Tony was eating the hamburger his sweet Pepper had ordered for him when he heard the door opening.He looked up and...
"RHODEY"he exclaimed.
"Hi there Tones"Tony smiled at that but his smile quickly faded when he saw that his friend was in a wheelchair.Guilt started filling him up.
"Hey Tones,none of that.It wasn't your fault at all and I was bound to be hurt seriously like that at some point in the Air force"Rhodes said,because of course Tony's best friend since MIT would understand immediately what went through Tony's mind with just one look at his eyes.
"But-"
"No.No buts.It wasn't your fault and now stop pouting."
"I wasn't pouting!"Tony,who definitely wasn't pouting,answered.
Rhodey gave him a small smile while wheeling closer to be able to reach his bed.When he reached Tony's bed he hugged him.
"How are you feeling Tony?"
"I am feeling good as new,platypus."Tony said with a huge smile.
"How are you really feeling Tony?"
Tony's smile immediately dropped.
"You're feeling shitty as hell,don't you?"
"Yeah"Tony said not bothering to put on a fake smile.
"I truly am so sorry for the extemis Tony"
"It's ok platypus,don't worry"Tony answered while putting a fake smile on.One that Rhodes didn't return.Instead he hugged him again and didn't let him go this time.
"I am sorry Tony.Sorry for everything that happened.Sorry for not being there for you.Not when you were dealing with the Avengers and not at Siberia."
The moment Tony heard Siberia,he flinched.And he flinched hard.Rhodey hugged him tighter.
"I promise you Tony from now on I will never let those god dammed bastards hurt you again.None of them"
Tony's breath hitched and he started tearing up.
"It's ok now Tony,don't worry.You can cry if you want to.No one will judge you."
And that was the final push Tony needed to start crying.
"Everything is going to be fine Tony.Let it all out my stupid little bro."
And that's exactly what Tony did.
~one and a half week later~
"Boss,I recommend taking a break."
"Come on now baby girl,I have been in here for only a few hours." Tony answered.
"Actually boss,you have been in your workshop for more than 22 hours." FRIDAY answered back.
"Ohh...Well time surely flies fast when you're having fun."
"I insist you take a break and sleep,Boss."
"Fri,I don't need one.I am not even tired"
"Had you not nearly taken DUMM-E's milkshake,that you know always has olive in it,I might had just believed you,Boss."
"Haha very funny Fri but I have gone way longer without sleep before the extremis.I don't need sleep right now."
"But Boss-"
"No Friday.I can't take a break.Not without first finishing Rhodey's brakes.Now stop bothering me with useless things Friday."

"Boss,you have an incoming call from Harley Keener."
"What?But he is supposed to be at school right now?Did something happened?"
"No,Boss everything is fine."
"Then?"
"Harley has been out of school for quite some time now,Boss.It's seven and a half right now."
"That...that explains it...FRIDAY why didn't you say anything about the time?"
"You asked me not to bother you with anything useless,Boss, and by the tendency you have to ignore the time I guessed you thought it was useless."
"Always so snarky baby girl."
"I take after my creator,Boss."
Tony chuckled."Answer the call Fri."
As FRIDAY answered the call Tony heard two familiar voices coming from it.
"Mechanic" and "UNCLE TONY" were heard.
"Children,children I know you missed me-"Tony started but was cut off.
"Ha you wish.Only Morgan missed you."
"Harley you're hurting your old man's feelings."Tony said.
"The only true thing in your sentence is the fact the you're old,old man."
Tony gasped."The disrespect!Don't you care about my feelings you brat?"
"No-"
"Big bro don't be a meanie to Uncle Tony!"the little nine year old said.
"I am not being mean Morgan,just honest."
"But some days ago I head you saying to mom that uncle Tony was like a dad to you and that you worry a lot for him because he does stupid things all the time and-"
"I NEVER SAID THAT"
"But I heard you~"Morgan said with a smirk.
Tony smirked as well as he saw Harley's face getting red.
"Why you little!Just go play with your dolls and let the adults have a conversation." Harley said.
Tony coughed while whispering 'adults'.A comment both kids cleary heard but choose to ignore.
"He he.Fine I'll leave but know that I still am uncle Tony's favourite,big bro.Bye bye uncle Tony"the little girl said as she ran out of the room.
"Yeah yeah whatever Morgana.Now that Morgan is not here,how ar-?" Harley paused as he saw the look of fondness in Tony's eyes.
"Tch.What are you looking at like that Mechanic?"
"Nothing kid."
"Stop calling me kid.I am getting too old for that."
"Nah you're still a kid."
"Hey!I am 15."
"Still a child."
Harley glared at Tony.
"What's up kid?It's not like you to send your sister out the room when we're talking like that."Tony said in a more serious tone.
Harley continued glaring at Tony for a few more seconds before saying"You aren't being hard on yourself,are you Tony?"
"What no, obviously no"
"Don't lie to me!You seem exhausted!And it is so like you to blame yourself after things go wrong!"Harley half-yelled.
Tony remained quiet.
"Tony please don't blame yourself for the fight between the Avengers."
"I am not-"
"Yes you are.I know how you think.I know you.After all we're connected."
"Look kid,there are a lot of things you don't know about-"
"Just like I don't know what happened at Siberia for you to end up in a coma."
Tony flinched and unfortunately for him Harley noticed.
"I told you.Things got a bit messy-"
"Messy is an understatement" Harley interrupted Tony.
"And we had a fight with the other Winter Soldiers-" Tony continued as he ignored Harley
"I don't believe you."
They both were quite after that.
"I am sorry Harley but I can't say more about it."
"Just don't blame yourself for whatever shit went down,Mechanic."
"Your mom would kill me if she found out about you talking like that."
"She won't.Don't worry.I have to leave now Tony.If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me.And go to sleep."
"Sure thing kid."Tony said while nodding his head.
Harley eyed him suspiciously obviously not believing him but nodded back and closed the call.
Tony went back to working on his project fully knowing he was doing the exact opposite of what Harley said before closing the call.After all,Tony was sure Harley knew he wouldn't follow his advice based on the suspicious look from earlier.
That's why Tony loved Harley.For the last three and a half years he knew him,he was never afraid to call him out on his bullshit and could always read him like a book.He cared for Tony a lot just like Tony did for him.
'Maybe I should introduce him to Peter?' Tony thought.He had grown very fond of the other boy. 'Other than the fact their personalities might clash a little they have many things in common.But May is going to kill me if she finds out I introduced Peter to someone who might teach him how cuss...nah it's going to be fine.If something does happen I'll just throw Morgan at May.She is too adorable for anyone to refuse her something.'
Tony had visited Peter a few days ago and talked him into revealing to May about him being Spiderman promising to be there with him when he did that.And he was.There were some yelling and accusations from May's side towards Tony and apologising from Tony's side to both Peter and May.At the end, everything turned out fine and Peter was offered to become Tony's personal intern(With hours that helped Peter manage school, being Spiderman and having free time for himself).Also Tony learnt a very important lesson.To never ever make May Parker mad again...
