Why wont this egg leave me alone??!

Diagon Alley

Leaving the wandmakers, the three head to the Leaky Caldron for lunch. Pomona half listened to Mei and tried to answer here and there but mostly she was thinking about their time in Ollivanders that morning.

Looking at her coworker helped to bring her out of her contemplation, he looked like he was already planning a year full of intense fast-paced Potions tutelage and was positively gleeful. Ah, yes she is talented. Now she’s thinking about it again, hypothetically, they knew she was powerful since both were present during the scan. But even Harry Potter had a normal pre-made wand for magic's sake! Maybe one of them should ask the boy if there's anything unique about it. Or sik Hatsume on him, they seemed to get along this morning.

Oh well, no sense in dwelling, we’re probably in for at least another surprise before they left the alley. Pomona really should have knocked on wood. The Leaky Cauldron wasn't too busy so they were able to get a window table for Mei to look out, lest she get too bored in her seat. As they waited for their food, the teachers listened to Mei talk about the school she came from, UA High.

“So if I’m understanding this correctly, it’s like a top-of-the-line Military Boarding school?” Severus asked.

“Yes! Accept significantly more privately funded and overseen by the hero commission instead of the country’s government.”

“And your Principle isn’t human?” Pomona throws her question out, sounding more curious than anything.

“Principles Nezu’s super cool and totally the nicest on staff! He built hidden tunnels all around the school and he’ll come to visit me just to listen to my latest ideas and give his feedback! He has a catchphrase about being a ‘mouse or a bear?’ but I think he's actually some type of albino stoat cross.” She pulls something out of her pocket and starts to fidget with it on the table. “He’s taken my friend 10m-Izuku, sorry, my friend Izuku-kun as a personal student this year. Nezu has a high specs quirk which makes him one of the smartest beings on the planet, so pairing him with Zu’s analysis and cheery outward disposition, it’s kinda scary, even for me.”

“Who are some of your other friends or classmates? Or anyone with cool quirks you’ve made something for?” Her world was very interesting. Pomona can hardly imagine even with magic, what it would be like to live in a world with superpowers.

“There's a girl in the hero department that is invisible, and I got to work with the DNA sequencer to create a suit for her! Lately, I've gotten to know Shoto-kun better. I weirdly find him down in the studio a lot, now that I think about it.” She looks off into the distance in thought before shrugging, “Maybe the older students are trying to recruit him. He has this super useful Half Ice Half Fire quirk, and enough daddy issues to get him to agree to almost anything if it’d piss his father off.” Pulling out her phone and fidgeting around for a second, “Here watch this, it's a montage of all the times we’ve gotten a recording of him yelling Shoto's name.”

With a giggle, the video starts playing and the two could see a huge man covered in flames with flame facial hair, walk through a door before a bucket of water is triggered and dumped on him putting out all the flames. There's a blissful moment of silence before in a flash, the man's back on the fire and he's tilting his head back and shouting SHOTOOOOO at the top of his lungs. His flame burst had then triggered the fire alarm, once again drenching the man. A kid with half red and half white hair and the most deadpan expression they’ve ever seen enters the frame, grabs the camera, and points it straight at the guy's face to his obvious confusion.

“I guess he Does have a round jawline, Huh. It’s nice to know I look like my mother.” Before a kid with green hair zooms in, picks up the other kid, and zooms off before the man can react and the video continues to a montage of just the moments of the scream and the pauses right before or right after. Not ever knowing who they were, it was highly entertaining. Especially as Mei explained he was the number 2 hero but had been training his son to the point of abuse since he got his powers at 5. While she said he was ‘going that sweet route of redemption, it still brings Shoto more joy than anyone should get messing with his dad. These videos also apparently raised the man's approval ratings by a significant margin, something about relatability with the audience. At the end was a short clip of a camera zooming in on the half and half boy's face, whose lips had quirked into the tiniest of smiles as the sounds of his dad being hit with a fire extinguisher resounded in the background.

Severus's lack of reaction to the device reminded her that he was much more familiar with the muggle world than she was. He did look intrigued though, she remembered Hatsume saying that their tech was more advanced than here. Must be, she should mention patenting ideas with Gringotts so she can sell to muggle companies.

When the food finally arrived there wasn't much talking till the end. “What more do we have to do today?” Mei asked.

