‘How about you guys do a photo shoot?’

‘Why would we do a photo shoot?’ asked Ginny sceptically, looking at her mother who was in the process of unpacking the baby clothes they had bought.

‘Because they're nice memories. Soon you'll be rid of your baby bump and then you might miss it.’

‘I might think about it. But only because I'm really starting to love my bump,’ Ginny replied, stroking her round baby belly with one hand. ‘Still, I'm more looking forward to when Baby's finally out.’

‘I bet you do. Oh Ginny, just imagine your little baby in this onesie,’ Molly said excitedly as she pulled out another piece of clothing from her bag and held it up.

Ginny smiled. ‘It's really tiny.’ Then she laughed. ‘Somehow I get the feeling you're a lot more excited now than you were three years ago or this year when Fleur was pregnant.’

‘You're my only daughter. Fleur still had her mother to do the being excited. Fleur had both babies in France, which means I didn't see either of them until a few days after they were born.’

Ginny's hand wandered to her stomach again and she looked at her mother hesitantly.

‘What is it, Ginny?’ she asked sceptically. ‘Wait. You're not planning on having your baby in another country too, are you?’

‘No, don't worry Mum,’ Ginny laughed. ‘Rather the opposite. Harry and I have been talking and.... We'd like you to be there for the birth.’ She bit her lip and waited for her mother's reply.

‘Really?’

Ginny nodded. ‘Yes, neither Harry and I have any plan of what's going to happen or how it's all going to go. I think we'd feel more reassured if you were there, if you wanted to be.’

‘Of course I'll be there, honey! You can also kick me out anytime if I annoy you,’ Molly promised her. ‘And I hope you know that if you need help with anything, just let me know and I'll be there for you. Whether it's before or after the birth and also whether it's something to do with the baby or not.’

‘Thanks Mum!’ said Ginny quietly, hugging her mother.

‘If you need any more help around the house too, please let me know. I'll be happy to help with that!’

Even though Ginny and Harry had moved a few weeks ago, they still hadn't had time to completely finish furnishing their house until now. They had bought most of the furniture new, as they planned to live in this house for the rest of their lives and therefore they didn't want to furnish it with the old furniture from the flat, but with things that suited them both one hundred percent.

There was still a lot of decoration missing to make the house look cosy and homely. And the baby room was still completely empty. Because even though Ginny officially no longer had a game and was therefore on maternity leave, she still trained with Josh at least four times a week and used the rest of her free time to meet up with her friends, as there wouldn't be as much time for that soon. She would have time in her remaining free time to take care of decorations, but she had no real motivation for it. Besides, she wanted to do it together with Harry, but he worked a lot and she didn't want to waste the time they had together buying decorations.

Only a week ago, Harry had been on a two-week mission, the last one before the baby came, and she had missed him like never before. Sure, she was used to Harry being away for a few weeks at a time because of his work. But it was different to know that her husband was chasing criminals while she was sitting on the sofa at home with their baby growing inside her.

She incredibly happy when Harry returned home in one piece and unharmed.

‘That would be great, Mum. I haven't really been able to muster any motivation for it lately,’ Ginny sighed and sat back.

Molly beamed. ‘I've got such great ideas. By the stairs, for example, you can make a wall full of pictures. Or even here in the living room. That's why it would be great if you did this photo shoot. Then you'll have beautiful pictures to hang up here.’ Then her smile slipped a little. ‘I know a lot of things are changing in your lives right now and I just want you to be happy and finally feel at home here.’

Ginny was silent for a moment and rested her hand on her stomach. ‘A very wise woman used to say to me that feeling comfortable and at home isn't about the place, it's about the people you're there with. I have Harry and soon our baby here. That already gives me a great sense of security.’ She smiled. ‘And I'm happy, Mum. I know sometimes it seems different and sometimes I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything that's going on, but I don't regret choosing to have the baby. And I can't wait now when they are finally born. Seriously, I wonder how you've put up with being pregnant six times.’

Her mother laughed. ‘All women perceive pregnancy differently. Maybe, should you be pregnant again someday, you'll perceive pregnancy very differently from this one and you might be able to enjoy it a little more,’ Molly replied.

Ginny grinned. ‘Please don't let me ruin this child first, before I have another.’
