COURSE RAPIDE
It’s only two days later when Siriussy must face his friends. He’d been going to his lessons, trying to act normal, and crying himself to sleep. It had been rough. But…but maybe seeing everyone again and throwing himself back into getting Jame back…
“Siriussy, I—I’m sorry, but we really can’t…we don’t have the manpower to–to get into Alphaban, and–and well…” Evans was close to tears, Siriussy could see it in the flush of her face and the shine of her green eyes. “Siriussy, Dorcas isn’t—she isn’t…”
“She’s dead . Just fucking spit it out , Evans,” M. snapped from beside her colleague. (A/N: surprise motherfuckers!) M. looked worse for wear. There were dark circles under her eyes and her blonde hair was a mess, the part zigzagging across her skull and knots sprinkled through, causing her to look like a bird’s nest.
Siriussy’s eyes went wide at M.’s words. He glanced around at the others, Evan, Edgylus, Remu, Pandora .
Pandora was a mess. Her white blonde hair tumbled around her face like a shield of grease and dandruff. Her frame was frail, curled in on itself. Siriussy couldn’t find it in himself to do anything.
He wasn’t the only one going through the ringer and it—it made him angry. He wanted to scream, wanted to tell them all off. I was supposed to be the one grieving! We were supposed to find Jame and then everything would be fine! This is supposed to be about me and you were all supposed to help me!
It was a pathetic thought, one of a petulant child, but it’s what he thought. What Siriussy believed. This was about him and they were going to find Jame. This was bullshit .
“I—” Siriussy’s mouth opened and closed for a second, floundering for the words to say. “Is there no way to get Jame back?”
“We just have to wait for his release. Maybe after the war?” Edgylus says carefully, shrugging slightly.
Siriussy did not believe this war would ever end. At least, not in their favour. “I think we should call it all off.” He didn’t know why he said it. Maybe the loss had become too much. The grief too great. Maybe he just missed Jame, but it didn’t matter because he had said it and he believed it. Siriussy had never wanted to get caught up in all of this, he’d only joined the Order because of Jame and now Jame wasn’t even around! So yeah, maybe they should call off the war! Call Riddle, storm the capital, whatever, just tell Riddle that they’ll stop resisting Sigma rule if he releases one Jame Fleaman Potter from Alphaban and just be done with it. Wouldn’t that be better for Jame? Wouldn’t Jame prefer that to being in prison?
“ What? ” M. looked at him with wide eyes, gaging the others’ reactions by glancing around. Most were the same, but Lily…Lily looked almost excited, but only for a second. Only for the second Siriussy happened to be watching her. Maybe he was crazy.
“You heard me, I’m sick of this. I’m so fucking horny and Jame is in prison , so there’s nothing I can do about it. And it’s not like I wanted to join the Order in the first place, I’m only in this position because I wanted to make Jame mine, so fuck all of you, I’m going to get Jame out, then we’re going to go live out past Omega Village, away from all of this shit.” He probably wasn’t making any sense—it wasn’t like his thoughts were forming any sort of coherence inside of him—but he’d said all that he meant and that was for these people to decode. Fuck all of them. Fuck all of them for not getting Jame back. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
“Sirius, if you break Jame out of Alphaban, this war will never end,” Edgylus said, gently. Fuck, why couldn’t he just yell ? Siriussy was so angry and so everyone else should be! It’d be easier that way. “You’ll either be killed, imprisoned, or hunted down for the rest of your life. It isn’t worth it.”
“I would gladly die for him!” Siriussy exclaimed, eyes wild and fists clenched. He was so angry . Furious at this fucking world for refusing to allow Jame back to him. What the fuck? What the fuck?!
“Siriussy if you die for him, he won’t be saved and you’ll never see him again!” M. snarled, standing to meet his eyes. Finally, a worthy opponent . Siriussy could see the rage burning behind her cold, brown eyes. A shimmer of hate, the delectable sight of determination. But he…he couldn’t. His will to fight puttered out, leaving him heaving and empty.
“I can’t—if we’re not going to save Jame, I don’t want to speak to any of you.” Siriussy rubbed his forehead, a headache coming on. “I’ll just leave.”
No one protested as Siriussy turned around and crawled out of the sex dungeon.