Severus pulled a list out of his robe pocket. “I believe you should spend some time in Flourish and Botts, it’s the bookstore. Miss Sprout and I can get your astronomy and Potions supplies and anything else we missed while you're there. After that, we can pick up your wand and clothes before finishing at the menagerie or Eyelops before heading back to the castle.” She hands them the amount of gallions they’ll need for the supplies and splits ways.

Mei doesn't know what they were thinking, leaving her alone in a magic bookstore with so much money left after that clothing deal. Grabbing a basket she heads straight for the back, where it's probably less traveled. The prices back here were better than she'd been expecting. While the conversion is 1 Gallion to 15 Pounds right now, she hadn't been accounting for the level of inflation(or lack of). With this in mind, she grabbed all kinds of books on the theory behind the different branches, and probably way too many books on runes. Making her way through the isles to the front, she picked up more books on things like household charms, Herbology, wand lore/cores/and woods, politics, pureblood families and traditions, along with several books on creatures. It was this section on creatures that led her down the next deep rabbit hole.

Mei looked through a dusty shelf and found this cute green palm-size book in big easy-to-read letters. “Creatures and their Languages”. Inside is an adorable picture book with brief sentences for kids like, “A Selkie speaks Mermish!” with a picture of what she presumes is a Selkie. The next page on the spread is a cartoon drawing of one above water and below, “They have a beautiful song underwater but sound like screeching when they breach the surface into the air.”

Huh, she wonders where they live. The next page had a snake. “Serpents, Dragons, and some reptiles speak Parsletongue!” The next page had a snake charmer on it, “Parslemouths are naturally born with the skill, and the world's majority can be found in the country of India.” Now that's just so cool, she wonders how many there are in the British Isles.

The book continues but all Mei can think about is that while magic hasn't been able to translate some of these languages, that doesn't mean technology can't either. She did translation projects in elementary school, the only hard part would be finding someone who speaks the language and meeting in person or fire calling. Or she could send them a phone by owl, with instructions on how to voice record. She could design a simple wizard-friendly app and everything.

Putting the book in her cart she continues through the isles. Grabbing more on defensive and offensive spells, joke spells, the two books Madam Malkin recommended, animaguses, and healing. Wishing she could get more but also realizing she doesn't even really have room to put what she has somewhere, she heads to the counter. Which conveniently had a stand for colored journals. Grabbing 1 of every color, it was honestly a huge variety. They had dark and light versions of all the base rainbow colors plus the house accent colors of gold, bronze, and silver. They had a line inspired by different gems that included shimmery emerald, amethyst, and sapphire covers. So on top of the 30 odd color journals, she also snagged another 30 plain black. Overall it heavily dented her clothing money.

The wizard rang her up politely due to the large order but rather dismissively, completely tuned into the radio that seemed to be airing some type of sports game. Do they have radio? Mei leaves after grabbing several of their different catalogs for mail order and dropping off payment for a 6month subscription to Witch Weekly, Daily Profit, Quibbler, and various branch magic magazines. She heard a rumor that a lot of her professors contributed to them.

She nearly ran into Ms. Sprout when she was leaving the store. “Oh! Hello dear, I was just coming to see how you were doing. Find everything alright?” Mei felt herself relax under the motherly aura the older woman lets off.

“Professor Snape went to get you a trunk, that's normally one of the first stops but we did things a bit out of order and forgot.” Mei had a tingle in the back of her eyes that foretold that Snape did not in fact forget. He’s the head of the House of the Cunning and Ambitious, right?

“Ah Miss Hatsume, perfect timing.” Came the increasingly familiar drawl to their left. Snape was levitating a sleek black trunk behind him. Mei felt the tingle increase. “Follow Along.. We’ll head to Ollivanders.”

A small gasp behind her drew her attention to Ms. Sprout only to get waved off, but she could tell the professor's gaze was locked on the floating trunk. Her attention was drawn back to Snape anyways when he started to speak.

“In the 18 hours since your arrival you’ve made quite an impression. Professor Sprout was telling me this morning about your discovery with technology, and it is not said lightly when I say I'm impressed. Also.. Your attention to detail and retention of even the smallest bit of information I mentioned was….. Simply astounding.” They had finally neared the wandmaker's shop, so the group stopped and faced each other.

“You have more Potential in your goggles than most of the dunderheads I've had the misfortune of teaching for the past 14 years.” Mei had to hold in the wheeze as the breeze that blew by sounded oddly close to Shotos' voice saying ‘Aizawas Lovechild’. “While I’m sure you will do incredible things and most likely already have a plan for gaining Masteries. I’d like the honor to be able to offer you your first.” Mei realized then, that the tingle must have been anticipation. There's no way she thought it would be this, however.

