Gay Awakening
They were happy...
Regulus was so jealous, he wanted happiness. It just wasn't fair. He got along so well with Lily and Remus why could they have happiness and friends that cared about them. He had Sirius and maybe Barty.
He sometimes participated in their study group, even though he was one year below them. He always needed a good distraction, so he studied a lot. Ever since lily and James started dating, he'd been around and had joined their little study group.
Sirius had been to invested in finding out wether Remus was gay or not that he'd pretty much leave Regulus be.
One particular study session in the past, when they still had school, James was annoying Regulus more than usual. He was being whiny and unbearable the whole time. He needed to get out of there. So he decided to kill two birds with one stone.
"Lupin?" He asked
"Yeah" Remus said not looking up from his books
"Could I have a word with you?" Regulus inquired
"Sure" he was now looking at Regulus, he seemed puzzled as to what Regulus wanted.
"Come with me"
"So what's up?" Remus questioned
"I-...Are you gay?" Regulus begged
"What...makes you ask that?"
"Are you? I think you are.'
"I-"
Remus was breathing unsteadily and his breathing quickened by the second.
"I can't answer that" Remus panicked
"Please answer it"
"Did Sirius put you up to this?" Remus seemed colder than usual
"No, why would he" Regulus was now panicking as well
"I don't know,ok? He'd been acting all wierd for the last few weeks. I'm worried, did I do something?" Remus was rambling
"I don't know" Regulus said with a shaky voice
Remus was immediately brought back.
"I'm sorry, I need help" Regulus whimpered
"What's up with you?" Remus was now very concerned

"I think I might be gay, but my mother. Our parents would never allow it. They'd force me they'd kill me." Regulus explained
"Hey, it's alright to be gay. But shouldn't you be talking with your brother about that?" Remus asked
"He has too much to worry about at the moment. I thought because you see things factually and objectively I'd talk to you?"
"Okay, this is going to be fine. Look Reg, Lily's Pan so you can ask her. I'm not sure about my sexuality anyway, so I'm no help." Remus advised
"Alright, but can you please not tell my brother about this?" Regulus begged
"Yeah"
"Ok,thanks"

Sirius was feeling awful because he was like 98.9% sure that Remus was gay or bi or something like that, but he didn't know if he'd like him anyway. They were friends not lovers.
Regulus was feeling similar, he'd talked to Lily and they've actually become good friends. She told him all about how she found out about her sexuality and how she came to terms with it. Regulus was very thankful for her polite answers to his questions.
But something was still up and the longer he searched for the answer the less he actually wanted to know. He came to the conclusion that he was bisexual. A nice term, he was pleasantly surprised by how nice it felt to have this label. And he realized...he was in love.
In love with his brothers best mate and his best friends boyfriend. This was a secret he'd rather die with than ever tell anyone.
James and Lily were happy in their relationship but they felt like something was missing but they just thought that that weren't used to not having school.

"Why did we go out just to sit in a library again?" James was still very whiny
"I love you James but you have to study for the next year" Lily soothed
"I don't know how you do it Lily, with such an annoying husband" Regulus joked
"Yes I know, but when you've been married as long as we have you just get used to it" she continued
They laughed but somewhere on the inside Regulus cried. He couldn't bare seeing them happy but she was his best friend, the only person who really knew him. Even his brother didn't know the true him anymore.

"Finally!" James yelled as soon as they left the library
He was quite happy that they didn't spend much more time in there. James and Sirius wanted to go to a small shop just around the corner. It was a shop with small trinkets and jewelry, all for affordable prices.
James immediately dashed for some corner taking Lily with him and Sirius dragged Remus to an aisle of jewelry. Regulus felt so very uncomfortable but decided to just distract himself with some bookmarks and little things to put on his key. He'd always liked those.
How nice. One was in the form of a dragon, another in the form of a book and yet another was a heart.
Suddenly a hand was placed on Regulus' shoulder, he jumped, turned his head around and saw that it was just James. He held out something it seemed to be a part of a heart. It belonged to one of those necklaces where it splits in the middle but this one split into three pieces.
"One for Lily, one for me and one for you" James explained
"But why?"
"Because you're like one of her very best friends by now. And you belong to our little marauder family now." James laughed
"Thanks"
Regulus felt like crying but not because he was sad, he was happy. Finally at home. And in love with his best friends boyfriend who just gifted him a part of a heart necklace. This was bad.
How long would he be able to hide it?