As he walked down the Alpha Square street, Siriussy couldn’t help but let one tear slip from his blue-ish grey, purple, pink orb (A/N: guys I’m bored, you’re going to be getting hella y/n now) . He just couldn’t believe those bullies would do this to him! Taking a deep breath as he stepped onto the next train to Sigma Training Centre, Siriussy began to sing under his breath to the empty car:
“Like a small sigma in a big world,
Sending revolution into motion,
Like how a single kidnapping can leave my heart broken,
I might only have one glock, but I can make an explosion.” Siriussy looked around at the empty seats. He had something to say, gamma dammit!
Standing up on on of the orange plastic-y chairs, Siriussy’s voice began to belt his innermost feelings without fear:
“And all those things I didn’t say to my Jame who might be dead,
I’m gonna break him out tonight!
Can you hear my voice this time?
THIS IS MY FIGHT SONG! TAKE BACK MY JAME SONG! PROVE I’M THE BEST SONG!” The train slowed to a stop at Sigma Station and Siriussy hopped off, strutting past crusty old men and businesspeople, feeling like a million bucks. Fuck Dumbledore, fuck Riddle! Fuck them all! Siriussy was going to get Jame back from Alphaban, no thanks to those fuckers with the Order or any of the law-abiding Sigmas.
As Siriussy slammed open the grand Sigma doors, the climax of his song building, everyone turned to look at this rebellious bad boy that Siriussy had turned into. He was wearing his best outfit, having costume-changed within the past two sentences or something. He had on ripped jeans and chunky combat boots, covered in the blood of his enemies. His orbs glowed with the female rage of Beta Rachel Platten and his beautiful black locks floated beside his perfectly sculpted face like a hot-as-fuck Medusa. A few people stumbled back from his looks as Siriussy howled like a siren, enchanting some of those nearby into fainting.
But as his song ended, he noticed it. A little sign was set up on the marble floor, advertising a hanging.
See Jame Fleaman Potter – Sigma Traitor! Be Hanged on March 27th
Siriussy nearly fell to his knees when he read the news. Jame was…Jame was being hanged . He was being hanged tomorrow . Tomorrow, which also happened to be his seventeenth birthday.
Siriussy couldn’t believe the world’s cruelty! He immediately turned right back around, sprinting into the golden light of the sunset and back towards the station he’d just left feeling like the king of the world. But he wasn’t the king of the world because he couldn’t control the senseless cruelties of this harsh and cold world. As he sat, staring at the cityscape whizzing by, Siriussy made another promise to himself, one that he figured he’d never be able to keep, just like the rest of them, but he made anyway. He told himself that he would save Jame from this hanging. He told himself that Jame would not be hanged on his birthday. Siriussy would find a way to postpone this. He would.
(A/N: I don’t remember anything I’ve written and no I am not going back to read past the last paragraph, so ignore any plot holes <333)
Siriussy leapt out of the Sigma Training Centre, dashing for the train station. He needed to tell the others immediately! They would have to break into Alphaban, Siriussy didn't give two fucks about their reservations, he needed to get Jame out! They were going to hang him for Sigma Merlin's Sake!
The trains were slowing down for the night, petering off as the sun was setting, still, there was one final train to Alpha Square that Siriussy sprinted towards, totally bypassing the turnstiles and the shouts of indignation from the train worker.
The doors had begun to close as Siriussy busted through them and onto the floor of the car. It was an impatient twenty-minute ride waiting, waiting, waiting; praying nothing bad was happening to Jame while he had to pause for transport.
Siriussy prayed that Edgylus would help him. Begged the world that Lily would too. And Evan. And Pandora. Fuck please let Remu come along. He knew he couldn't pull this off alone, no matter how much he wished he could. It was just impossible. Jame needed all of them, not just Siriussy. And maybe that was hard to hear, but for Jame? Anything.
The train screeched to a halt, sliding Siriussy across the floor he hadn't bothered to get up from. Eagerly, Siriussy yanked the train doors open with his superhuman Sigma powers. Siriussy was then running like a trackstar through the town he grew up in, out of breath and sweaty by the time he skidded to a stop in front of Edgylus' sex dungeon's entrance. He thought, briefly, about knocking, but figured Edgylus wouldn't be able to hear from inside and probably wouldn't answer anyway. He wasn't expecting anyone, was he? Remu had broken up with him, so probably not. It's not like he'd be walking in on something anyways...Siriussy shrugged and leaned his shoulder against the trapdoor, pushing to reveal a passageway underneath.
