Med. - Marvel MCU - Daisy Soulmates
3.2.2020 (My Birthday)
“Ma’am you can’t be up here!” she heard. “This is for restricted personnel and you need to leave immediately.”
Daisy turned slightly around to smile at a very tall and handsome man wearing a navy blue suit. “There is two reasons I’m here, and only one of them is because I’m lost.”
He stumbled before he came to a stop some 5 feet away. He seemed ready to make a break for it. “I don’t want another soulmate,” he said, effectively stabbing her through the heart. He shook his head and kept walking past.
Daisy breathed deeply while she got her crying under control.
One down.
>> The workshop was on the 17th floor, where her team would begin making prototypes for House Pet Robots for Stark Industries.
“You okay?”
Daisy shook her head. “My soulmate just rejected me,” she mumbled. “Literally his second sentence to me was ‘bye.’”
“Oh darling!” Daisy leaned into Delilah’s careful hug and cried for a few minutes more. The others continued to unpack their equipment but awkwardly now.
Daisy worked with 4 others. Sebastian Smalls, Grant Evens, Delilah Diggory and Lina Larson. Lina and Grant were tech coders, Delilah was an engineer and Sebastian was a mechanic.
It was when Lina patted her shoulder and said, “Very off. Much yikes,” that she finally stopped crying.
“Fuck off Lina!” she swatted blindly at her while wiping her face clear of snot and tears. “How do we like the set up?” she asked to distract herself.
Sebastian looked ready to explode. “So many outlets!” he exclaimed.
“Maybe you won’t be able to blow the fuses here,” Lina half laughed.
“Don’t be so sure,” Grant muttered.
>> Despite everything it was a blissful week of work. They’d been handed the reigns to a project for making furbies but better.
“Furbies are only evil because they have soulless eyes,” Daisy said. “So we’re going to use more basic features for the face, less fur and generally easier for people to project their emotions onto.”