The beautiful trunk floated to their side. “This is a top-of-the-line Masters Travel Trunk, and it will be my gift to you if you accept the apprenticeship.” He shifts, it’s very subtle, but the brief show of nerves reminds Mei how seriously she needs to take the offer.

Ever since she had seen his entry in the book on Hogwarts, she had wanted to learn under the man. Not only was he the youngest potions master in over a century, but he has single-handedly contributed to the majority of the breakthroughs the field of Potions has seen in the last 16 years. Doing the only thing she could, she gives a respectful bow, “I am beyond honored and accepted your offer of an apprenticeship.” Both of them felt magic settle around them and form a bond. “What was that?” She looked at him confused, then to Sprout who looked even more confused before the expression cleared to surprise, then understanding, before finally smiling softly.

“That dear, I can only assume it was a magic bond being formed. While any master can technically take any student, the greatest partnerships are those that are not only accepted but blessed by mother magic. Britain has seen a huge decline in individuals seeking masteries and we currently have the fewest number of masters than the country has seen in 600 years. This is partially due to the growing split between the Dark and Light Secs that has only gotten worse in the last 70 years. Politics have gotten so volatile since the last war especially now that Master and apprentice are more likely to pair for aligning political beliefs rather than magical and personal compatibility.” She puts her hand on the teenager's shoulder. “Try to think of it as a sign that it’s going to be a beneficial partnership for both of you.”

Appeased by the explanation, Mei’s brain remembers the tingles she had felt touching Fred and George when they helped her stand after her arrival. Telling the professors about it gets two wide-eyed stares directed at her.

It’s Snape who explains this time, “I’ll lend you one of my books on the fates, it would explain better than I’m sure we could. How about we get your wand and clothes?”

Excitement poured off the old man as they entered his shop, and he hurried behind them to lock the shop again. “It's only just finished binding and has been eager for your return,” Ollivander spoke softly as he waved them toward the counter. There in front of them was a long, 3.5in wide, deep blue box. The moment Meis' eyes land on the box her breath catches, it was like her entire body was yelling for her to reach out to it.

She can feel the vibrations it causes in the magic as she reaches out and trances a finger around the box. The box is rather wide compared to most of the ones I tried earlier. Curiosity weighing out, she grasped both ends of the lid and lifted it. Ms. Sprout caught the first glimpse, breaking the silence with a sound that was mixed between a gasp and a choke.

Mei had to drop the lid when she saw her wand, she couldn't have imagined the finished product would be so incredibly beautiful. She slowly reached out, fingers wrapping around a thick curved handle. It was as if all the Shadows in the room disappeared in an instant. Everything was unnaturally silent as if the wand was refusing any distractions during its’ bonding. To everyone beside Mei, reality seems to slow as the wand rises out of the box.

Every Sapphire embedded in the wood was lit up in a bright dazzling glow, the tip of the wand dripping blue and pink sparkles that morphed together into little flying creatures before shimmering out of existence.

She hears Ollivander, his voice barely audible, say, “Give it a flick.” With that flick, the building around them starts to morph. If the four could have heard outside of the wands' silencing spell at that moment, they may have heard screams of shock ringing out from citizens all across the multiple alleys.

With a dusty shudder the walls started to slide backward, the dust the walls kicked up seemed to get swirled into a ball and banished. Cracks in the wood began to mend, Staircases reinforced, Windows thickened and strengthened, and the random stacks of wand boxes arranged themselves on the newly appeared shelves. In a final magical blast from the wand, all the wood was freshly varnished and the wand maker felt the wards vibrate as they were completely filled for the first time in almost 300 years.

The glow around the teenager started to fade and the aura of the wand receded till there was only a faint humming that sounded like a Wands version of a smirk. Everything was silent but this time it was from the four of them absorbing all that had just happened as they looked around the new and improved shop. Mei makes eye contact with Snape and can't suppress the giggle that bubbles up and turns into a full-on laugh. A moment behind Snape joins her followed by the other two. What else could you do after experiencing something like that?

“Thank you for that experience and the unexpected restoration.” They all sat down in chairs Ms. Sprout conjured. “Do you know why your magic would have chosen to do all this?”

Mei stopped to think about it for a sec. Since they had been in the alley she had loved it but also had a feeling deep down that it could be so much better if it had just been taken care of. It had seemed to her that everything was at a point that even if the current residents did something, it would either be too big of a project or too expensive to finish.