It was musty and dusty down there, the air smelt of sex and sadness. Siriusssy crept carefully toward the closet exit. But before he made it, he'd tripped over something... someone! REMU AND EDGYLUS WERE HAVING SEXUAL INTERCOURSE ON THE GROUND!!! Crazy, amiright?
"Woah woah woah" Siriussy cried! "When did you horndogs get back together?? Or is this hate sex or something (@epicblueblanket)?"
Edgylus blushed crimson, sliding off Remu's hard dick and standing with his arms crossed, glaring at his older brother. "Why the fuck are you here?" Edgylus snarled, but he wasn't making eye contact, so it didn't bite as badly as he'd probably hoped.
"OH YEAH! Jame is being hanged tomorrow so, uhm, I figured we have to get him out of Alphaban now..." Siriussy all of a sudden busted a nut, no, he burst into tears (A/N: why am I so stupid). "HE'S GONNA DIE ISN'T HE?!?" Siriussy wailed.
Remu rolled his eyes, standing up from the dirty ass fucking ground they insist is sexy to fuck on (Siriussy disagrees, personally he thinks disease is very not attractive). "Man, get yourself together. Jame isn't going to die, Edgy and me were just talking about how to get him out. You do know Edge is kind of an important person in society, right? The Zakks are very influential people."
Sirussy was hit with the realisation that Edgylus was now the heir, so of course he was involved in politics like his Mother had always wished Siriussy to be. Well, fuck that. Siriussy didn't care.
"Well, I mean, yeah I know Edge is important or whatever, but usually Sigmas get this information first because they want us to be able to get front-row seats or whatever," Siriussy huffed, annoyed that Remu was here. Like, no hate to the dude or anything, but he'd just broken up with Edgy, wasn't it a bit cruel to keep leading him on like this? Maybe he wasn't leading him on, though...mayhaps it was love.
Nahhhhh, Siriussy nearly giggled at the prospect. That'd be so stupid. "Whatever guys, I just need help getting my boyfriend out of prison, okay? So are you in, or are you out?"
The thing about Edgylus Zakk is that he's a weak man, as we've mentioned before. (A/N: I think I’m really funny with these transitions, so please validate me :3) He wasn't quite sure how he found himself standing outside a maximum security prison with his older brother, boyfriend(? honestly Edgy doesn't know what they are...it's a bit complicated right now), and a traitorous lesbian (Edgylus was almost certain she would stab them in the back, but he needed a little more proof).
They had makeshift weapons, but if everything went well they would certainly not be using them. And even if things went terribly wrong, Edgylus did not plan on being placed in a cell of his own for assaulting a prison guard. Look, love and prayers to Jame or whatever, but Edgylus was not willing to die (or worse, go to prison*) for Jame. (*Prison was practically a permanent sentence of judgement in the high society that Edgylus lived in. And so was death, he supposed, but he'd definitely never get anywhere if he went to jail.)
It was a rather formal event; amongst the rich folk, they loved a good hanging. High-brow Alphas, as well as all Sigmas, if interested, are welcome to go. Children in leadership programs across the nation were also encouraged to attend this rather gruesome branch of SAB city's judicial branch. All's fair in corporal punishment, Edgylus supposed. And plus, these things are normally reserved for murderers or something of that sort. They're usually very removed from society, so no one really knows them. This time? Well, this time it's personal. Half the crowd knows Jame, so there's a shit load of people who came for the show.
Hanging –
When I hang, do not watch;
Thus mine own end shall be not.
If thou cannot witness a death so divine,
Then did it perchance not occur?
Do not watch;
Do not listen;
Ignore,
And maybe shall I live;
-Edgy the Luster :3
(A/N: I headcanon Edgy the Luster as having been tried and sentenced to death for sodomy :])
As they walked into the dark and grey building, made entirely of concrete and forgotten dreams, Edgylus noticed a few faces he recognised.
"Maybe bringing me wasn't the best idea..." He scratched his head nervously as he caught the eye of one of his mother's friends.
"What are you talking about? Edge, you're allowed to be here, you know." Siriussy didn't even turn around to look at him when he said it, as if it was fact. Which, well, Edgylus supposed it was.
"Well, what will they think of me, being seen with you? And Evans? I can't be seen with you people!" Edgylus was suddenly gripped with fear. Oh no, no, no, no. What if he was arrested after all this went down? Oh, shit, shit, shit, shit. He'd been seen in public with them now!
