Chapter 1
Chapter 1: A celebration of love
The wedding, held in the middle of August was a sight to behold as it overlook the Hokage Monument, bathed in the golden light of the warm sunshine, and tinted with orange of the leaves. It was perfect. The grandest event of Konoha, the wedding of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga.
The event spread like wildfire when the news first broke out. The son of the fourth Hokage, a war hero is finally getting married. The wedding was attended by literally anyone and anyone, all the Kages, their friends, their family. Even with ramen as the main dishes
…It was just not the wedding everyone has expected.
Satsuki Uchiha stood on the sideline of the event, quiet and brooding as always. She would have skip the whole thing if it wasn’t because of Minato and Kushina ambushing her into coming. They have always understand the kind of relationship that their son and the Uchiha heiress share, and they knew Naruto would have hated to celebrate his biggest day with his best friend. And sure, Satsuki was here, but she is not really here.
“You look like you are at a funeral.” Ino innocently direct a jab at Satsuki, especially at the attire she has chosen to show up in. A black Kimono, with red lining and white lily embroidered on in. It was classy and timeless…but somber and fucking depressing to look at especially when other guest has dress so colorfully to match Naruto’s colorfully personality.
“Ino! Don’t be rude. I think it’s functional.” Sakura quickly said
And Satsuki doesn’t even care about their conversation. Her eyes and mind was elsewhere.
Naruto stood at the center of it all, the wedding and the world. The Sun.
He was grinning as brightly as ever, dressed him costumed orange wedding robe with gold accents. Beside him was the perfect princess in white. Hinata was the vision of elegance, with her white Kimono with purple peony spread all across the expensive Kimono.
Minato and Kushina sat proudly at the front, beaming at their son. “I bet you never saw this coming, huh?” Minato whispered to his wife, laughing softly.
…of course neither one of them or anyone has saw this coming. Everyone knew that Hinata has had a crush on Naruto since forever… but Naruto?
Kushina smiled softly, “Honestly? I always thought…” She trailed off, casting a quick glance toward the dark beauty of an Uchiha in the back of the crowd.
Because it was not just the villagers who were surprised when they got the wedding invitation. Even Naruto’s parents has thought, no, assumed, that this wedding would have been happening with a very different bride.
Satsuki could feel all the eyes on her, but as always, she refused to acknowledge them. She watched as the ceremony unfolded, clapped when needed to, and only talk when is talked to. Even congratulating him but, still, it’s almost like she wasn’t even there.
…Satsuki didn’t known that it would hurt this much. She really is a fool for believing that karma could still have mercy for her. After everything, the bloodshed battle, the near-deaths, the whispered promises in the dead of that night…she really believe she would have been the one.
The winner really takes it all, huh?