“I guess I was just wanting the best for the world I was now living in. I’ve only been in the Alley a couple of hours but I can tell how special it is and it just seems like there was too much to fix for it to be easy or cheap. I can only imagine what the other alleys that aren't as well off are like.” Ms. Sprout's proud teary-eyed gaze was reminding her a bit too much of Mamadoriya, and she had to look away to avoid the homesick feeling that crawled up. Yes, Snape's eye contact was a safer zone, fewer emotions there.

“Interesting, very interesting.” The wandmaker rummaged through a bag before pulling out three different colored armband things. “These are dragonhide wand holders, they'll clip to your wand arm and feel like a second skin. These three have extra protection against summoning and if you lose your wand or someone happens to take it from you it’ll be near instantly brought back to your holder based on magic and your will. No one can take it off you nor physically remove the wand that is inside. Which color would you like?”

All of them caught the light differently and were stunning, but the band that caught her attention first was made from white opalescent scales that had flecks of red and blue throughout. With his help, they fastened it to her forearm and keyed it to her core signature. “Good choice, I’ve had this since my apprenticeship, it was the final holder I made before gaining my mastery. It came from the underbelly of a very old Antipodean Opaleye who, upon the time of her death, willingly gave her body to the reserve to be broken down and reused. The reserve had a resident parslemouth that had explained to her over the years what they used certain parts of a dragon for, and since most of it is medical potions or self-protection gear she felt it was a noble task that costs her nothing other than acceptance of it upon eternal sleep.

“I'm sure you’ve already noticed but magic lays heavy in intent and this includes when something is given/taken Willingly, Unwillingly, or Unknowingly. By giving her blessing, everything harvested after her death had different magical components compared to a counterpart that passed and was unknowingly used for wands and potions. This band has greater innate protections, and will last generations through your family.”

There was just so much information there, Mei looked at Snape and he held eye contact for a second before relenting with a sigh, “I have a book at the castle you can borrow, it’ll be an introduction to rituals for you.”

Grinning Mei thanks him and turns back to Ollivander thanking him too. “Now, before you leave, let me talk about this wand of yours.” He had a dreamier than normal expression. “I’ve never worked with a wand even half that complicated that wanted to go together so badly. I think I spent most of the time fighting for it to slow down enough to make sure the woods and binders were fusing correctly and not rushing their own build.

“Surprisingly Flexible. 15in from tip to tip, but 18in if you measure the curve of the handle. The Walnut, black walnut, and red oaks marbled together to form the base of the full wand. As you see here, the Goblin Silver got marbled into the handle along with the three kinds of wood. At the hilt is possibly the largest sapphire I think I've ever seen chosen for a wand, let alone how many others the wand also chose. It’ll be used similar to if you had a focusing stone you hold in your hand for tricky spells.”

“At the top of the handle is where the Ebony starts. It wraps around creating the lip before twisting itself sporadically up the shaft of the wand to slightly past the midpoint. I believe it's the wand's way of giving itself stability, and reinforcing the sapphires. The small sapphires in the shaft will also work to focus your spells, on the occasion you use a lot of magic like just a minute ago, they will begin to glow.”

Her fingers stroked along the twisting Ebony, she didn't think she’d ever want to part from it. “Thank you so much for making this for me, how much will it cost with all the materials?” She still had a good amount of gallions left but wasn't sure if it would be nearly enough to cover the binders. They seemed like rare and expensive materials.

His chuckle brought her out of her ruminations. “Oh don't be silly young one, I wouldn't put a price on destiny. The fates brought you through my door, so all I ask is that you listen to their call and come back here if you ever need anything.” He waved her off. “Besides, not only did you expand the shop but you filled the wards too. That alone would cost about 20 times more than your wand alone. Do not worry child.” Nodding at the eccentric old man the group got up to leave the shop and head for Madam Malkins.

Opening the door, however, must have broken whatever charm was on the shop and they were thrown headfirst into a frantic crowd that was thrumming with excitement. All around them the stores looked cleaned and fixed up, and the cobble roads looked almost brand new without any first or plants in the cracks. But oddly the signs for the stores still looked old and worn.

“What the heck happened while we were in there?!” Mei yelled over the noise to the 3 adults behind her.

“Well, I think you happened. Apparently, my shop wasn't the only one you fixed.”

“I wonder how big of a radius it affected.” Snape mused.

