A list at the end of the world

Alex feels his chest settle with something like resignation. This is it. This is the end. Despite it all, the warmth of Henry’s fingers wrapped in his own still his anxious heart. He didn’t know clasped palms could feel so easy, and so much like home.Silence stretches out between them and Alex can feel how their breathing syncs up like a symphony, it’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever heard.“Alex?” Henry’s voice is so quiet against the explosions around them. Alex can barely hear him, but he hums in response, to urge Henry on. From the corner of his eye, he can see Henry biting on his lower lip.“Would it be terribly out of line, if I told you I love you? I was listening to the radio one rainy day and heard a song that got me thinking about Alex and Henry at the end of the world. With that in mind, please note that this is very much a “the world is ending” fic, so in short: no one survives. There's the natural "world is ending" angst, alongside the pining and wanting to declare your love angst. But also soft moments sprinkled with some suspense. This is my first time writing a fic like this so I'm sorry if I miss any tags/ warnings.
