Her new apartment would've been perfect if it didn't come with all the strings attached.
Sure it's on the smaller side of one bedroom apartments but she has her own washer and dryer hookup; it came pre-furnished, and it's in walking distance to the academy.

Atleast residents here are less judgemental; everyone seems to be too caught up in their own lives to punish her for living hers.
Drunks are seemingly everywhere but maybe thats because of all the bars sprinkling around the place.
Men and women stand corner to street corner on this one avenue nearby scantily dressed; if they're even dressed at all looking for customers.
In two weeks she's due to start at the academy, yesterday the hokage pretty much bullied her into going out in public and buying all her school supplies and groceries for the month.
Every month she gets 12,000 ryo but this month because she's starting the academy the Hokage gave her double the ryo for school supplies, more clothes and extra expenses.
The old man also explained that for every year she's in the academy- the month it starts again he would double the stipend.
That's 24,000 ryo
Or 240,000 yen.
He already showed her where to pay rent; it would be automatically set aside in the stipend but it would be her responsibility to bring it to the landlords office Each month.

monthly she'd have 4,000 ryo left over for food.

Cost of food per month is 250 usd= 3704 ryo = 37,046.25 yen
19.93 usd =295 ryo = 2,953.75 yen is what she has left every month as pocket change.
That pocket change would go into her Gama Chan to make her newly bought little fat orange frog wallet fat.
While her adult mind knows 'gama-chan' was only bought to teach her the value of saving money by the hokage, her inner child also delights in making the embroidered frog fat too.
They buy alot of things throughout the day, the food is mostly just stuff she can easily make, or Even just ready made.
She also got the staples like eggs, milk, a rainbow of vegtables, a bunch of spices, sugar, beans, lunchmeat, bread, and a large sack of rice.
For school supplies he brought her to 'shinobi outfitters' which primarily sold to academy students.
The old man told her that it's traditional for students to buy multiples of the same outfit so chunin sensei's can recognize their students in case of an attack, or some sort of disaster much like the ninetails so long ago.
It was a holdover from the warring states era.
supposedly it was to get students used to a uniform or the unique sets of armor clan children wore every day to the academy.
For example the Uchihas High collar armored coats, the Aburame clans full body coverings, and the Nara's preposition to chain mail thick wire mesh under armor.
Naruto ended up buying an obnoxiously tangerine orange, cream, and sky blue jumpsuit.
According to the hokage it was anything but subtle for a ninja in training, she took it as a challenge that if she could become stealthy in that- well how would they catch her withought it.
The jumpsuit was stretchy and big enough that she had room to grow in it- so she wouldn't have to buy another for awhile when her growth spirts start hitting and she shoots up like a bean stalk.
One day she'd be taller then the old man!

The old man lead her away from the swords when her eyes caught sight of them, she was still too small for them and if she had one she'd just hurt herself.

Participation after the second year is voluntary, not compulsory.
For example Kunoichi classes however, most students belong to individual clubs instead.
Clubs are broadly divided into two categories—martial arts clubs and culture clubs, and there are various kinds within each category.
Clubs range from those which are enjoyed casually once or twice a week, to tough clubs which meet not only almost every day after school, but also on holidays.
Some students even going to academy just to participate in the clubs to prepare for future apprenticeships in other sectors working for the villiage.
Even students who graduate the academy and become genin sometimes take classes there to rebrush up their education to qualify.
The frequency and content of the activities vary depending on the club.
Each club has a supervising teacher of appropriate rank, but emphasis is placed on student independence outside of general classes.
At a craft store she was allowed to buy a whole basket of paints, colors, and beautiful paper for any art she'd eventually make.
She bought pens and pencils, note books, and washable chalk.
The last store she buys two gallons of bleach which the old man purposely tells her is for cleaning up stains on clothes.
Like grass, spilt food... and blood.
