Percy has been at camp for 3 months after giving Zeus his master bolt back. He has continued his lessons as normal, His father has talked to him more recently (using the water), and he sends letters to his mom, He even got a cat as an early birthday present from Annabeth. He named her Ashes, she was grey like the ash after a campfire.
Percy woke up with a start, it was his 11th birthday he got up and got dressed quickly, and as it was his birthday he got to skip chores and classes. He walked outside the cabin to see Annabeth, Grover had been away looking for Pan. He waved as his cat walked out and jumped on Percy's shoulder. Percy and Annabeth went inside his cabin, she wanted to gift him something but apparently, it could only be given in his cabin.
She grabbed a coin and said oddly familiar words and then Grover showed up on one of his rainbow decorations that had already been there. “
Gover!” Percy yelled stumbling over to the decoration and grabbing it “Grover! By gods how are you!” Percy could hear Annabeth snickering behind him, he turned around and stuck his tongue out at her then turned back to Grover. As Grover bleated “Dude happy birthday, wish I could be there”
“Grover it doesn't matter whether you are here or not it's just another day”
“If you're sure Percy”
The three kids ended up chatting for an hour till Grover had to leave cause the rainbow was fading. When Percy looked away he saw a letter that he must have not noticed, he picked it up and it was from his mom, he opened the letter and it said Six words that made his heart jump and excitement crawl up his throat.
3 pm outside of cabin 3
Percy jumped up and checked the time 2:58 pm it read. He turned to Annabeth and saw a matching grin on her face they both waited and walked outside at exactly 3 and saw Sally, Percy's mother standing there smile wide, he was happy to see her and jumped into her open arms she hugged back.
Hours passed and during that time Percy got to water-call his father, celebrate with the camp, and spend time with his mom and Annabeth. It wasn't until after dinner that things got crazy.
The campers all sat there celebrating, Singing songs and overall it was Percys’ least overwhelming day in a long time. Just as Percy let his guard down he heard Mr.D yell “PERSEUS POTTER, ANNABETH CHASE, AND SALLY JACKSON.”The trio looked at each other got up and walked to where Mr.D was at Thalia's tree and Percy realized why they were called Someone was at Thalia's tree.
The man was tall with a crooked nose, his hair was black as coal and he was glaring at Mr. D. The man tore his eyes away from Mr.D and towards Mom, his eyes grew in recognition and tears swelled up before they disappeared instantly.
Percys’ mom smiled but stiffened ever so slightly in a way she would with Gabe he knew this man was bad news. “Severus” she drawled. “I see your here to give Percy his letter?” Mr.D. spoke up just as Chiron trotted by. “Who are you and can anyone tell me how he can see this place but not get in?” by this point a group had gathered.
“My name is Severus Snape, I work at Hogwarts School for witchcraft and wizardry, Which means I am a wizard and wizards see past the mist, However, most wizards can't see past the strong mist of this forest but I was born with the gift that even if I were a muggle, Then I would see past the mist.” he looked at me then Annabeth and continued in his monotone voice. “I am here to give Perseus Potter” he spit out my last name like it was venom “And Annabeth Chase their Hogwarts letters and guide them into the wizarding world, However,” he looked at my mom “I see that won't be necessary”
I looked between them then turned around and said “Nope- No fucking way I'm doing this Tell me in the morning.” he walked back to his cabin and changed and went to bed, He faintly heard the other campers go to bed and his mom walking into his cabin.
“I know you are awake so I’m going to explain this and then tomorrow we will go get your school supplies.”
“I was born as Lily Evans and was a witch when I was younger I met Severus he told me I was a witch then when I turned 11 I went to Hogwarts school for witchcraft and wizardry and met your father, He was bored of godly life so he Turned himself into human and got adopted by the Potters, he Posed as a wizard using his godly powers for everything, He got the reputation of a prankster and got his group of friends. Sirius, Remus, Peter, and him. They were called the marauders and I soon became friends with your father.”
“However in our 6th year Voldemort rose, He soon started the second wizarding war, Your father and I started dating, After we graduated we waited a few years and then conceived you, Which is when your father revealed who he was, I still had you then we heard a prophecy that basically said you could defeat the dark lord and he was out to get us so we went into hiding, Made peter our secret keeper and then he ratted us out, Your father ‘Died’” she made quotations with her fingers.
“And when he was back into his godly form he secretly protected us and now we are both invincible to the killing curse, so I was ‘Killed’ and then he went to kill you but after he ‘killed you’ Zeus and Poseidon struck him down destroying the house. And from then you were called ‘The boy who lived’ No one knows I lived cause I left and followed Hagrid to where he took you, He took you to my sister's doorstep and I grabbed you and brought you home, changed my name, and started a new life..”
Percy looked at his mom, she hugged him and told him “When you go to Hogwarts everyone will think I'm dead, Don't correct them. In the wizarding world, your guardians are either Gabe or Mr.D.” he made a face at that “Smelly Gabe is my guardian?” she gave him a sorrow look “at the time I had to choose someone, and When you arrived here Mr.D got all rights over you so I have no clue which it would be on paper.”
He nodded and fell asleep as she walked out of the cabin.
