Trapped Inside

Homosexuality can be a sensitive topic for many people. Society says that homosexuality is a sin. Some say that homosexuality is a gift. Why does society have a big impact on our lives? Why do we live the way society wants us to? Why does society send us mixed signals? Why is our society so indecisive?

In the beautiful village of Konoha, kids run around in the streets. In Konoha, and anywhere else really, children are the future. It is greatly expected for people to birth future leaders and workers. But, thoughts like this lead to homophobia. Thinking that those who love the same sex are useless. They cannot birth children, therefore they are not contributing to the future.

Naruto completely agreed with these statements, but true feelings cannot counter this argument. He was in love with a boy and unfortunately, he did nothing to show his love for him. He didn’t want to be looked down on again. He didn’t want to be left alone again. Although, he was never going to be alone. If he kept up this behavior, he might lose the person that shouldn’t leave his side. If he did love him, then he shouldn’t worry about what anyone else thinks.

Naruto got up from his bed and got ready to see his “secret” boyfriend. He needed to roll off his bed quietly so he wouldn’t wake up his girlfriend. When he was done getting ready, he kissed his girlfriend’s forehead and left. He made sure to pack protection, his keys, wallet, and extra clothes.

After a 12 mile drive, he got to his boyfriend’s house. He was excited to see him because they haven’t seen each other in weeks. They were both busy with work and the fact that everything was kept a secret, made it difficult to plan their days. Once he parked his car, he walked up to the house and knocked on the door.

He was greeted by a tall man jumping into his arms and they both shared a passionate kiss. Naruto put the man down and embraced him in a hug.

“Sasuke! I missed you,” Naruto yelled. The man smiled and went back for another hug.

“I missed you too, dumbass.” Naruto pouted. After the reunion, they went upstairs to Sasuke’s bedroom.

They started to make out, but everything came to a pause when Naruto winced in pain. Sasuke had pressed too hard on his thighs.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” Sasuke pouted.

“No it’s ok, my thighs just hurt from earlier.”

“But you work a 9-5 in an office and you’re always sitting down.”

“Yeah, it was from when I went to the gym.” Naruto scratched at his neck because he knew the reason why his thighs hurt was because of the positions he was in.

“Don’t lie to me, please. It’s bad enough that you have to lie to everyone else.”

“Sorry, I was with my girlfriend earlier. And I know you said no back-to-back hookups between you and my girlfri-” Naruto stopped talking when Sasuke put his hand on his shoulder.

“You know what, it’s ok. I’m just not in the mood anymore. Maybe next time when you don’t do it with your girlfriend two hours before you do it with me.” Sasuke got off Naruto’s lap and laid down, facing away from Naruto.

“Aw Sas come on, don’t tell me I came here for nothing.” Naruto was consistent and was waiting for Sasuke’s body for a long time.
Sasuke’s ears perked up and he shot up to face Naruto.

“FOR NOTHING?! So you’re telling me that you only use me for sex and you don’t really want to spend time with me only with my body?”

“No, that’s not what I mean.” Sasuke ignored Naruto’s answer.

“Fine. Let’s just talk. We’ve been doing this secret thing for 6 years and I’m really sorry I didn’t follow the agreement.”

“Exactly. We’ve been doing this for six years, shouldn’t we just be out already? When are you going to break it off with her?”

“You know I can’t do that. I don’t want to be looked down on again.” Sasuke rolled his eyes.

“So you’re telling me that everyone else is more important than I am. That you only care about publicity and not me.”

“No! I mean that I don’t want to be alone again.” Sasuke scoffed at his answer.

“Are you dense? You’ll have me.”

“You’re right. But what if I lose you too?” Sasuke’s face saddened, but it was only there to hide his anger.

“You’ll never lose me. I will never treat you horribly like all those other people.”

“I believe you. Can we just stay together here until we fall asleep?”

“Yes.” Naruto’s phone began to ring. It was from his girlfriend. It seemed urgent so he decided he wanted to answer it.

“Can I take this?” Sasuke rolled his eyes but he still said yes. Naruto leaves the room and takes the call in the hallway. Sasuke tried to ignore the call going on outside for his sake and to give his partner some privacy. Although he tried his best, he could not ignore the excitement in Naruto’s voice. The thing that caught his attention was the words, “I’ll be there in 5 minutes.”

Naruto hung up and walked into Sasuke’s room. Naruto started to grab his belongings without telling Sasuke the great news.

“Sasuke I have to go. This is urgent.”

“Where are you going? What’s the matter?”

“Oh um, my girlfriend’s grandfather died.” Sasuke was even angrier than before. He knew Naruto was lying.

“What is lying your new favorite hobby?” Naruto gave him a confused look.

“I’m not lying.”

“So all that excitement in your voice is because her grandfather died? How cruel are you?” Sasuke said sarcastically.

“I-”

“Just tell me the truth, I won’t be mad.” Sasuke lied.

“My girlfriend is pregnant, I want to see her.” Sasuke clicked his tongue.

“YOU JUST SAW HER! WHAT WAS THE REASON FOR COMING HERE THEN? OH, IT’S BECAUSE YOU WANTED TO HAVE SEX WITH ME! I’M A SEX TOY FOR YOU! YOUR WAY TO GET OFF!” Sasuke lowered his voice. “There’s no point in having me if you have a girlfriend to fuck.”

“Sasuke, I’m sorry.” Naruto walked up to Sasuke to kiss his forehead before he could leave. Sasuke got up from the bed so Naruto wouldn’t be able to touch him. Naruto fell hands first into the mattress.

“Don’t touch me. Look, I don’t care if you got her pregnant, I just wish you would choose me. It’s always her. I was your first for everything and you don’t even choose me. What can I do to better myself? What can I do to make you choose me?” Naruto stayed silent. His head down and lips zipped close.

“It doesn’t matter. Congratulations on the kid, I hope it doesn’t turn out as rotten as its father.”

“But, I love you,” is all Naruto said in order to make up with Sasuke, but it just made things worse.

“No, you don’t.”

“I do.”

“Just leave. Please.” Naruto never looked up from the ground. He got out of the room, eyes on his two feet.
