On the way home...

"Jamie?" Lily groggily asked.
"Huh?" He replied, ignoring a giggle from Pete.
"Could you hand me a book, please?" She requested.
"Anything specific?" James questioned.
"Not really, just give me the first you can grab." She answered.
"Alright, hun." He began searching and soon pulled out a book with a woman, most likely a sorceress or a witch, dressed in a green dress and coat.
"Thanks" she smiles.
"Looks like fantasy?" He assumed.
"Yeah, " Lily moved around a bit to get more comfortable, "it's about this woman getting trapped in a different dimension. It sounded nice so I bought it."
"That does sound interesting..." James agreed, "have fun."
"I will" she blew him a kiss.

"Sirius?" Remus gently shook his boyfriend, "Sirius darling, wake up."
"What?" The black haired boy mumbled.
"Padfoot, we're almost at king's cross..." Remus told him.
"How long 'till we're there?" He asked propping himself up.
"About 15 minutes, dear." Moony answered.
"Alright" Sirius sighed.
He sat up, trying to remain awake.
"Reggie!" Sirius called out.

"Hold on Sirius, I'll wake him. You just stay awake." James assured.
"If you say so." Padfoot agreed, turning towards Remus.

"Reg" James whispered, "Regulus, you gotta get up now."
"Let me sleep, I won't get to for the next 2 months." Regulus complained.
"I know, I'm sorry", Prongs acknowledged, "but we're in London in give or take 15 minutes."
Reg made a groaning sound before getting up from his seat and taking one of the bags stored above them.

"Sirius?" Regulus looked at his brother, who understood immediately.
"Hold on I'm coming." He said, giving Moony a kiss and then leaving the compartment with his brother.

"That's so wierd..." Peter commented, "I do kind of get why they're doing that but it just seems so strange."
"I do have to agree. I know they probably just want to be able to talk in private but I hope they know that they're safe to talk freely around us." Lily added.
"Everyone's got wierd habits, I guess. I don't judge them." James acknowledged.

At the same time the Black brothers were outside the compartment, in one of the washrooms.
"You brought the suits?" Sirius questioned.
"Of course, who do you take me for?" Regulus acted offended, giving the bag to Sirius.
"Sorry, which one's mine?" He asked confusedly.
"The larger one." Reg replied.
"I'm pretty sure both of them are exactly the same..." Sirius commented.
"Merlin, Siri! Just take one." He groaned.
"Anything we need to know when arriving?" Padfoot inquired.
"The driver will get us, as always..." Regulus started, "mother has invited guests over, so we have to be as presentable as possible."
"I hate when she does that. Celebrate the start of the summer and show of the grades of your overly stressed children." Siri complained.
"I know, I know. We also have to brush your hair." Reg stated, receiving an annoyed look from his brother, "You know mother hates when your hair is unkempt."
"I know she hates it, that's why I don't brush my hair. I do at Hogwarts, at least every week. And I would if my boyfriend asked me to, but she is not my boyfriend." Sirius asserted.
"Will you ever tell mother?" Regulus' tone suddenly changed.
"About what..?" Sirius hesitated.
"About...you...being gay?" Reg cleared up.
"No! Never." Padfoot laughed, "that devil of a parent would murder me...or worse torture me without a chance of freedom or happiness."
"Oh, yeah you're- you're right, sorry."
"Why?" Sirius wanted to know.
"It's just...nevermind. It's nothing, not important." Reg deflected.

"Are- are you gay, Regulus?" Sirius questioned.
Regulus just looked away from his brother.
"It's fine, you can tell me. I won't judge or tell on you." He assured.
"I could be...I don't know." Regulus admitted, "it's not like you...I like all?"
"It's fine, maybe you're bi- or pansexual?" Sirius smiled.

