Percy makes friends or A friends
Percy arrived back after the infirmary and the week went by as normal, he did his schoolwork and told his teachers about his dyslexia and ADHD, they weren’t assholes about it and actually made some accommodations, Quirrell looked perplexed but nodded, Quirrel was actually the only one who made sure his assignments were always in Greek.
On Saturday Percy told Annabeth he would be going to the black lake, He walked out and Theo was following him, He looked back and slowed his pace, “I’m going to the black lake” he told him and Theo shrugged “I’m bored and you told me you would show me gobbledook” Percy nodded now knowing he couldn't swim but maybe he needed to make friends, Grover was after all searching for Pan and he probably needed more friends.
Once they arrived Percy sat at the water's edge listening to the water splash, Theo sat next to him a little wary of the water. Percy was tired from school and his dyslexia and ADHD were not making it any easier, so he said “It's fine if you’re worried about the animals they won't come here”
“Potter I don’t think you can confirm that” Percy got up and smiled “Call me Percy, if we are going to be friends call me by my name” he walked to Theo and sat beside him. Theo smiled, not noticeable but a small smirk “Call me Theo then” Percy nodded and looked out, It looked like it was going to storm soon.
He wondered if the wards of Hogwarts prevented storms. He looked at Theo and saw his face was impassive but calm the sea made everyone happier, Percy then impulsively said “Want to take a swim”
He looked at Theo with a wide smile while Theo looked at him like he grew a second head, Percy smiled and pulled him up “C'mon it’d be fun”
“Percy no, It's freezing in that water and we are not even dressed too” Percy cackled and took off his robes leaving his pants and undershirt on “It is always time for a swim” he ran and jumped into the water and heard Theo shout, He said hello to a few mermaids and jumped up letting his hair get wet, not his clothes though, he smiled at Theo and swam out his clothes dry, he grabbed his wand and pretended to utter a drying spell When in reality he just dried off. He walked inside cleaning up the mud he left behind him, He saw Mr. Filich's face and smiled.
The rest of the day was going by normally, Percy was making friends with Theo, and Annabeth was at the library today wanting to study, Percy would join if the libraries were made for ADHD kids like him, instead, he decided to study in his room with Theo.
Percy learned that while Theo liked to read books, He had more fun studying with other people and making a game out of it. Theo didnt tell him exactly but the way that his face lit up when Percy said “Good job!” gave it away.
Theo was teaching Percy about the Wixen government and their laws when a prefect walked into the common room.
“Potter, Nott, Professor Snape told me to give you these.” He handed them each a paper, Percy looked at his paper and read, ‘Please meet me in my office after dinner’
He thought, Did he do anything bad, was the swim he took in the lake against the rules? He looked to see Theo smiling.
“Dude why are you smiling we have to meet Professor Snape soon”
Theo looked back at him “It’s fine Percy, He’s our head of the house and I heard from the older years he does this to get to know anything about us and to check in with us, anyways what day did you get”
Percy showed his card and heard a wince “That’s bad luck, no wonder you were worried I got tomorrow at 3:30.”
Percy nodded resolving that while Snape may know he’s a demigod he doesn't know about what being a demigod includes. Maybe that's why he’s asking, Percy hoped not he didn't want to explain Everything.

After dinner, Percy let Annabeth know where he was heading and then went off to Professor Snape’s office he didn’t care so much about this meeting but he didn’t want to anger the person with magic, even if Percy could probably take him.
He walked into the office and Snape was sitting down with a sneer he sat down in the chair and started fidgeting. He wasn’t afraid of adults but school officials always ended up yelling at him.
“In case you haven’t heard every year I meet up with the firsties and ask them a few questions which they will have to answer truthfully, I will know if you don’t. You have a few extra questions due to your Circumstances.”
Percy nodded and sighed. He knew it!
“Firstly, the normal questions. How is your home life?” Percy reeled back in shock, he could hear the annoyance in having asked that and he was annoyed too, His mother was the best thing in this world and Gabe didn’t deserve her. He was sure Snape was annoyed too but 'it was procedure'.
“It’s all fine? My mom is the best thing in this world”
Snape’s eye twitched. “This room has wards to tell me when someone lies and while you weren’t lying, It stated a half-truth so let me restate. How is your family life?”
“It’s er fine if you discount my Godly family that is a clusterfuck” Snape’s eye didn’t twitch this time and he nodded “Language. what's going on there?”
“My family is Greek Gods and my uncle is Zeus. What do you think?” he said barely holding back the therapist comment.
Snape nodded “I hate asking these questions as much as you hate answering them. Next, Have you ever been hit?” Percy frowned he couldn’t lie but he didn’t feel like telling him about Gabe.
“Yeah, I have to train I’ve gotten hit a few times”
Snape's eye twitched and Percy knew his excuse didn’t work, he sank further into his chair and sighed “I know I know Half truth”
Snape stood up straighter “Continue,” He said in his weird drawl.
“Well I had this old stepfather, and before you ask my mother was with him due to his stench it covered up the smell of demigod on me” Snape nodded something flashing on his face before soon it was gone.
“And this stepfather, Did he hit you? And where is he now?” Percy smirked “Firstly yes and I'm not elaborating, Secondly-” Percy pulled out an mp3 player which weirdly worked with magic and put on a song.
“I might kill my Ex, not the best idea!” The song started singing and Snape's eyes widened comically.
“Once I was able to fight the things myself Mom decided just to get rid of him one way or another!” He carefully avoided the word monsters which wouldn’t have done well.
He snickered at his teacher's face and decided to have mercy on the teacher “She didn’t she almost did but then in the end just divorced him and kicked him to the curb” They were lucky she won all of his money so she could go to school, Maybe She could use his money he thought perking up.
“OK next question, How is your average work in school”
“Not so great however I’m blaming the teachers, I have ADHD and Dyslexia and none of them accommodated the highest I’ve gotten is a C.” However he is amazing at battle tactics. Snape hummed and then put down the papers “Now about the extra questions. Who is your father?”
“Posideon? You know this” Snape hummed not giving Percy any answers.
“Anything I should look out for?” Percy grimaced “Demigods attract certain monsters so I can’t be alone in the Forbidden Forest lest a Monster decides I’d be the perfect Dinner.”
Snape looked up at him warily but nodded “You're free to go.” Percy still sensed Snape’s Distaste for him so he left.
Percy returned to the Common room and saw everyone crowded around a poster he pushed through and after reading the sign he felt dread for the coming weeks
