Chapter 4
The academy is huge!
It's is a huge building located directly at the base of the Hokage Mountain below the carved monument.
Its where prospective ninja- aka kids enrolled like Naruto would be trained and where official ninja receive their assignments at the mission desk located inside.
Which is where missions are dispatched and the day-to-day running of the village takes place. Something called the Jōnin Standby Station is located on the compound too.
The old man told her the academy was founded by the Second Hokage out of necessity.
Although apparently the creation of the academy was quite hypocritical to the founders dream.
Madara Uchiha, a powerful and legendary shinobi and the Uchiha clan head at the time, co-founded Konohagakure with Hashirama Senju to achieve their shared dream of peace.
The Senju, the Uchiha, and all their affiliated clans came together to found a village of peace, where children would never need to die in battle.
The other countries soon followed Konohagakure's example and built their own hidden villages; and not long after was the first shinobi war.
New soldiers were needed to fill the empty ranks so the academy was created to train them and instill in them the will of fire, of loyalty together.
As a result underlyingly children went to war younger and younger, for example early graduated geniuses like hatake Kakashi and Itachi Uchiha.
The academy is comprised of several buildings which were erected over a series of time.
The oldest date back to the founding like the hokages office while other buildings were torn down and rebuilt as needed for expansion.
The building can be identified by the huge tree in front of it which has a swing on it.
Already Naruto loves it, it reminds her of the parks she used to play on in her previous life.
Of how she used to and now still could swing high in the sky.
So high it almost felt like she could fly like a bird, like she could touch the sky.
Theres also a giant sign with the kanji for "fire" (火) on it next to the tree too.
So... there's really no missing it.
Classrooms in the Academy are large and have high ceilings, based on a theory that larger classrooms lead to expansive education, expanding even to the blackboard itself.
In front of the blackboard is a podium, where academy senseis stand.
Its situated far from the students' desks and put in a position where the teacher can view everyone at once.
She's early to her first day to pick her seat; she wants the window seat in the middle left hand corner of the classroom.
The old man was up on a stage before they were allowed to finally go inside with their teachers, he was preaching about the will of fire again not that she was paying attention.
She was sitting on the swing in the back going up and down and above the audience for seconds at a time to see what he was yapping about.
The adults didn't allow her in the front with the rest of the children.
When she initially tried she got over a dozen dirty looks and eventually they literally shoved her in the back.
Nobody cared but atleast she could still hear his message, afteall the old man's voice was amplified by his Chakra.
She'd be learning about that too.
