Say Goodbye to your Heart: A Cat!Draco Compilation

With a little bit of liquid courage, Cat!Draco spent the early afternoon staking out Hermione's flat.

It seemed safe enough.

He jumped down and skulked around Hermione's porch, listening for any noises. Any hint that she was home.

CREAK!

The door swung open. Cat!Draco quickly hid around the wraparound porch and peeked over the side of the house.

Cat!Draco chanted, stretching toward the sky. "Amato Animo Animato Animagus!"

He scrambled to transform back into his human form, Transfiguring a couple of leaves into a pair of green shorts and shirt.

It was fucking Potter!

Harry locked the door, turning around to find a livid Draco in loose, ill-fitting clothes. Quite a departure from their Hogwarts days.

"What are you doing here, Potter?"

Harry schooled his shock face into a sneer. "What are you doing here, Malfoy?!" 

"I came by to see Granger."

"Well, she doesn't want to see you." Harry crossed his arms in front of his chest, trying to puff it up.

"Cute. Did she tell you that?"

Harry attempted to loom intimidatingly, but it was difficult when he was half a head shorter than Draco. "I don't know what went on between you two. But you'd do well to leave her alone. She doesn't need you in her life, mucking things up."

"Let her tell me that to my face. Not her dim-witted bodyguard who only knows two spells."

Harry palmed his chest, trying to keep Draco back. "She's not here." 

"Bollocks." Draco pushed past him into the foyer. "Why the fuck are you here then?" 

"Really, mate."

"Not your mate!" He called back.

"She wouldn't leave Lynx Junior alone." Draco looked around the empty townhouse. Indeed, it was quiet, and Hermione was nowhere to be found.

Exasperated, Harry pushed back his unruly hair. "That's correct. Lynx is living with me at the moment."

Draco returned to the door threshold, eyes a little wild. "What do you mean? She just left him with you?! She doesn't want him?!" He couldn't help the way his voice cracked.

Harry rolled his eyes. It took everything in Draco not to flick his frames. 

"She said she needed some time, and she couldn't bring Lynx where she was going. She brought him over a couple of weeks ago."

"Do you know where?" Draco asked, ever hopeful.

"She didn't tell me where she went, but said she would be back."  

"Oh." He deflated. "Did she mention anything about a letter or anything?"

Harry's face twisted into a confused expression. "What letter?" 

"Never mind. Why the fuck are you here?" 

"I'm here to pick up her mail and water her plants. In case you didn't know ... she has a lot of them." Harry gestured around him.

Draco grunted his agreement.

Harry narrowed his eyes. "Why are you here?" 

Draco hesitated. "I wanted to tell her in person ... that I'm no longer working at the apothecary. I signed things over to Theo. So if she wants to talk or—could you give her this address?" He handed Harry a card.

Harry turned the card over in his hands and smirked, "This isn't Wiltshire."

"No shite."  Draco deliberately bumped Harry's shoulder on his way out.

With mouth agape, Harry watched as Draco morphed, shrinking down into cat!form, leaving his green clothes in a wrinkled heap on the ground. His prideful tail swished and flicked, giving Harry a clear view of his furry buttocks.

Before Cat!Draco plodded his way home, he gave Harry a devastating glare.
