James and Lily had a plan. If Voldemort ever found them, James would take down the aperation wards and aparate to his parent's house, well lily grabbed harry and apparated with James.When Halloween came and Voldemort found them, James switched the plan up. He wanted to make sure Lily was safe, so he had her take down the wards and leave, but when James and harry arrived at his parents after a near-death match with Voldemort, Lily was nowhere to be seen so he drops harry off at Sirius and Remus's house and went back to Godric's hallow where he finds his wife deadwith his wife dead, James is heartbroken, but soon finds out that his true love is still alive, safely hiding with his brother and helping the light
