Fidelius ideas
Why not put Tonks house under it
Magical cost to it – the more people know about it, the more energy/magic it takes to maintain
Strategic approach to warding – the path to Hogwarts begins at x street and continues over y hill to Hogwarts, then ward the castle in a way that still allows it to be used as a school
Using the spell to hide abstract concepts like identities (what about Harry’s scar? If we were to put “the BWLs scar is on his forehead” under the fidelius, how would that affect things? Would people see the scar and not connect it to BWL things until being shown Harry is the BWL? Would they not see it unless they know Harry as the BWL?)
Is ownership a component of the fidelius?
Possible protection for the horcruxes: tell the diary about all of them and put it under the fidelius. Keep written secret in vault and release it to second in command upon being declared dead
Could the black sisters do damage to the house and smoke the inhabitants out?
would obliviate remove someone’s ability to access a place under fidelus if they forgot the secret?
• could you even do that if you didn’t know the secret?
could a possessing spirit get into a fidelused place if the owner of the body knows the secret?
Conjure things inside a fidelius where you don’t know the secret? (i.e. a nundu in grimmauld place)
Hogwarts express ticket holds fidelius, that’s why it exists and how the platform is kept secret
The Fidelius seems to be a powerful magical charm that can hide a 'Secret' in peoples souls I think the Statue is similiar in the sense that it takes part of that, and then also combines it with kinda a 'notice-me-not'. If a Muggle sees general magic, be it people casting, or magical animals not controlled, they'll just rationalize it as 'something weird' If they're exposed to it repeatedly, like Lily was encouraged to do magic as a child, its possible to break through it. If the mind isn't able to rationalize it, then the enchantment will direct the thoughts to something Muggles do understand (Like nuns believing children are possessed by the devil, despite it not being a thing, because they believe it could happen)
We see Hermionie Obliviate her parents, and I think, combined with the existence of Obliviation Squads, that both the Statute and Obliviate work in tandem. She Obliviates them of memory of her, and it promptly effects everything. I do not believe an untrained witch can just do that first try, so I choose to believe that it kinda just 'reset' her parents, piggybacking onto a more powerful enchantment
Essentially wiping the 'Secret' from them
