Not Again PLEASE

It was two years after the Battle of New York when Harry's life was ripped away. Ok maybe that was dramatic but it was uprooted.

Loki had been living with Harry and Teddy full time since the battle. Teddy absolutely adored Loki. He made grabby hands at him all the time and was almost as clingy with the god as he was with Harry. Teddy talks very little unless it's to Harry or Loki. He likes meeting new people but hates talking to them. Harry has been trying to work on his social skills.

Life had become strangely domestic for Harry and he learned to love it. Other than the occasional mission from Fury, Harry's life was quiet and he loves it. But, like always, his quiet had to be ruined. For the second time Fury disturbed Harry's peaceful life.

It seemed like deja Vu when Harry opened his door late at night to see Fury with two agents behind him on each side. The male agent on the right was soon identified as Agent Coulson and the female on his left Harry recognized as the Agent that led him around and ordered other agents around.

"Hello, Mister Potter, we need you."

"Fury?" Harry asked quietly, squinting at the man.

"Who's at the door Harry?" Loki called out from the house.

Fury raised an eyebrow at the voice but kept his mouth shut. Loki, not receiving an answer from Harry, walked to him with Teddy on his hip. Loki raised an eyebrow at the agents on the deck outside and nudged Harry's back to force him out of his shock.

"Why don't you let the agents in little mage," Loki suggested. Harry nodded and opened the door wider.

The three agents followed the god and wizard to the same sitting room Harry first made a deal with Fury in. Getting a closer look at Fury, Harry realized he was injured, a bruise surrounded his good eye and a cut underneath his eyepatch. Harry assumed that there were more injuries hidden underneath his leather coat. He casted a quick medical scan on the director and nodded looking at the injuries that appeared and summoned the necessary potions. When Harry cast healing charms on the man, he gasped as he was suddenly mostly healed. Harry slid the potions over to the man for what he could not heal with magic. Fury hesitantly drank the potions and gagged from the taste.

"They don't taste very good but they get the job done," Harry commented. Fury nodded as he felt his other injuries healing.

"So what is in dire need of my help this time, Director?" Harry asked.

"The team is splitting apart," Fury started,"Captain's old friend is in town and causing trouble and Ross is trying to force people with powers to obey him and Stark is going along with it."

"Sounds like the team is already split apart," Harry said. Agent Coulson snorted.

"Not if I can do anything about it. I worked too hard to let them fall apart because of this," Fury all but growled.

"And what do you suppose I do about it?" Harry asked.

"Tony and his team are planning on stopping the Captain's at an airport in Germany to apprehend them, as they are now criminals, next week," Fury says and tosses a thick file over to Harry," I want you to intercept the teams and stop them from fighting, we need them together to keep Earth safe."

Harry slowly looks up from the file he's reading and gives the director a deadpan look.

"You want me to play therapist for your merry band of cosplayers?" Harry says slowly.

"If that's how you want to think about it, yes."

"No," Harry deadpans. Fury pulls an uno reverse card.

"Spiderman is planning to make an appearance at the fight."

"What?!" Harry seethed. He told Stark not to put the child in danger! He told Stark that children shouldn't be fighting! So why the hell is the kid going to the fight!? "Oh bloody hell I'm going to kill Stark!" Loki puts a hand on Harry's thigh underneath the table. Harry jerks in surprise but calms down.

"You have a deal as long as I get beat the shit out of Stark," Harry replied calmly.

"Of course," Fury says and nods while standing up. The wizard shakes the director's hand and shows him and his agents the door.

The door closes and Harry turns to Loki.

"I'm so killing Stark," Harry says. Loki wraps a hand around the smaller man's waist and guides him up the stairs to put Teddy down for bed.

"Of course you are, little mage. I look forward to watching you destroy the mortal," Loki's smooth voice making Harry blush.

Teddy had basically slept through most of the meeting but once he was placed on his bed he seemed to barely wake up just as the two adults were moving to leave.

"Puppa," Teddy cried, reaching for Harry.

Harry turned around and practically melted at the sight of his godson pouting on his knees making grabby hands at him. Loki quietly left the room but Harry knew he'd come back as this happened almost every night.

"Yes, Little bit?" Harry asked gently, coming back over to Teddy.

"I wanna story!" Teddy pouted, pulling Harry down beside him.

" Want a," Harry corrected softly.

But Harry went down willingly and fell down beside his godson. Teddy climbed onto his lap and rested his small body on his godfather's chest. Harry summoned a storybook and pulled the covers over them. Loki came back with Asgardian hot chocolate, Teddy's favorite. Teddy, like his father, had a love for anything chocolate. Loki went to settle down at his usual spot but was quickly pulled down onto the bed by a very tired toddler. Loki tried to get up but Teddy kept pulling him back down so Loki sighed and nestled closer to Harry and the child. Teddy put his back to Harry's chest but kept a hand wrapped around two of the god's fingers. Harry blushed at how close the god was but smiled at his little family.

"Once upon a time in a land far, far away…" Harry read an enchanting story about princes and battles and magic that quickly put Teddy back to sleep but not before he gulped down his hot chocolate.

Harry finished the last page and returned the book to its rightful place on the bookshelf before gently setting Teddy down on the bed. Harry and Loki quietly creeped out of the room and into the hall.

Harry smiled at Loki, a light blush still on his cheeks. Loki practically glowed at the sight. Harry gave Loki a quick hug and said goodnight before retreating to his room just to the right of Loki's. Both rooms were across the hall from Teddy's. The two slept in separate rooms because they were only friends after all.

Loki stood there and smiled at Harry's door for a while before walking to his own room. He couldn't wait to see his little mage tear Stark apart next week.