“I think you’re about to find yourself very popular with all the store owners from now on. When I’m near you I can tell your magic matches that of what filled my wards. I’d bet my wand collection that you filled the rest of theirs as well, and the moment you're in range they'll know it too. Even the building recognizes your magical signature and is pleased to have you here.”

“Let's go get my clothes so I can at least look presentable if anyone approaches me or gets my photo,” She heaved with a sign. Yes, it will be good for business but she's been here less than 24 hours! She still needs to sit down and absorb everything that's been happening.

They get to Madam Malkins just as a group of Aurors gets to the alley to check on the commotion. Seeing them, Snape rushes them through the door into a shop that looks completely different than when they had been there this morning.

“Oh, Pomona! You’re not going to believe what happened!” The short woman ran from the back of the store only to stop short when she felt Hatsumes magic enter and mix with the wards. “H-how? So many shops are nearly brand new, how did you do that?” The woman sounded a little hysteric.

“Oh goodness, let's get you to sit down with a cup of tea,” Pomona said as she rushed towards her friend.

Hatsume sat down next to the seamstress and told her about what just happened over at Ollivanders. “So you're telling me, that with a single flick of a wand, you almost completely revamped not only Diagon alley but most of the surrounding ones too.”

“Wait, what really? We only saw a small bit of the street before coming here, and you're the first person we’ve talked to.”

“Yes, it seems that, while the magic blast cleaned and fixed Diagon, It actually did more the further away it got. Knockturn, Vertic, and Horizontal Alley look incredible apparently. The magic not only fixed the architecture but the clothing and furniture in the hotels and low-income apartments. You somehow single-handedly improved the quality of life for hundreds if not thousands of people by that one wand flick. Oh Merlin I think I’ll close early today and go buy a new bottle of Ogden's finest. You dear, are welcome here free of charge for the rest of your life. It's really too bad wand bondings are a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, I can't wait to see what you do with it.”

Finishing her tea, and patting off the non-existent dust, Madam Malkins walks to the counter and pulls up two relatively small bags. “Here you are! Everything is shrunk at the moment and the charm should last another 5 hours. Plenty of time to get them home and packed up. Be careful out there dear and be prepared for a lot of attention.”

“Thank you so much, Ma’am. By chance, could I change into one of the outfits right now?”

