. I wanna visit Blake." 

"Are you sure?" 

Yang nods. They get in the car and Yang was quiet the entire time. Weiss was listening to Ruby talk, but Weiss was worried about Yang for a while. 

Weiss moved her hand and rested it on Yang's thigh. Yang looks at her hand before looking at Weiss who was focused on the road. 

Yang could only smile a bit before looking out at the window. She knew Weiss was worried. How could she not? Yang just experienced a traumatic experience. 

Yang was graceful to have met Weiss. She remembered the fun times she had with the ice queen. 

"Yang you fucking idiot..." Weiss huffed. Yang laughs. She caressed Weiss's cheeks. 

"You love me." Yang kissed Weiss's forehead.

"Shut up..." Weiss blushed. Both of them kiss. Though Weiss was so short that Yang had to lean over. It was almost funny, and Yang had to hold back her laugh. She loved teasing Weiss but nows not the time. 

Yang then frowns when she remembered the conversation she had with Blake. 

"-I grew up thinking that was strange but I met a lesbian and she told me about her experience. It really opened up my eyes. Like..." Yang sighs with a smile. Blake was listening to Yang about how she became a lesbian. 

Weiss was that lesbian. Yang met Weiss in high-school, and they both had a rough start. How "loud & Annoying" Yang was. And she still is but, Weiss ended up falling in love with Yang. And they dated. 

Though it didn't end up working out. But it didn't change anything. They were still pretty close. Their bond never changed. 

Weiss would look at Yang for a moment. 

Yang is never quiet. She's always chatty and smiling. But this... was nothing Weiss's ever seen. Yang looks... broken. And it scared Weiss. 

"Yang... you need to eat something." 

"Not hungry." Yang shuts down. Weiss sighed. She looks at Ruby with a defeated look on her face. 

"Ruby help me make your sister eat something." Weiss asked. Ruby frowns, grabbing the lunch Weiss brought and she limps to Yang. 

"Here!" Ruby hands out the tray of food with a big smile on her face. Till she got a good look of Yang's face and she started to cry. 

There wasn't any light or happiness in Yang's eyes. Yang just stares at Ruby before looking back at the unconscious Blake. Who was hooked up to the machines. 

Ruby has never seen Yang like this. It scared her so badly. Ruby wants her sister back. Ruby began to feel guilty. If she had listened to Blake, maybe all of this would've been prevented. Ruby started to cry. Weiss just stood at the doorway. Not even sure what to do. 

Her friends are all traumatized and scared. Weiss began to feel guilty. Maybe if she stayed with them for a few days, this wouldn't have happened. Weiss quietly cursed at herself. 

Weiss frowns and she walks up to the sister, standing behind them. "Yang... Ruby. I'm so sorry this had to happen." Weiss pulls Ruby into a Hug and tried to get Yang to join but... 

"Please don't touch me." Yang shrugged Weiss's hand away. What is Weiss even supposed to do? 

"Yang... you can't stay like this forever. It's going to be okay. You have people who ne-" 

"WHAT WOULD YOU KNOW?!" Yang shouted as she abruptly stood up. Weiss flinched back. 

"WHAT ABOUT ME?! IM HERE TOO!!! AM I NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!? Does my mental health not matter?! I know people need me! But I don't even know if I'm even the person you know as!" Yang was furious. Weiss was... scared for the first time. Yang never scared her but this... 

"Weiss. I saw my father bleeding! Then I see my own sister injured! And BLAKE MAY JUST END UP DEAD!!! I KILLED SOMEONE!!! SO DONT YOU DARE TELL ME ITLL BE OKAY!!! BECAUSE ITS NOT!!!" Tears started to fall. 

"I'm not okay..." Yang's voice broke. She sat down, looking frustrated. "Please just go home. Take care of Ruby." 

"Ya-" 

"GO!" 

Weiss was frustrated. "I don't believe you Yang! I'm worried about you! What did you think I felt when I heard about this?! I was scared Yang! Scared!! I know it's not okay but my fucking apologies that I was trying to comfort you! That doesn't give you the right to just yell at us! I know you're traumatized...! But let us help you! If you really want to be left alone so be it." Weiss's face then softens a bit. Still angry, but she tried to calm down. Weiss took Ruby out of the room, but before she left, she looked back. 

"Please... call me. I'm here for you. I'm sorry Yang." Weiss sadly spoke before she left, closing the door. Leaving Yang sobbing. 

"Weiss...?" Ruby looks at Weiss with worry. "What's going on...? Why are we all... Falling apart? I don't want this to happen! Yang...! Blake...! You...!" Ruby was stressed out. Weiss tears up. 

