Harry and Ron, as well as the Hogwarts students in the class who grew up in the magical world were quite frankly confused. They didn't understand math. And so, Harry, taking one for the team rose his hand.
"Yes, dear?" The teacher, Ms. Gillord asked. Harry rubbed the back of his neck and said, "I don't understand how to do this. Can you explain?" Ms. Gillord nods.
"So, I'm pretty sure your term of money is galleons, sickles, and knuts, correct?" Harry nodded. "And how many sickles are in a galleon?" Harry responded, "29." "And what would you get if you multiplied that by 3?"
Harry looked her dead in the eyes and deadpanned, "Ronald here's bank account."
Dean Thomas, who was drinking some water when he said that, choked and spit out said water. Then the bell rang and the students left.