“Oh, course! Let me help you pick something out.”

~~~~~
Now dressed in black loose-fit pants and a black sleeveless shirt with a Haori made from a green, blue and pink material with floating leaves and bowtruckles floating around the base. The patterns moved as she did, it was awesome. They managed to get to the menagerie without another fiasco. The owner hadn’t worked in the shop for a while so they didn't need to worry about another interaction before they left back to the castle.
Despite the sudden improvements to the shop, the attendant was almost entirely focused on the quidditch match that was still airing and hardly spared a wave toward them in acknowledgment.
“Walk around, see if there's anything that catches your attention or connects with you, there's also a store more specifically for owls if you'd prefer that,” Snape told her.
“Are owls the only birds that carry letters?” She asked.
“Oh certainly not!” Sprout piped up. “Any bird in here big enough to carry a letter can deliver.”
As she walks around, nothing catches her attention until she sees the section on Falcons. In her world, the majority of the world's falcon species had already gone extinct and the surviving ones could only be found in remote countries.
They were much quieter than the birds in neighboring cages. Looking regal yet bored on their brass perches. Looking at the names on the tags she chokes out a laugh. “Which one of you is Aldrick?” The falcon with a mostly black head and back with a reddish-brown belly and tan chin strap bobbed his head as if to tell her it was him. Laughing again she yells out for professor Snape who had yet to leave the 5 ft watch radius he had on her and turned out to be right behind her. “Sorry about that, but look! This is Aldrick a Falco Severus ahhahaha. If you changed your shirt color you two would match.” She went on giggling as she thanked the falcon and walked around the cage to continue looking.
Once on the other side, she stopped dead in her tracks as she made eye contact with deep brown irises, she totally understood now what Snape meant by connection. It was as if this 9in tall bird was an extension of her magic and soul. She doesn't know how long they stared at each other, but eventually, the professor cleared his throat. “I take it she is the one? Hm, the tag says unnamed she must still be pretty young. A bit unusual for falcons, but let's get the attendant then head out.”
When the shop expanded, the register counter became a wrap-around bar that spanned the perimeter of a 4ft by 4ft square piece of wall. The 2 approached on a side where they couldn't see the attendant. Mei was confused to still feel her magic acting up, it felt like a weaker version of when she met the falcon's eyes. Her wand in her holster started to very subtly vibrate and the feeling increased the closer they got to the counter.
Slowing to a stop at the wooden bar she looks around with a frown. The Professor's presence behind her is reassuring and she was about to mention what was happening when a rocking sound from a shelf above drew their attention. It happened again before a large blue and yellow object fell off the shelf, and Hatsume barely caught it at the last second. “I-is this an egg?” She whispered. “I’m feeling the same connection as before.” Mei looks up at her mentor to find him stuck in place with shock.
“Try placing it on the counter and walking away.” Not even a foot away, the egg started rolling down the counter. Looking around, they are the only group in the store and the clerk is still focused entirely on the radio. “Get out your Gringotts pouch, they are untraceable,” he whispers near her before going back on guard. Realizing what he meant, she quickly slipped the egg into the bag and nestled it in an empty side pouch. She wondered what it was.
“Let's not mention this to any students or the headmaster for a while, do you understand?” He asked her.
“What about Ms. Sprout?” She could see the woman being someone she confided in or when to vent about anything over a cup of tea. Mei really wants to tell her about the mystery egg.
“How about this, if you are sorted into her house tonight, we can show her. Otherwise, let's wait a week or so but I promise that you can.” Speak of the Witch and she arrives.
“There you two are! Find anything dear?” The woman was weighted down in various bags of dried insects and fruits. Probably for the plants in the greenhouse.
“I did, we were about to get the attendant's help.” Just as she said that they hear a ‘whoop’ resound through the store. And the voice on the radio yelling ‘the cannons have won! In a neck and neck dive between the two seekers….’
“Hello, professors! You three find everything you need?” A kid in his mid-twenties with sandy blond hair asked.
“I think she's found something she needs help with, I'm going to set these by the register and grab a couple more bags. Good to see you Daniel dear.”
“So what caught your attention, miss?” The now-named Daniel asked as he came around the counter.
“THE FALCONS!” Mei yelled as she ran back towards the speedy birds.
Giving a low chuckle of his own that more than a little creeped the employee out, Snape supplied more information for him. “I believe the young Bat Falcon may be her familiar. She’ll need all the gear you offer.”
A look of interest crossed the young man's face as he started to gather supplies in a basket for her. “Huh, that's an odd bird for sure. The trainers that brought her in didn't know what to do with her, despite being so young she forced her way into the last shipment. When they tested her, she passed with higher scores than some of the falcons they had been training for twice as long. I guess she knew she'd need to meet her match sooner than normal.”
As the duo made their way to the cages, they could hear Hatsume through the stacks and isles introducing herself to the bird and explaining that she'll be staying at Hogwarts. When they got to the end of the aisle they couldn't help but stop and watch as she talked to the bird. “Do you know the way there already?” The bird chirps an affirmation which has the girl grinning even wider. “Is there any place you can't find?” The bird of prey looks thoughtful before tipping its head from one side to the other. “Only sometimes you can't?” getting a chirp of agreement in return.
The store employee hadn’t been working at the menagerie long enough to see a familiar bond in action. While the animals are already intelligent, the bonding gives them a huge boost. Stepping forward, “That's a beautiful Falco Rufigularis, I think her legs are a brighter red than you typically see. I’d expect to see some other color changes on her as your bond grows, it’s a side effect of familiar bonds.” At her confused look at the bird, he added, “For example, I can't say for sure, but her black feathers may get a Pink Shimmer while in the light cause your pink hair is a defining symbol for you. If you ever have the chance to meet Hedwig, Harry Potter's owl outside, take a look at her dark flecks. They shimmer the same color as his eyes, it's really very cool.”
They both ignored Snape's grumble of, ‘Potter has a familiar?’ and Daniel showed her the equipment he brought over. He hooked her up with a shoulder and arm guard that goes over wizarding clothes and looks invisible to protect her from their talons. Finally opening the cage, the Falcon flew up to her shoulder and hung out there till they were able to leave the shop and Mei had her fly ahead to Hogwarts.
It was getting close to 2 pm when they finally made it back to the Leaky Cauldron weighted down with bags even despite the shrinking charms. She had almost forgotten about the wards things up until Tom the Barkeep, and apparently, the owner was shaking her hand furiously while giving his appreciation and thanks. Just as she was trying to pull away the tell flash of the camera went off to her left. Having finally had enough of the growing fiasco, Snape grabs Mei’s arm and in a flourish of robes and the bellow of ‘Hogwarts’, they are whisked away by the emerald fire.
