Secrets Behind her Life

"Geez... when will this rain ever let up?" Weiss mumbled when she looked out the window while cleaning the tables.

"I dunno. Glad that it'll be over when my shift ends." Yang said while sweeping. Weiss frowns.

"I feel bad for Blake. She doesn't take any rides. She walks. Her house is close but still."

"Maybe she'll stay home for to-" Yang stopped when she sees Blake coming towards the Cafe. She doesn't have a proper coat nor an umbrella. She ran to the door, entering immediately. The poor girl was soaked.

"M-Mornin..." Blake shivered. Weiss immediately stopped whatever she was doing and came to Blake's aid.

"Blake! You're soaked! Are you okay?" Weiss was worried. Yang went to the other room to get a clean towel before returning to the faunus, to which Weiss took and tried to dry Blake.

"Sorry. It started raining when I left the house. I'll be f-fine." Blake gave Weiss a reassuring smile. Weiss frowned.

"Are you sure?"

"Mmhm" Blake nods. Weiss sighed and nodded. Yang however, wasn't going to accept this.

"Fine' my ass" Yang grabs the towel and proceeded to rub Blake's hair. Making her squirm and complain.

"I'm fine! What are you doing?!"

"You look like a soaked cat who fell into a lake. I'm not leaving you like this. Plus you're shaking. It's obvious you're cold." Yang said. Blake was indeed shaking. She sighed in a defeated tone.

"Fine..."

"Thank you. Now quit squirming!"

"I can dry myself!"

Yang groans. She went to the other room once again, grabbing her coat that she arrived with. She walked back to the cold faunus.

"Here. Use the bathroom and take off your sweater. You can wear my coat. It's very thick. And soft on the inside too." Yang offered.

"I-Its oka-"

"Did I ask?"

Blake flinched. She took the coat. Yang was really serious about this. It rarely looks like Blake didn't have a choice. She went to the bathroom to change out of her sweater. Putting on Yang's huge thick coat. It almost reached to her knees. Blake came out with her soaked sweater.

"Hey, you look cute in that!" Yang exclaimed. Blake hugs herself. Her hair still felt moist. Yang once again, covered Blake's hair with the towel. Gently rubbing this time. She looks up at Yang's lilac eyes.

"Why did you do this...? We barely know each other." Blake questioned.

"Well. Technically we know each other's name soooo... and we did talk before. But that's because I'm selfless. Honestly, out of all people, you should know that you can get a cold from this."

Blake blinks. The towel slipping away from her head, making her ears plop up. "Thank you..." Blake mumbles.

"Not a problem. Please let us know if you need anything." Yang smiles. Blake nods before going to the table. Sitting down as she snuggled in the coat. Blake was... not used to getting help. She never ask for help because she believes she can do things on her own.

Blake was then surprised by a cup being pit on the table. She looks at Yang. It's the tea she normally gets.

"Wh-Wha? But I didn't pa-"

"Cause I paid for it." Yang smiled before walking back to the counter. Blake sat there, taking the tea before drinking it. Her ears fold back.

It's not even the right tea. Weiss has always made Blake's tea, so it must have been Yang's first time making tea for Blake.

But it still made Blake happy. Like what people say, it's the thought that counts.

"Flavor isn't actually bad..." Blake talked to herself as she drank.

It was a late afternoon and Blake was getting ready to leave. But she realizes that it's still raining. She has her sweater, which still hasn't dried. Instead it's a cold wet sweater. She has to give Yang's coat back. Blake sighed. She was about to head to the bathroom before Yang stopped her.

"Are you heading home?"

"I am... I'm going to give you your coat back."

"Keep it."

"Huh...?" Blake looks at Yang in surprise.

"I trust you, to bring it back tomorrow. Its fine. Actually how about this, why don't I drive you home? It'll be quick!" Yang smiles.

"Are you sure? It'll be f-"

"I wouldn't be asking if I wasnt so sure." Yang smirks. Blake chuckles at that. "True. Okay. Then yeah. That would be nice."

"Sweet. Let me get my stuff first." Yang said, walking away for a moment before she returns with her bag and a... helmet? To which Yang gave to Blake.

"Huh...?"

"Put it on when we get outside." Yang said before leaving the cafe. Saying goodbye to Weiss. Blake does the same and she soon realizes that Yang has a yellow motorcycle. She gets on it. Not really caring about the rain. Turning the motorcycle on.

"Come sit behind me. Make sure you have your arms around my waist." Yang said. Blake nods. Putting the helmet on before she sat behind Yang. Nervously putting her arms around Yang.

"Shouldn't you be wearing this helmet?"

"Yeah but you need it too. I'll be fine. Weiss said you did live close too, didn't she?"

"I do... okay." Blake held tight. Yang soon takes off. Letting Blake direct her.

"Er.. is this your... home?" Yang questioned. She was standing under the roof, out of the rain with Blake. The home was... sorta worn down and old.

"Yeah... its because I'm a faunus. We get the crappy home while the rich gets luxury homes." Blake sighed.

BOOM

"Wah!" Yang and Blake yelped in shock. Yang looked out. It was a storm.

"Ugh... now I can't drive home." Yang sighed. Blake frowns.

