What is Real

Ivy was breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath. She looked around for a way back back up, her hand clenched as she struggled to get up. As she felt the ring it brought her attention back to the ring, reanalyzing it. The ring said “ Promise to be with you forever plus a day”
Ivy saw something in the corner of her eye, two fuzzy figures. They were unlike the figure before, they were blurry and more of a blue then washed out colors. Ivy swore she heard humming, looking around she finally looked back at the figures, the taller one seemed to be carrying the other, who was significantly shorter.
An echoed, young voice asked “Auntie? When will uncle return?” a deeper voice responded
“Soon sweetheart, right now he is protecting us everyday.” the smaller figure looked at the taller and tilted their head,
“Will he forget us?” The small voice asked, the taller looked down at the small child she was carrying.
“He won’t, me, your other uncle and your brother got him a ring to remember all of us. He promised he would.” The figure ran a hand through the smaller's hair. The voices glitched out as the figures faded. Ivy was about to leave the lake when the same smaller figure reappeared,.Ivy noticed long hair that covered the burry face as she looked grimly at the water.
Climbing the stairs she hoped got her out of the lake area, a heart wrenching, purely terrified, scream wrenched out of the figure. Ivy was too scared to look back, the scream pushed her to go faster up the stairs. She tripped around the middle of the staircase at the dome pergola. She grabbed the railing and hurried to the top.
Once Ivy made it to the top she dashed to the cottage. When she made it to the kitchen the first person she saw was Leo, Leo was also the first to see her. Grabbing medical supplies Leo rushed to Ivy to fix her wounds. Ivy sat down on the counter, as Leo rolled up the loose sleeve on her left arm to get to work.
"Peter, go get me my jumper and sweats! HURRY!" Leo commanded, while it may have been summer it was about 5 degrees outside, the house was a bit colder, since they have yet to find the thermostat. Leo started with the cuts and bruises, the adrenaline wore off and the cold washed over Ivy. The wet clothes stung, like ice stuck to skin. Ivy yelped as the Isopropyl alcohol was poured on the scattered cuts covering her arm.
Leo shook Ivy’s shoulder “Ivy I need you to take off your jacket and shirt.” Ivy nodded and did so. She sat back down and Leo went back to attending to the uncovered wounds.
“What happened Ivy?” Leo asked once they were finished putting on the bandages. Ivy shrugged and shook her head trying to comprehend what happened. Leo just stared at her and rose an eyebrow.
“I fell off the cliff into the lake.” Ivy answered stating the partial truth. Leo nodded accepting the answer. Harry arrived with new clothes, a grey hoodie, a green tank top, and black sweats. Harry left first after Leo whispered something to him. Leo left not long after to give her time to change. Once Ivy was alone, she thought back to the moments at the lake.
What was that figure? Was it the tiny girls uncle? Why did she see those figures? Why were they different from the original figure? Why didn’t the others hear the girl? Ivy shook her head of those thoughts, and got dressed silently thanking Leo for said clothes. She walked out to the living still freezing cold. “What temperature is it in here?” Ivy asked.
"Um I don't know, were trying to find the thermostat tho!" Peter stated, walking up to Ivy as soon as she walked in. He grabbed Ivy's arm and started to lead her to the dark brown couch.
"It's done!" Harry yelled from the kitchen. Peter left to the kitchen, smiling knowing what Harry finished. Ivy rose an eyebrow as she sat down, she imedditly wrapped herself in her favorite thick blanket. Peter and Harry walked in with fresh chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate.
Leo walked in not long after with Disney movies and more blankets. Ivy couldn't stop her smile from shining as they all walked in.
"Thank you guys, this means a lot to me." She stated with a warm sense of comfort filling her.
"Really? No problem mate! No need to thank us. You need it right now!" Leo stated as happy to help as ever. They all cuddled with one another, each holding a plate of cookies and a cup of hot chocolate. They watched Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, and many others. By the end of the 3rd movie, 4 of the 5 were asleep.
Peter being the only one awake got up carefully, to go change. Once he entered his room he saw something he hadn't seen before, a compartment on the floor. Inside of it was a gun, which he elected not to touch, and a book. Peter grabbed the book and placed it on rhe dresser, while he got changed.
When Peter looked back at the book, it was gone. Peter was just so confused at this point. With tems moving throughout the day, figures that were never there, and things floating around from time to time. Peter mentally elected to just head back into the cuddle pile. So he did exactly that.

More are found throughout the days, will they learn what happened under their gaze.