After a few minutes the boys came back into the compartment, both wearing nice suits with brushed hair.
"Looking good, Reggie." Lily smiled.
"Thank you." Reg smiled back.
"I'm not getting any compliments?" Sirius teased, looking at Remus.
"Yes, yes. You look very handsome in your suit." Remus obliged.

A while later Lily could see the train station from her window. She didn't want to interrupt her friends having fun, but she had to.
"Hey guys?" She sighed.
"What is it?" Regulus asked, not breaking eye contact with James.
"We're at the station." Lily stated sadly.
"Oh" Sirius remarked, looking his brother in the eyes.
"I'm sorry" she apologized.
"It's not your fault." Reg assured her.
"I promise I'll bring vodka next year, yeah?" Remus suggested.
"Sure" the boy laughed.
"You're positive that you'll be alright?" James questioned looking at Sirius and then at Regulus.
"We'll be fine, I'm going to make sure of that." Sirius asserted.
"Alright. Well, we should pack up and leave." Peter said.

Lily's parents had come to get her from the station, the frowning young woman next to them was probably Petunia, Sirius assumed. He'd heard Lily talk about her.
Remus' mother had come to get him, his father was most likely working. Sirius knew that Remus preferred not to talk about him.
Peter was greeted by his mother, a stern but kind lady. She always looked somewhat intimidating even though Pete insisted she was just a bit strict and overall very nice.
James always got the Jackpot. His parents both came to get him this time, sometimes his father worked. Sirius thought they were the nicest people on the planet. They always treated James well, they'd never hate him for being gay and most importantly they would never even think of using unforgivable curses on their child.
The parents of Sirius and Regulus never came to get them. They would just send a driver to get them home or the brothers were supposed to get home on their own. Walburga knew though that if she let them come home on their own today, they would be home towards 2 or 3am and she couldn't have that today.

Sirius walked straight to Euphemia and Fleamont Potter, dragging his younger brother with him.
"Sirius dear!" Euphemia squealed.
"Ma!" Sirius smiled.
"Hello my dear, how have you been?" She asked.
"Ah, I've been fine." He replied, "I brought my brother with me."
"Oh, is that Regulus?" She smiled at Reg.
"Yes ma'am." Regulus answered, standing up straight and shaking her hand.
"It's wonderful to meet you darling. I've heard so much about you." Euphemia revealed, smirking at James, who looked away almost immediately.
"Honey, I don't think you need to embarrass our son at the train station." Fleamont interjected.
"Oh, right. Sirius, will you be visiting during the holiday?" She inquired, turning back towards Sirius.
"I hope, I'm not sure we'll be able to, but I'm sure I'll work something out." Pedfoot assured.

"Siri, we need to go. The driver'll leave without us." Regulus hastily whispered.
"He won't, Walburga won't let us not attend her stupid gathering." He observed.

"Erm, so...will you be bringing your brother if you manage to visit?" Euphemia asked.
"I plan on doing that." Sirius replied truthfully.
"Oh wonderful, James will be so happy." She reacted.

"Siri!" Regulus whined.
"Yes yes, I know." Pedfoot assured.

"Ma, I'm sorry but we have to go now. My mother won't be happy if we're late." Siri excused.
"It's quite alright dear. Have nice holidays, yea?" She smiled.
"Bye"

Sirius and Regulus were walking out of the train station, trying to find the stupid fancy car their mother sent for them.
"Can I ask you something Siri?" Reg asked.
"Huh?"
"Why did you call Mrs. Potter "Ma", aren't you supposed to call mother that?" He inquired.
"Firstly because she's more a mom to me than our mother is and secondly if I called mother "Ma" she would cut off my limbs." Pedfoot replied.
"You're right, sorry." Regulus acknowledged.

They soon found the car, it was some very expensive old-timer. It did look nice but Sirius couldn't seem to like anything to do with his parents.
The driver took them home, where they were told to just put their stuff into their rooms and come down for the guests quickly.
The party was boring and full of pretentious rich purebloods. But thankfully the night went by at an ok pace.
