first day of classes
The next morning Percy woke up at 6:30 like he normally does, He got up and got dressed in his new robes, Which were very uncomfortable and hot, He had to have a Button up shirt And a tie which he spent around 10 minutes on before it ended up looking wonky, Then a vest sweater, Which wasn't itchy he just hated, and then robes which he would have a hard time getting used to.
Once he got dressed it was 6:50 and Annabeth was already out there with a book, She looked up at him, saw his tie, and sighed. “Seaweed brain… What Is wrong with that tie?”
“Hey wise girl why dont you try to put on a tie for the first time with your father being Gone for your entire life” She rolled her eyes but stood up and fixed his tie, And off they went to the Great Hall,
They sat down and then realized that they were some of the only people at the Slytherin table, Percy looked around and saw Ravenclaw table was almost full, Gryffindor had even fewer but the Twins were there, and Hufflepuff had around the same as Slytherin.
After a little while of eating, more people started to filter in and soon enough Draco, Pansy, Ron, and Hermione, Theo were all sitting near each other talking. and then their Head of House, Professor Snape, Came walking by giving their Schedules making Percy wince it was in English. Percy got out his wand and used the spell to translate it into Greek, Once it turned into the correct language (Greek) he looked over and saw Annabeth did the same.
Suddenly Percy felt someone watching him he looked around and saw that the twins were looking at him, no mortal would've noticed but it was very noticeable to a half-blood, he nodded at them and watched as their eyes went wide and they slipped out of their seats making an excuse to their friends and walking out of the great hall.
Percy looked at Annabeth with a smile and said “I'm going to go collect my stuff that I need today from the dorms I'll meet you at Transfiguration” She nodded Warily.
Percy got up and started walking out, When he left the great hall the twins were already out there waiting, Percy smiled mischievously and said “I have a room we can go to, where we can start planning pranks” Percy's eyes held a mischievous glint in them, and then the twins knew that this kid would provide many pranks worthy of the marauders.
Once they were out of the great hall Percy pulled out a familiar piece of parchment, Fred checked his pocket to see if he still had the Marauder's map, Once he realized he did he nodded to George, Then Percy spoke not English but a language that sounded similar to greek?
Percy spoke in Greek opening the map “κακομεταχειρισμένα” he read the cover which was in English but surprisingly he could read it just fine, ‘Prongs, Sally, and Perseus proudly present, The Sea Map.’ Percy laughed thinking ‘Thanks Dad’ he looked back up at the twins seeing their mouths wide open, “Why do you two look like fish?” Percy asked,
That seemed to get them out of their trance “” You have a marauders map”” they said at the same time. “Who?” Percy asked then they brought out a piece of parchment that looked like his they brought their wands up to the map and said “I solemnly swear we are up to no good” and words started to appear, it was like his except theirs said different words but the word Prongs seem to be the only one common name.
Percy then realized something, His Dad made one in 4th year, These kids have the old map which was made by a god. ‘Shit’ he thought ‘How am I going to hide this’ he then quickly found somewhere on his map, The room of requirement he then walked quickly cursing in Greek,
The one time Annabeth doesn't come with him and something like this happens he looks behind him and sees the twins following, He arrives at the room of requirement and it opens up surprising the twins. They apparently did not have that room on their map, He walked in to find a workbench and chairs ‘A planning room, perfect’ he thought and sat down.
After he made up an excuse about why he had it, (He checked the family vaults and it was there again told them That he was Perseus and Sally was the one who adopted him, Thinking that would be better than saying that Lily Potter was alive), they decided to plan some new pranks, Percy had a lot of decent ideas, He even made sure they were Harmless and funny, Maybe a little annoying like dying someone's hair blue or red but not permanent or semi-permanent but dye that goes out in an hour or two Or making it where your hair won’t settle correctly.
After The trio left the already had the plan to meet up every Wednesday and Percy had to go to Transfiguration, once Percy arrived he sat next to Annabeth and noticed there were no teachers just a cat he looked at the cat closer and realized that this cat looking like it was inspecting everyone, It had rings around its eyes looking like glasses and that's when Percy realized he smiled and waved “Hey Professor Mcgonogal” he saw a few confusing looks and smiled even wider when the cat jumped down from its desk and turned into their teacher.
“Good job Mr.Potter 20 points to Slytherin for noticing” She looked impressed and then turned the desk into a pig, Percy looked at it and smiled, Magic was cool, Then for the next half-hour they were told about transfiguration, and how it was hard magic, But after the lecture she had then turn a matchstick into a needle which was in Percy's opinion super simple.
After translating the spell into Greek he said the words and visualized the needle while also feeling the magic go into his wand, He looked down at his matchst- Needle, It worked, He looked over at Annabeth and smiled she got it too. They both waited for the class to be over, And they even attempted to turn another one into a needle, Wandlessly, So they didn’t have to depend on wands, after the first try, they both did it again.
After Transfiguration class was charms, where the professor squeaked and fell off his chair after hearing his name, Then they had History of Magic, Percy had high hopes considering the professor was a ghost, but within the first five minutes, he realized this class would be a lot of self-study.
Soon enough potions came around and Percy was actually excited about potions, Camp half-blood taught him Duelling, Spells, and monster fighting, but the one thing that camp couldn't teach was Potions and hopefully, the potions work on Demigod.
Once the teacher arrived which he recognized as Professor Snape, took attendance and stopped at Percy’s name and said “Ah our little celebrity” where Percy had to hold in a laugh at the similarities to what Mr.D said except one is a god and one is a mortal.
When Professor Snape was done with attendance he looked at Percy and said “What is the powdered root of asphodel and wormwood used to make” Percy thought for a moment before responding “The drought of the living dead which is a sleeping potion” Professor Snape nodded and moved on.
During potions, Percy noticed that on the board there was a side panel in Greek with the same instructions on the board, it was different than the book but Percy didn't mind, he just followed the ones Snape wrote.
He turned the fire off and put the porcupine quills in, and his potion turned purple, Percy looked behind him, Neville was adding his porcupine quills without the fire, It was only due to training and Percy being a Demi-god that allowed him to grab Neville out of the way and block him before the cauldron exploded.
He looked down at Neville and kneeled, “Are you ok?” he asked at the same time Snape came over “YOU IDIOT BO-” he paused when Percy looked at him, he looked around to see horrified faces.
“Mr.Potter, do you really feel nothing!” Snape said sounding horrified
Percy shook his head, he didn't feel anything, what was wrong with everyone? Annabeth walked over and gave him a mirror he looked at himself and saw big boils that looked like they were boiling.
He hummed and Annabeth just sighed and muttered “This is why no one noticed when you got poisoned, seaweed brain” No one heard except Percy and Snape who made a face.
Percy nodded, the same time snape told them to head up to the infirmary.
