Breakfast and Snape
"Where am I?" Harri asked as she stood. She realized that she didn't have her wand and was terrified. She never had a good sudden interaction like this before.
"You are in your core. You are in no danger here. I am Lady Morganna Le Fay, and you, my precious girl, are my heir," the woman said before sitting down. She patted the space in front of her gently. Harri carefully sat in front of her.
"How am I here?" Harri asked softly. She was so confused about all of this. She hadn't been taught this during her summer lessons.
"You wouldn't have been taught about this, dear. It is something special to our line. It's a gift from magic it that comes to us when we hit puberty. It's to help keep us safe as women. It also helps us when we start having visions," Morganna said with a kind smile. "Your mother had been confused as well. I am here to help you through the trails that are to come."
"Why can't I ever be normal?" Harri asked with a groan before flopping back on the soft grass. She heard Morganna chuckle softly.
"You are someone who is destined to help change and grow our nation. You can not be normal because you are needed for greatness. My mentor had said that to me at your age, and it didn't bring me comfort, and I'm sure it would not bring you comfort, but it is the truth. You are meant for great things, and that is a difficult task," Morganna said kindly. "Tonight, I am here to warn you that you may start having visions soon. I would suggest buying some tarot cards to help you focus your energy."
"I have some of my mom's cards that we had found in her vault. They have lilies on the back. I haven't tried to read them yet, but I have a book full of their meanings," Harri said with a small smile.
"She would be honored that you are using her cards. Regulus had had them custome made for her as a birthday present. Those are moon lilies to show that they were connected as the Black family is heavily connected to astrology," Morganna said with a smile. She gently ran a hand through Harri's hair to bring her comfort.
"They are beautiful, and I hope I do them justice," Harri said softly. She sighed contently and closed her eyes.
"Sleep well, my heir. we will speak again," Morganna said as everything faded away.
Harri woke up before everyone in her dorm. She stood and stretched before going to the bathroom. She showered and changed into her uniform, ready for her first day of classes.
She walked down the stairs and smiled at Neville, who stumbled down the stairs. She held her hand out to him with a smile. They went to breakfast hand in hand. When they got to the entrance of the Great Hall, Draco was coming up from the dungeons with his Slytherin friends. She held out her other hand to him happily.
When he took her hand, she led the way to the Gryffindor table. She noticed Draco's friends were following them confused. When they were all sat down, Harri introduced herself happily.
"A pleasure, Heir Potter. I am Blaise Zabini Heir to the House of Zabini," he said with a charming smile. The Italian diplomat was quick to make new connections.
"I'm Heir Theodore Nott, but please call me Theo," a boy with black hair and a crooked nose said before hiding behind a book.
"I'm Heir Daphne Greengrass, but please call me Daphne," the only girl in their group said with a slight smirk.
"It's a pleasure, but I'm Heir Potter-Black. My mother and fathers would be disappointed if I didn't acknowledge my papa Regulus Black," she said. She knew that it would be around the school by the end of the day, but she didn't really care. She wasn't going to hide who she was or what she knew.
When she saw McGonagall enter, she told her boys she would be right back softly. She went up to the heads table and smiled at her head of house.
"How can I help you, Miss Potter?" McGonagall asks, looking up from her paper.
"Potter-Black, if you don't mind, professor, but I wanted to ask if you could mediate a discussion between Professor Snape and I about his treatment of me? I wanted to make sure that everything was handled properly abs professionally," she explained with a calm smile.
"My dear girl, I'm sure a meeting isn't necessary," Dumbledore said with his twinkling eyes and grandfather like smile.
"With all due respect, Professor Dumbledore, I was speaking to my Head of House, and I believe it's necessary and within my rights according to the Hogwarts charter. Also, I am not your girl, and I would prefer you refer to me as Miss Potter-Black or Heir Potter-Black," Harri said, looking at Dumbledore with boredom. She turned back to Professor McGonagall to see what she thought.
"Why don't you say your piece now?" Snape sneered at her. She turned to him, noting calmly.
"I am not James Potter, and whatever grudge you hold against him is not mine to bear. I've been informed on a lot of things this summer including that my father bullied you but I am not him and you should not treat me as such and if you loved my mother half as much as you say you do you would know that she would not approve of you bullying the daughter she died for. Moving forward, if you do not treat me and grade me fairly, I will hire an outside tutor so that I may actually learn potions," Harri said calmly. She could hear that the hall had gone quiet watching them. She hadn't wanted this to be public, but he had asked, and she wasn't above using his pride against him.
"Why you insolent, pillock little girl! You know nothing of a mother you only truly knew from the womb," he seethed at her standing from his chair. He looked down right, murderous.
"I know enough about my mother that she chose me over you. See when I'm close to Dementors. I heard that night, and your name was mentioned. With that and this reaction, I will be hiring a tutor to come teach me potions during my regular class time. Neville will probably be joining me as well. Thank you for making this easy for me as I was truly going to try and give you a chance for my mother's sake, but it's no longer an option," Harri said keeping calm even now. "Also, the way to a woman's heart isn't by getting her husband and child killed."
With that, Harri turned and walked back to her seat. She sat between her boys and started to eat her breakfast. The Slytherins were looking at her with wide eyes.
"Well, that could have gone better, but the more witnesses, the better I suppose," Harri said thoughtfully. "I was thinking we could see if cousin Andy had time to teach us potions. I mean, she had a doctorate, not just a mastery in potions."
"You truly are the bravest person I know," Neville said reverently. She blushed brightly and lowered her head.
"I'll send an owl to her after breakfast class permitting. I think this year is going to be better. I know that Narcissa is already coming to teach us history as soon as we tell her our class time so we'll actually learn things this year," she said. She had kept her head down to hide her blush. She was looking forward to this year more than she thought she would.
