Avengers - soulmate AU
24.1.2020
Shitty soulmates.
That was her problem. the universe missed or something because there was no way her soulmates were - could be so callous towards her. she very much felt like crying when she found them.
5/6 of the Avengers were gathered together in the Tower Common Room, quite obviously in the middle of a games night. she watched as Natashe cuddled into Steven's side with her feet int Tony's lap. Bruce was in the opposing armchair and had clint leaning back on his knees. They looked cute. They looked happy.
Roxy didn't try to be stealthy as she walked from the lift to the common kitchen. The Laughter abruptly stopped.
"I'm just grabbing some spare snacks," she said loudly. "Be outta your hair in a minute."
"We did try to invite you," Clint spoke up. "But Jarvis said you'd left the Tower."
"Without telling us," Captain America added. She heard someone get up and he rounded the corner with a glare scrunching up his face. "You need to let us know where you're going, who you're going with and how long you'll be."
Roxy looked at him. Really looked. "No," she said at last, before she pulled out a tub of yogurt from the fridge followed by some juice. "I did actually send you a message through Jarvis that I intended to go out today. It was about 4 days ago. You were all invited too!:
Recognition flitted across his face. All of them had declined dinner with her. Tony - through a security officer - gave her an unlimited credit card to pay for dinner with. Roxy half thought that it was actually Jarvis that had had it delivered.
Rogers rallied, chest swelling up. "Its a security risk for you to leave the Tower," he tried. "It was irresponsible of you."
Roxy stared him straight in the eye. "Noted. I'll let you get back to your party," she said.
"Hey, whats in the bag?" Clint asked as she walked to the lift. "Is it leftovers?"
"No. Its my birthday cake."

She spent that night packing. There wasn't a lot to pack, but she had to take breaks for sobbing and stress eating. Breaking ip with a soulmate was hard. breaking ties with 5 was hard. she'd gone over their words with a sharpie so she didn't have to look at them.
Once she'd zipped up her suitcase, knew where her wallet, phone, earphones and leave in conditioner was, she slipped the sling ring onto her finger. Roxy took a stance and opened a sparkling portal. She threw the bags through, said a quick farewell to Jarvis and then the portal closed.
It stood to reason that neither Wong nor Stephen were awake to her entrance. But the Cloak of Levitation came on down to say hello. She rubbed it from one shoulder to the other a single time before it fluttered out of reach; as finicky as a cat.
She was familiar with the New York Branch, and let herself into the guest rooms. Sleep was difficult but she slept.

"I want to pick up my training."
Wong looked neither surprised nor pleased at the news. "I will speak to the other Masters and find you a suitable teacher," he said. "In the meantime go and stack those shelves there."
Roxy grinned and gave him a quick peck on his cheek. "Love you Wong!"
"Liar."
She did not return to America as she once again became Wong's... assistant? Disciple? Who knew. Especially as none of the other Masters were keen to take her on.
"You have a history of disobedience and your friendship with Kaecilius has marred your reputation further," said Wong.
Stephen piped in with, "You knew Kaecilius?"
The three were having lunch in London. "I was one of his disciples," she told him. "He used to tape me down to meditate. It had middling success."
"His disciple? Why is this the first time I've heard of this?"
Roxy shrugged and stole a chip from his plate. "This is the first time its come up. You can't blame me for you not asking."