"Why don't I drive you to the cookie shop and we can go home with cookies. We have to feed the dog too and look for Ember." Weiss then walks off. Ruby looks at the door. Hearing a faint sobbing. She frowns before following Weiss. 

This was destroying everyone. 

Few Years Ago. . .

"Adam, could you grab me my water bottle?" Blake requested. Adam smiles and hands Blake the bottle. 

"Thanks." Blake and Adam were at the gym just working out. They've been together for quite a while. She's been happier as ever. Completely blind to the abuse. 

"You look beautiful today." 

"Oh getting flirty today aren't we?" Blake giggled. "Thank you." She smiles. Adam then sat down taking a break, and Blake joins him. 

"So, after this, would you like to go out on a date? Maybe... we could go to-" 

"The seafood restaurant?!" Blake excitedly questioned. Adam chuckles. 

"Bingo. I know it has your favorite meal. Anything for you kitten." Adam kissed Blake's forehead. ⁽*ᴳᴬᴳ* ᴵ ᴴᴬᵀᴱ ᵀᴴᴵˢ ᵃᶠᵍˢᵗᵛᵇᵘʰ⁾ Blake giggles with an innocent smile on her face. 

"I'd love to. I think I'm done training for today. I'm ready to head home and take a loonnng shower." Blake stretched. Adam gets up, helping Blake back on her feet. 

"Why don't we shower together and make it quicker?" 

"Okay." 

Blake doesn't realize it. She really saw this as a normal relationship with Adam. He loved her, and she loved him. It was a couple dream she've always wanted. What could go wrong? Oh everything. Oh so bad things would happen. Yet Blake refuses to see them negatively. 

She loves him so much. Adam is stressed. It's okay. He did hurt her but it's not his fault. Blake understands. 

He yells at her. But it's okay. He apologizes afterwards and embrace Blake, Whispering kind words to Blake. Blake understands. 

Adam has experienced Trauma, one of the reason why Blake bonds so much to him. Blake wants to make him happy. Be that person to heal the pain he experienced. 

So it's not surprising that Adam may have his outbursts or aggressiveness. She forgives him. It's so normal too...!

"YOU'RE A FUCKING CUNT!!! WHY DONT YOU EVER DO ANYTHING RIGHT?!" Adam yells over dinner that Blake accidentally burnt. 

It's okay. She forgives. 

"Blake come here, make me feel good." 

Blake doesn't want this, but Adam is stressed. It does relieve stress by doing this.

It's okay. Blake understands. 

"Blake, you're late." 

Blake tries apologizing only to get hurt. She was a minute late. But Adam is just so scared about being alone. He has to be with Blake all the time.

It's okay. Blake apologizes and comforts him. 

Though Blake began to question in when she saw how other couples were. Loving. Intimate. Caring. Both side gives each other same love. Fair. It was fairness they had. 

Blake didn't have that... 

And when she tried talking to Adam about that, she made a mistake even mentioning of that. So here she lies on the floor. Crying in pain while Adam was hugging her. Apologizing. He was so guilty. Was he though? 

"I promise I won't do it again." 

Blake has heard of that before. Too many times. 

When he does it again, Blake couldn't take it anymore. She had to get away. So that's what she did. She grabs any important belongings of hers and stole some of Adam's money before leaving. Taking the bus. 

Blake isn't even sure where she's going. But she just needs... to figure what she wants to do. Who is she? What does she want? 

A part of Blake was scared and wanted to go back to Adam. After all, she still loves him. Maybe if she explains to Adam, he'd understand and let her go. That way she could go to college. Yeah. An amazing college at Atlas. It would be a dream come true. 

Blake smiles to herself. This was a good decision. All she needs to do is find a place. Turns out that was harder then she expected. No hotels would accept faunus. She didn't know it was... almost everywhere. She thought her groups of White Fangs was making a change but it was making it worse. Blake doesn't understand. She protested, and did peaceful march with Adam. What are they doing wrong? 

Blake ended up sleeping out on the street for the first time. Then the second time. Third. And so on. She took many buses. Trying to find a place. But it just wasn't working. 

Till she met a faunus with a monkey tail. He states his name is Sun. He would make her laugh. He even let Blake stay at his place. Providing her a home temporarily. He introduced Ilia to Blake, and for the next few months, the trios were buddies. Blake has never been so happy in her life. Especially with Ilia. Blake was told that being gay was so bad, but turns out, it wasn't. She gave her first kiss to Ilia. She was so happy. They both opened her eyes and told her what a relationship was supposed to be. Blake couldn't believe how blind she was. 