"Why don't you come inside with me and wait till the storm is over? I really don't mind." Blake offered.

"Really? Sweet!" Yang smiled. She was then led to Blake's apartment. Which was... very small. It felt like a dorm room instead. Blake enters, taking off her shoes before turning the lights on.

"Whoa. It's really clean. Better then my room." Yang laughs while taking off her shoes as well before closing the door behind her. She shakes her hair to get all the water out. Blake takes her coat off, giving it back to Yang before she went to find a new shirt to wear.

Yang was not prepared to see Blake shirtless with a bra. She blushes. Till...

"Blake...what's with all the bruises on your body?" Yang suddenly spoke, sounding worried. Blake puts the shirt over her. Tensing up. She felt insecure.

"I'm just clumsy..."

Yang scowls. She puts the coat on the counter before walking up to Blake.

"Is someone hurting you?"

Blake was avoiding eye contact but she could feel Yang staring at her. Blake didn't say anything.

"Who hurt you? Or is bothering you? Who is it?"

"It's nobody. I'm fine." Blake walks off to the mini kitchen to get herself a water bottle.

"Blake, I hate people when they lie. I know we sorta just met like a few days ago but... I do care about you. It's kinda strange but as soon as I met you, I knew we would be good friends."

Blake let out an annoyed sigh. She finally makes eye contact with Yang from there.

"Okay... fine. Yeah. Someone is bothering me. I'm often assaulted at the streets. Nothing you really can do. If you defend yourself, high chance of being sued. Plus almost everyone at Atlas does it. They really... do not care for faunus and see us as... nothing but a wild animal." Blake grips at the counter edge.

"Blake I- I'm sorry this is happening to you. I wish I could do something t- wait. I can! What if every morning I came to pick you up." Yang smiled. Blake blinked.

"You...  really would do that? Didn't you just say we don't know too much about each other?"

"Well... yeah... BUT! You really seem like a nice person. Why wouldn't I help?" Yang tilts her head. She has such a cute look on her face.

"I... I don't know what to say... but... thank you Yang. If it really doesn't bother you, then I don't mind this. It would certainly make me feel better." Blake smiled.

"For now though... hm... do you have movies that we can watch? Or do you wanna do something else?"

"I have Disney movies. We can watch that."

"Sure. I've seen them all thanks to Ruby." Yang said as she sat down on the bed. To which Blake joins. Turning on the T.V

"Ruby...?"

"Oh! That's my little sister." Yang smiles.

"Ahh... I see. Oh you did mention about that. I forgot." Blake remembers. She looks at the T.V, soon playing a movie. She sat there, watching with Yang. Though Blake got cold and went to grab a blanket and pull it over her.

"Do you not have a heater?" Yang questioned. Blake shakes her head.

"Nope. We don't have any air conditioning in this building. Nor do we have good water. I have to buy water bottles."

"Seriously!?" Yang was shocked. Blake looks at Yang, her ears at the side.

"Do you... not know?"

"Well. I've never met a faunus in Atlas. I have no idea what their life is like. So far... it doesn't sound so nice." Yang frowns.

"Yeah..." Blake had a quick smile which fades away. "But, its better then nothing. I'm happy to at least have a home to come too. Even if it's not in best condition"

"Yeah..." Yang mumbled. She looked back at the T.V. She should do something. Or at least try to make Blake's life a little bit easier.

Suddenly the T.V and lights turned off. Blake sighed. Getting off the bed to turn a lantern on.

"We also get limited electricity..." Blake said. Yang scowls.

"That's stupid."

"Tell me about it." Blake looks like she's about to cry. It's obvious she's tired living like this.

"Can't you by a heater?" Yang questioned.

"I don't have enough money. I have to save it for food "

Yang blinked. She tilt her head. Standing up to walk towards the lantern. Looking at Blake.

"Are... you poor? How are you getting the tea everyday?" Yang questioned once again.

"Well... I am poor. No one wants to hire me. You know, I would've gone homeless if it wasn't for Weiss. She saved me." Blake smiled. "I came to her cafe for the first time, looking for a job. She hired me and we worked for a few months till I got too busy with my studies so I had to quit. Then, I don't know if you saw the news, but the prices went up so high for just living here! Weiss saved me by paying for my bills. She was happy to give me free tea everyday and study in the cafe. I get heat, light, and stuff. It's really nice." Blake explained. She then realized that she kept talking.

"Sorry, didn't mean to talk so much. It's just Weiss did so much for me. I told her I would pay her back when I finally get my job and earn enough money."

"So... you're the girl Weiss told me about awhile ago.." Yang mumbled. "That was you...?"

"Yeah... its been rough but... I'm sorta managing." Blake smiled. Yang was for sure going to do something about this.

Maybe... she could convince her dad to get herself an apartment...

"Ah. The storm is over. You can go home now. It was nice having you over." Blake smiles. Yang waves back before she got her shoes on and her coat.

"I'll see you tomorrow." Yang left feeling conflicted. Yeah no way in hell is she leaving Blake in this crappy building. Blake deserves better. With everything Weiss told her about Blake, she finally understands her.

"Maybe Weiss can help too..."