"We should split up," Edgylus decided. He didn't wait for agreement, stalking off to a far corner and taking a seat.
The wait was unbearable. He caught Siriussy's eye a couple of times, but overall managed to ignore him. It was Evans he couldn't shake. She was everywhere he looked, everywhere he turned.
"Great Sigmas, could you leave me alone?" Edgylus hissed at the ginger after he'd bumped into her for the hundredth time, attempting to grab some refreshments (these things were big events, hors d'oeuvres, champagne, other French things, etc. It was rather frivolous, but who was Edgylus to reject crackers?).
"Well I'm sorry, aren't we both entitled to be here?" Lily 's green eyes flashed dangerously.
"Not equally. So, get out of my way." Edgylus walked through the woman, strutting off like a baddie with a fattie (but he didn't have a fattie. It was a big insecurity of his :[).
"Welcome! Welcome! Welcome to the hanging of Jame Fleaman Potter! Traitor to SAB city!" The crowd cheered as the announcer began spinning the tales of Jame's treason. Edgylus didn't really pay attention, his eyes were too busy locked on Siriussy as they dragged Jame out.
He was hard to look at—Jame, Edgylus means; well Sirissy too, he supposed, but Jame was looking rough. He was pale and frail-looking, his bones poking through greasy skin. His dark hair lay limp over his glazed-over eyes, uncovered entirely without the gold rims to frame them. But the worst thing? His entire right arm from the elbow down was gone.
Edgylus could've shrieked when he saw it. There were no wrappings, just a small bit of bone poking out from Jame's elbow. It was horrifying, the things they would do to a person in Alphaban. Edgylus was never a fan of his city, but only then did he truly feel disgust for how it was run. At this moment it was decided. Edgylus Archer Zakk had to do something.
The look on Siriussy's face was pained, hopeless, and helpless. He was broken. Emotions flashed across his crooked expressions and he was gripping the arm of his chair. And as the announcer listed off more and more of the wrongs Jame had done, Siriussy's knuckles became whiter and whiter, until Edgylus was sure his fingers were going to fall off.
That's when it came to him.
"Any objections to this hanging?" The announcer asked, almost rhetorically.
"Yes." Edgylus stood. He'd never been more sure of himself in his whole life than he was in this moment. "Respectfully, how are we to get the information about this Order you speak of, if your only source is killed? I say keep him alive and use him." Edgylus sat back down.
The announcer paused. No one ever objects.
"Erm...what the Sigma?" He blinked. "Can—can he do that?"
One of the guards shrugged and then nodded, it technically wasn't against any law—freedom of speech for the rich and all that.
"Uhm, okay then, sure, I guess? You guys kind of do rule the city, so sure. I'll go talk to Riddle, see what he thinks, but sorry folks, this hanging is postponed for at least 2 weeks." The crowd booed, but quickly began clearing out. Edgylus looked around suspiciously. That was...easy.
But his thoughts were quickly interrupted by an excited Siriussy sprinting toward him and wrapping him in a hug, other people in the room be damned. Edgylus kind of wanted to pull away, but...this was his brother. He did love him, believe it or not.
Brother–
The only love, untouched by life;
The only purity of caring;
The only bond strong enough for this life:
Of a brotherhood.
Brotherhood is unbreakable—
It is a force;
It is blood and water and love and care.
Without brotherhood, I would be alone
-Leonardo Debussio
Siriussy pulled away slightly, sniffing. He turned his head to catch his last glimpse of Jame as the guards slowly took him away. Edgylus didn't know if their eyes met; he didn't know if Jame would even recognize Siriussy, after all he'd been through, but he prayed to Sigma Merlin and Sigma Morgana and any other great Sigmas that they had gotten that last connection, the first in so many weeks.
"We have to get him out of here." Edgylus surprised even himself with his words. Evans had been drifting close to him and Siriussy, stepping in with shock.
"You aren't seriously suggesting we—"
Siriussy cut her off, "Of course, he is, Lily! I'm his brother and Jame will be his brother-in-law, so help me, Merlin!" Edgylus nodded slightly, looking at his older brother in awe. This is the brother Edgy had always known; missed so dearly. Here he was, speaking of their brotherhood. and here Edgylus was, protecting the one Siriussy loved. Because they were brothers. And brotherhood is unbreakable .
