A Plan Come Together
Lucas and the others sat in Mike's basement waiting for Rolf and El. The room was a wash with chatter. Mike held a note book and pen. Luna spoke "ok me and Rolf can use stunning spells on the creature, but we don't want to kill it, there must be a place it could be used for good. maybe not in this world but in our world, mine and Rolf's".
Lucas was next to speak "we have a few things still to work out, like how do we get into the upside down, from what Eleven said it's huge and we need to find Will, and I hate to bring this up, but what if there's more than one Demogorgon, or other creatures" Mike sat with the note book. The others had certainly not thought of the prospect of their being more than one of the Demogorgon or other creatures in the upside down.
Rolf and El walked with Nancy "Nancy you know this town" Rolf said he explained what a sensory deprivation tank was and carried on "it would be expensive, really expensive, where in Hawkins could have something like that?" Nancy thought. Suddenly Eleven pointed "that building it's in the upside down" Nancy looked at where El was pointing and spoke "the school?" Suddenly Rolf went very pale "is that the school Will Byers would be at?" Nancy nodded "there's only one high school, but Will Byers he's dead".
El spoke "not solid like the wooden" Rolf thought and asked "in the upside down where else is solid?". El sat down and drew in the dirt, it looked like a kidney bean with a line going into it. Nancy looked confused "it looks like Steve Harrington's pool, the last place I saw Barb". Rolf turned to El and Nancy "I have an idea, Nancy can you take us to where Barbara was taken. I really hope I'm not right about this".
Nancy took a photo of the school stating "I think it might be important". Nancy drove them to Steve Harrington's they looked over the fence at the pool. Rolf turned to El "is this a solid place in the upside down?" El nodded. Rolf thought then grabbed Nancy, he spoke "could you take us to Will's home?" Nancy nodded, and took a Polaroid of the pool and wrote solid on the back.
At Will's house El looked and nodded that she'd seen the house in the upside down, she was about to speak when Rolf stopped her "in the upside down it's not solid is it" he shut his eyes and carried on "and it's less solid than the school isn't it?" Eleven nodded and asked how he new. Nancy took a photo of the house and wrote not as solid as school.
Rolf was about to answer when a boy came out of the house and spoke "Nancy, why are you photographing my home". El looked at the boy and said "Will". The boy said "he's dead, he drowned, I have to go in mum thinks he's communicating through the lights, some big conspiracy involving Hawkins lab, she's gone crazy" he turned to go. El lifted her hand and Jonathan found he couldn't move he was suspended in the air he could move his head but that was it. Eleven turned him round her nose bleeding a little. She sat down and wiped her nose and started to draw in the earth. When she'd finished she moved Jonathan who still couldn't move to look at it "the wooden, do you know this place?" Jonathan looked at the drawing "that's castle byers. Me and Will built it in the woods".
Jonathan took them into the woods and pointed at the small fort "I haven't been in since" he trailed off. El stood in the door way "blood" she pointed. Nancy was taking polaroids of the fort. Rolf looked at his pocket watch "we should get back to the others, they'll be wondering where we are".
Back at Mike's everyone turned when El, Rolf, Nancy and Jonathan entered. Chatter erupted, Rolf took out his wand and sent multicoloured stars around the room everyone turned to Rolf. Jonathan looked confused, Dustin turned to him and said "him and Luna are magical, and from the future" he gestured to Luna who gave a little wave and nodded.
Rolf spoke "ok theory there's more than one way into the upside down, at least three if my theory is correct. I think we've found two of them, I think the way in is where someone was taken or killed by the creature". Lucas spoke next "any theories on how to get into the upside down?" Rolf spoke "I think so, it was something El said at castle byers". El spoke "blood?". Nancy spoke "but Barb didn't" she trailed off "wait she did Barb cut her hand".
Rolf carried on with his second theory "I think the third way in is in Hawkins lab" he looked at Eleven "I think hawkins lab is home. I'm sure that what El is describing as the thing she's in when she goes to the upside down is a sensory deprivation tank. The lab is the only place that I can think of that could have one, or the means to have one".
Finally El spoke "in the upside down something's are solid something's aren't, why?" Nancy spoke "I think I have an idea on that. The solid places are where people were taken, yes?" El nodded. Nancy carried on "the school was sort of solid, I think it's because it is connected to Will and Barb the creature is using there memories, but nobody has been taken or killed by the creature there, hence why it's not a gate, but that memory is more solid than Will's house, because only Will is remembering it". Rolf nodded impressed.
"Ok while all this is interesting what do we have to fight against the creature?" Jonathan asked "cos aside from Nancy who can fire a gun, super chick and two who can do magic, oh and Dustin could gum the Demogorgon to death, this is my brother were trying to rescue. We need a plan". Everyone looked down suddenly feeling despondent as the enormity of the challenge they faced hit them. Dustin stood up "one, were not trying to rescue Will we're going to, We're not leaving without Will, and two, it's called cleidocranial dysplasia I also have no collar bones, and three Lucas is amazing with a slingshot".
Luna looked at El the start of a smile hitting her lips, Rolf looked at Luna "I know that look, your having an idea". Luna nodded, and turned to Eleven "odd question but can the Demogorgon fly?" El shook her head no looking confused, Luna was almost bouncing with excitement. She turned to Rolf "ok, so, what if we used some help" Luna had emphasized the word help with a flourish of her hand "we fight it with insanity to incapacitate it. All of us wear magical ear defenders that can't be knocked off, and we send in the fwoopers, and how about the mandrakes, if we take young mandrakes there cries should knock the Demogorgon out. Do you think they'd work on a Demogorgon though?" Rolf turned to Luna his mouth a gape, he slowly nodded "it'll work, I think, it'll work. It could work, i don't think we have anything else to bring".
