A friendship (+our girl falling in love again)
Like any protagonist with a mission, she went to fulfil it. And meet with Shisui again the next day.
This time, she was less nervous. Yay. Progress.
After some greetings, she became nervous over what to say next because she was still awkward. Why was she like this?
"I notice you have a crow hanging around you all the time, Himeko-san. Is it a pet?"
He looked amused. Oh, he looked so hot with that smile.
"No, not really. I actually met him yesterday, and... I suppose it's just been following me around?"
She chuckled awkwardly at her explanation. Shisui was so good at conversation. Her mother would probably tell her to take tips from him.
He didn't look the least bit surprised and just chuckled along with her.
"It sounds like it's more like a cat than a crow."
Why did she feel like crying at that carefree laugh?
How long has it been since she heard him laugh like that? How long had it been someone even laughed with her?
And so, she just laughed with him. She could cry later.
She needed to enjoy this moment. It was still possible that she could die again after all.
Shisui still noticed.
She forgot he was a ninja.
"... Are you ok?"
And there it was, the one question she hated.
But, if it was him who asked that then how could she even lie? To him, she would never lie after all. That would be akin to betrayal.
"I got a bit emotional. You see, it's been a while since I laughed like this."
And Shisui just blinked and then smiled.
"I'm glad you could share that beautiful laugh with me then."
She thought she fell for him again. Her heart stopped for a moment and god. She just wanted to see that smile directed at her forever.
And so, began her dream of them being married. (Not like that wasn't there before)
And Shisui thinking he found a nice friend. Not realizing he was now stuck for life.
