We got this
Pov. Regulus
Regulus had barley slept the last two nights. He had always been with James.
But he felt better. A lot actually.
He hadn’t suspected that telling James would help him so much. But it did.
They hadn’t really been talking about it though. Last night, when they had met, they had spent most of the time crying. Both of them. Regulus could imagine how difficult this had to be for James. It was just another secret that he had to keep from his friends. Regulus felt guilty that James had to suffer in order for him to be alright. It wasn’t fair. But James didn’t complain. He wasn’t going to either. He would surely take all of Regulus‘ pain without hesitation if he could.
It made Regulus feel bad but so loved.
He had never felt so loved like he did right now. It could be so nice. If there were other circumstances.
But maybe it were exactly those circumstances that made him feel this way.
James loved him even under these conditions. That was more than Regulus could ever ask for.

At breakfast Regulus sat with his friends. He had to admit that he liked their company.
Pandora was sitting with them. She didn’t had any friends in her house.
Apparently people thought that she was weird. Well Regulus though that people in general were weird so he really couldn’t mind that any less. Pandora was nice so they were friends.
Right now she was talking to Evan. They spoke about some homework that they hadn’t done yet. They would probably copy Regulus‘ but he was fine with that. He had better things to worry about.
Regulus rarely talked during breakfast or any other meal so no one was bothering him.
He sat in the same spot as always. The one where he was able to look at the Griffindor table. He liked to watch James. It gave him energy for the day to see him smile.
But today James wasn’t smiling at all. He looked stressed.
Sirius wasn’t talking a lot either.
Maybe they had a fight. But James and Sirius never did that. It just wasn’t their thing. So if they really did it must have been about something bad.
He would have to wait till later to ask James.

The day had been annoying. Everything about it.
Regulus couldn’t wait to meet James. He had been sitting at the astronomy tower since dinner.
Luckily James showed up pretty early. He was smiling kind of nervously.
Something was wrong. Regulus could tell immediately.
“What happened?” That was the first thing he said to James as he got up from the floor to hug James.
“Well hello to you too,” James laughed quietly.
“Yeah hello. Now what’s wrong?”
“How do you want knew that something is wrong?” James mumbled but the tone of his voice was way too obvious.
“James, you don’t have to be a genius to see that.” Regulus crossed his arms. James never wanted to talk about his problems. That made it kind of difficult in many situations. He didn’t want to bother people even though that would sometimes be better.
“Okay you’re right. I did something and I really messed up and I’m so sorry,” James said very fast. Regulus nearly didn’t understand him.
“Okay,” Regulus slowly answered. He had an even worse feeling now. What on earth did James mess up?
“So last night when I went back to my dorm Sirius was awake. And he just confronted me what I was doing. And he would stop and then I told him I was seeing someone but he doesn’t know who. And now he wants me to tell him and I said I would speak to them about it. So here I am telling you and I’m so sorry.”
After he had said that James broke down in tears. Regulus’ brain needed a few seconds to progress all these information. But when he did that first thing did was sitting down next to James and hugging him.
It was bad but James was so sad it hurt Regulus’ heart.
“We got this, James. I promise,” Regulus whispered into James’ ear.
Regulus wasn’t sure if they got this but they would have to try.
