Cursed Mark of Heaven
As the flames subsided, Sakura jumped down from the overhanging tree branch to where Sasuke was bent over, breathing heavily.
"You did it Sasuke, it's all over," she whispered as she put a hand on Sasuke's back. He then glanced at her before sighing. "Good...that's all I had..." he revealed.
Suddenly Sakura fell away from Sasuke while he stiffened. They couldn't move! How is that possible? She managed to get to her knees when she heard that ninja's voice cut through the precious silence, "Such mastery of the Sharingan at so young an age...you're a true Uchiha after all."
Her eyes widened.
No...Sasuke killed that woman. She saw her body slump against the tree-! What's that sound? It was like a zipper being pulled down. She looked to the side and saw the ninja's head worming through the air! Her heart quickened its pace and sweat started to rise from her pores.
This woman was about to do something horrible to Sasuke, she could tell. She won't let that happen.
Sakura bit the inside of her cheek, sending a sharp pain through his body that made her jolt, and using that momentum, she rose and stuck out her arm diagonally of Sasuke's neck just as the head on the long neck neared-
And her open mouth clamped down on her forearm.
A brief, startling scream ripped through her vocal cords then she sank to the floor. "Sakura!" Sasuke cried as he looked at her clutch her arm which now had two pinpricks where blood now oozed from. Then he looked at the head which still loomed. "What have you done to her, freak?" he demanded, eyes flashing in rage. The ninja's eyes narrowed. "I have done nothing, she got in the way," she spat.
Sakura cried out again, drawing Sasuke's attention.
He knelt beside her, wincing at the pain in his right leg from where he'd stabbed himself but shoving it to the back of his mind. "Sakura, let me see..." he whispered. She didn't move her hand. "Come on Sakura," he half-shouted. She swiftly moved her hand to reveal three commas bordered by three lines that connected in the shape of elliptical petals.
What the hell was this.
"There's no point in trying to help her, she'll die anyway. The cursed seal of heaven kills those that are too weak to bear it." Cursed seal? "You were gonna put this on me because you thought I was strong enough to have it?" The ninja smiled coyly. "Yes. But now it's been wasted..." She paused as the rosette raised her head and met her exposed golden eye.
"If this is what Sasuke would've gone through...then I'm glad to suffer!" she shouted.
Both Sasuke and the ninja was amazed.
She shouldn't be able to move far less speak yet she was handling the mark like she was destined to have it! The ninja smirked. "I was hasty to dismiss you...Sakura was it? Looks like things have gone more interesting." Then she rose their heaven scroll into view. Sakura and Sasuke tensed. What was this person going to do now?
That instant the scroll caught on fire before their eyes.
Sakura gasped while Sasuke gritted his teeth. "Now, now don't be mad; when Sakura defeats my Sound ninjas, you'll get a scroll then. In the meantime, find a good place to hide though that won't save you." Then she chuckled as she slowly sank into the tree. Sasuke drew two kunai and threw them at the enemy ninja's head but she was gone by the time they reached so they only embedded in the charred trunk's bark
