Happy Birthday, Jamie Boy!

Sirius was laying lazily on his bed when James burst into his bedroom, slamming the door on the process.
"We need to talk." said James slightly out of breath trying to sound severe.
Sirius push himself up on his elbows.
"Sure Prongsie, what´s up?" He asked with a curious grin.
"I know about you and Remus." declared James. Sirius grin faded.
"What about me and Remus?"
"Don´t play dumb Pads." said James sitting on the edge of the bed." I don´t understand why you kept it a secret. Specially why you kept it from me but it´s pretty obvious and-"
"What on Merlin´s beard are you going on about Jamie my boy?"
"What?" they just stare at each other for a moment until James spoke again. "You and Remus are going out."
Sirius just stared. James had him. But then he started laughing.
"That was a weird joke even for you Jamie."
James grabbed Sirius by the shoulders. Sirius stopped laughing. His brother wasn´t joking.
"Prongs, I really don´t know what you are talking about." said Sirius with his eyes furrowed. He was trying really hard to comprehend James which was odd seeing as usually the two of them could maintain a full mental conversation.
"You really don´t."
It wasn´t a question. James realized Sirius had to be the biggest most oblivious git on the entire wizarding world. Bigger than himself. How could he not realized he was in love with Moony? It was so obvious.
"I really don´t." repeated Sirius with a soft smile. The one that was reserved only for three special people.
"So you are telling me, you aren´t going out with Moony behind our backs?"
"Why on earth would you think such a thing?"
"But what about when he´s at the hospital?"
"What about it?"
"Well you take notes for him."
"I did that for you also when that slythering banished your arm´s bones at the last match."
"Well yeah, but you stay with Remus even if he is asleep and you never let go of his hand. And Godric forbid if some makes a loud noise."
Sirius had no response so James went on.
"And that time he was sore from the full moon you carry his things everywhere even when he insisted he didn´t need help. How can´t you see it? You pass things to him without him even having to ask. You can share wands for fudges sake. He braids your hair. You snuggle…"
"We only snuggle when I´m Padfoot and after the full moon."
"You know that´s not true." James look straight into Sirius eyes. "You cuddle often. You sleep in the same bed-"
"I also sleep with you, tosser."
"But you haven´t since third grade. You sleep with Moony as often as you can. You steal his sweaters-"
"I like how they smell."
"You get jealous every time a girl asks him out-"
"I do not!"
"Last time you hexed Emeline."
"But that was… it was just because…"
"You buy him chocolate." James proceeded. "You let him take a shower first even if you are sweaty from practice. You started wearing eyeliner since he told you, you looked pretty."
"I thinks is very punk."
"Sirius please." Pleaded James. "Are you telling me you have absolutely no feelings whatsoever towards Remus."
Sirius was awfully quiet.
"Padfoot, you seriously had never thought about any of this?"
"Well… maybe I might sometimes but I just… he is my friend you know I thought it was normal… Not normal, obviously I have never thought about kissing you or Peter but…"
"Sirius! Have you thought about kissing Moony?!"
"Well yeah but only because he is… only because I... Bloody hell Prongs! I´m in love with Moony!" screamed Sirius jumping to his feet on his bed. James stood up as well. They grabbed each other.
" I know! " screamed James back.
"I fancy Remus!"
"I know!"
There were loud footsteps on the corridor. And then Remus appeared. Stopping at the door frame to catch his breath. His face was red and he was bending in order to breath. He hadn´t looked up.
"Pads, I need to talk to you…" his eyes darted up." Oh, James you are here."
"Don´t worry Moony. I was just leaving." said James as he jumped down the bed. He patter Remus on the back on his way out and said loud enough for the other two boys to hear. "Get your man."
"James!" Screamed Sirius and Remus at the same time. Then the three of them let out a chuckle and James left to let them sort all out.
The guests started arriving and neither Sirius nor Remus had gone down to the party. James was beginning to get worried.
"S´alright James." Lily held James hand to prevent him from fidgeting. "I´m sure there´s a lot to talk about, after all."
"I just hope they are not mad or worse."
"I´m sure they aren´t. If something had gone wrong one of them would have got down with their knickers twisted, don´t you think?"
As always Lily was right, thought James. Everything was fine. Surely if something weren´t right his two stubborn best friends wouldn´t be so quiet. Still as the minutes passed on James couldn´t shake off a strange feeling that told him something out of the ordinary was going on. James looked at the clock on the shelf of the living room. The music was loud. The housel eves were helping with the drinks and food and everyone seemed to be having fun. Of course, their closets friends had asked about Sirius and Remus but James, had just shrugged the question of. It wasn´t his place to disclose the nature of the relationship that was still being discussed.
"James try to have fun. Come on, let´s dance." said Lily attempting to distract him. "I know you love this song."
Lily started dancing. She was a terrible dancer. James wonder how nobody got hurt dancing around her. Her steps were so wild and out of rhythm. Still James could help but smile, because those awkward dance moves were just his Lily´s. And even when being out of tune James thought she looked rather beautiful. And so, James complied. And they dance for another half hour until James decided it was too much. His best friends had been on Sirius room for around two hours.
"James you can´t hurry them up." protested Lily following him to the second floor.
James was determinately climbing up the stairs. When they arrived, the music couldn´t be heard anymore. And there were no screams or crying. That was a good sing thought James. Meant Moony and Pads were still talking things over. But then James noticed something odd. As his hand were touching the door knob to Sirius´s room he noticed the second floor was silent. But the silence seemed unnatural. There wasn´t the lightest sound coming from the room. No murmurs, no giggles, no sobs. Nothing. That preoccupied James even more. But then he looked at Lily.
Lily was a few steps behind him. And she stared back. Just as he did with Sirius, Lily understood what James´s eyes were asking. No, his two best friend wouldn´t ditch his birthday party. Lily shook her head. They wouldn´t have taken off like that.
The same feeling of hurt from earlier invaded James chest. He didn´t knew what he wanted to find anymore. Maybe he would open the door and find the room empty, which could be a good thing for their best friends but James would feel really bad if they had left him on his birthday. On the other hand he could open the door and find them sitting in complete silence. James hopped they were asleep.
So, James took in a deep breath and opened the door.
Lily heard different screams one after another.
"Fuck! Moony, yes!"
Sirius.
"Bloody Merlin my fucking eyes! What the fuck! My eyes!"
James.
"James shut the fucking door!"
Remus.
James shut the door and push Lily back to spare her the view.
The silencing charm had been broken. James and Lily could hear the laughter coming from inside the room. And so, with no more dignity left James laughed to. Lily joined.
"Sorry Prongs!" screamed Remus from the other side of the door.
"Lily and I will get going lads, so you two can carry on. But put back on the spell or mum will hear you." roared James with laughter. Sirius and Remus laughter was all they got as response.
"Thank you Prongsie." was Sirius´s cynical response.
"On my fucking birthday, you pair of wankers." said James, shaking his head with an amused smile.
He and Lily started making their way downstairs but not without hearing one last scream. Lily laughed. James fake a sight as they heard Sirius voice once again.
"Happy birthday, Jamie boy!"