Ilia introduced the college that was in Atlas and how they were accepting forms now. Blake took that chance to fill out her forms to enter, and after a few weeks, she got in. Sun and Ilia were happy for Blake. 

A few weeks later, Blake was being taken to the bus. She gave Sun and Ilia a hug. Giving her final kiss to Ilia before leaving. Crying on the bus because she would miss them. But she can always call them. Check in with the.. it would be okay. Everything would be okay. 

But when she arrived at Atlas, she was kicked out after she went past the border. Not realizing that, Atlas was NOT a home for faunus. She was forced to buy a home from a run down place. Barely standing. She had no choice. She can't live in the streets again. Blake doesn't want to go through that again.

So now she's in college. Planning to become an EMT. Though it was hard to do homework when sometimes the lights would go out when she's working on them at home. Blake was getting annoyed and she needed to find a place where she could work on homework without any disturbance. She knows that many people would go to Starbucks and hang out there. 

So she gives that a shot. She went to a Starbuck that was close to her college. But they told her that they don't serve faunus and have the right to refuse them. Blake was stunned and tried to fight them on it. But she remembered that Sun told her to NEVER do that if she wants to live. 

Blake was sighing while walking home. She didn't have any way of getting a ride home since no one seems to care for Faunus. 

That was till, she finds out there was a Starbuck that was built recently near the Faunus town. She decided to go check it out. 

Entering, she doesn't see any signs that would curses at Faunus. She sees a white haired woman with a pale eye on one side. She so... white? 

The woman waves with a smile. "Hey! Welcome to Starbucks! How can I help you?"

Blake blinks. "Hold on... you... you're accepting faunus?" She questioned. The woman nods. 

"Yep. That's why I opened this shop. I was just, angry at my father at how he treated the faunus. It's just not fair" 

Blake's eyes widened. "You're Weiss Schnee?!?" 

Weiss winced at the pitch. She clears her throat. "Yeah. Though I'd prefer if you didn't say my last name. I wanna change it so badly. I'm ashamed to be a part of... a racist family. You can trust me. Now, how can I serve you?" Weiss smiles. Blake felt a hint of hope in her future. She smiles and told Weiss her order. 

Turns out Blake was Weiss's first customer, since the Faunus were so unsure about this Starbucks from the experiences they had in Atlas. And Blake doesn't blame them. 

Blake and Weiss ends up becoming good friends. It was one afternoon on Weiss's lunch break that basically brought them closer as ever. 

"Your boyfriend sounds horrible! Why are you even dating him?" Weiss questioned. Blake shrugs.

"Well, he's been through so much. Plus I love him so much. I call him everyday and have good conversations with him." Blake smiles. Weiss frowns. 

"You need to break up with him." 

Blake was stunned by Weiss's sudden seriousness. "Wh-Wha?" 

"Blake. He's manipulative. He's faking it to basically have you in his hands." Weiss said. Blake tenses up.

Blake doesn't want to believe it. Not yet. She really doesn't want too.

Though that changes when Blake screamed in her own home. Adam had came over to visit to only stabs Blake with a kitchen knife. Blake doesn't know why. But Adam was pissed. Blake knew that Adam changed. He's not the person she knew. 

So she's just laying on the floor crying as she shakily types Weiss's number on her phone. Blake remembers how scared Weiss was when she arrived with help. If it wasn't for Weiss, Blake sure would've died. 

Ever since that accident, Weiss helped Blake get a restraining order on Adam. Since then, he hasn't bugged Blake. And, Weiss hired Blake to work. 

Things were getting better. Weiss has done so much for her. Especially when Weiss was paying for Blake's bills so that she can get college done. 

But her life changed completely after a year when she meets a certain blonde. No. Its not Sun. 

Yang. Like the sun. The sun to her life. 

At first, Blake's life was slightly lit up, but when Yang came, all of her world was fill with light and colors. Filled with saturation and rainbow. No more gray-scale bland life. 

Blake felt so warm and happy with Yang. She didn't want to show it but she was so happy. Yang was there for her. And she was there for her. 

"I promise I'll protect you... and you'll protect me right? We can protect each other. Right Yang?"

Right...? 

Blake wakes up in the hospital, surpsied to see Sun. But Yang wasn't here. Nor was Weiss. Or Ruby. 

Blake just wants to fall asleep again. Not wake up again. She's ashamed. Ashamed that she wasn't able to hold that promise. 

Everyone was hurt because of her. And Blake was angry at herself for that.
