The Black brothers are running away

It was 6:45am by now, Regulus was asleep but Sirius couldn't sleep anymore. He had already lifted the silencing spell from yesterday.
Now that he knew that both of them are gay he couldn't afford to stay in this house. Sirius needed to leave and there was no chance that he'd leave his brother.

Sirius was writing a letter to James, asking if he and Regulus could come over within the next two weeks.

Dear Prongs,
Would it be possible for Reggie and me to visit at some point during the next 14 days? I can't write Moony from here and Wormtail is on holiday in France. I miss my friends.
I would be glad about a quick answer.
Yours S.O. Black (Pedfoot)

Sirius sent his owl on its way, hoping for an answer coming soon.

At 9am Walburga knocked on Sirius' door aggressively, "Sirius, wake up!" she screamed.
"Why is she so loud?" He thought.
Sirius walked over to his brother, who was still sleeping, shaking him carefully, "Reggie, wake up."

In the background Pedfoot could hear his mother pounding on Regulus' door, yelling "Wake up Regulus!"

"What is it?" Reg yawned.
"It's morning Reggie, mother is yelling for us." Sirius informed.
"Oh shit!" Reg jumped up from the bed.
Sirius quickly cast a muffling spell on his brother, quietly opened the door and let Regulus sneak to his own room.

"It's 10:13am, you're late." Walburga scolded.
"I'm sorry mother." Sirius apologized.
"You should be ashamed Sirius." Orion ordered.
"I am." Sirius commented.
Walburga gasped and then slapped her son across the face. Regulus flinched.
"Don't talk back to me!" She accused.
"Sorry."

Towards noon an owl arrived for Sirius. It was a letter from James.

Dear Pedfoot (S.O. Black),
I have nothing to do this summer. My mother plans on redecorating some parts of the house but we won't be going in holiday this year (thank Merlin). I understand you miss us, I hope your mother isn't too hard on you and Reg. Come visit me anytime you can/want.
Yours dearly Prongs (James)

"Yes" Sirius whispered to himself, tears forming in his eyes.
His happiness was cut short when his mother once again called for both of the Black boys.

"I expect both of you, especially you Sirius, to be on your best behavior tonight. We will have a few pureblood families over." Walburga explained.
"Yes mother." The two young men replied.
"Meet me in my room." Sirius muttered to Regulus.

"Siri? You wanted to meet me?" Reg carefully questioned.
"Come in." Pedfoot invited.
"What did you want?" Reggie asked.
"We're running, tonight." Sirius stated.
"More detail please?" Regulus stammered.
"Tonight is another gathering. Walburga'll want us in bed by 9-10pm, maybe later. We pack now, and leave the minute it seems safe, she doesn't check on us anyway." He explained.
"What do I need to pack?" Reg inquired.
"Clothes, Pyjamas, Books, some special hygiene stuff? The basics like food will be provided, as far as I know. Definitely anything you'll need for Hogwarts. Comfort items if you have those, because we won't be coming back until these awful people are dead." Sirius listed.
"Ok, I'll start." Regulus said.

"Ah Mrs Lestrange." Walburga smiled.
"Walburga Black, my dear." Mrs. Lestrange greeted.
"Hello, oh I haven't seen you since Bellatrix and Rodolphus' wedding." Mrs. Black replied.
"How have you been?" Mrs. Lestrange questioned.
"I have been great! Have I introduced you to my son Regulus yet?" She smiled.
"No I don't think so, Regulus is the younger brother I assume?"
"Yes."

Sirius felt so stupid standing next to his mother. They had to stay close to Walburga, she had ordered them to.
The rest of the conversations his parents had were simply ignored or tuned out by Sirius. Every once in a while he smiled or shook someone's hand politely.
Sirius was quite the rebellious kid but he on one hand didn't want to somehow screw up their escape mission, on the other hand he was plainly scared of what his mother could and would potentially do.
He was simply waiting for the night to end.

When his mother ended the gathering and instructed the brother to go to bed quickly and not leave their rooms after 10:30pm "by any means", Sirius shot his brother one more tip "Put on something comfortable, it might not seem like it but it is important."
Regulus nodded.

They met up in Sirius' room right after 10:30.
"Bags packed?" Sirius whispered.
Reg nodded.
"You ready?" He asked.
Regulus looked somewhat guilty but nodded none the less.
"Anything we might still need? Anything specific?" Padfoot specified.
"I took some ingredients to some potions that might be important." Reggie replied.
"Alright then, let's go." Sirius stated, shrinking his and his brother's luggage and putting that in a backpack, in which he'd packed some important things like food, water and a mix of wizard and muggle money.

He took his brother by the hand, with the other gripping his wand. Sirius cast a strong locking and protection spell on his window. They then left Sirius' room as he cast the same spell on the door of it.

The brothers went into Regulus' room, again casting the spell on his door before climbing out the window and casting the spell on it as well.

From then on they ran and ran, past large houses and parks until Regulus no longer recognized anything.
"Sirius, where are we?" He asked, gripping his brother's hand tight.
"I have no idea, Reg." Sirius replied.
